We showed up a few minutes late and the woman who was manning the shop was incredibly helpful and sweet. She explained everything about the e-bikes and made sure my girlfriend got the bike that was most comfortable for her. About halfway through our ride, I realized there was something wrong with the bike. We rode it back to the shop and the super helpful gentleman apologized and immediately gave us another e-bike. Having a 5-star business isn't about nothing going wrong. It's about how you react when things go wrong. Both employees (husband and wife, I believe) were beyond helpful and friendly. E-RYDES Sold me a second-hand cargo e-bike that broke down 9 months later, and washed their hands of it. New battery. New controller. Still dead. So E-rydes pointed me to the manufacturer. The manufacturer offered a replacement, for an e-bike, not a cargo. So I asked E-rydes to step up, take the credit, and make me whole. They said that's not their problem. But it is. In any consumer relationship, the vendor you purchased from is your point of accountability - not the manufacturer they've passed you off to. Buyer beware: Save yourself the headache. Great service and knowledgeable owners helped us select our bikes. Easy access to Mission Bay trail that was so fun! Also, biked some on ocean boardwalk but way too crowded for bikes on a beautiful sunny day in February. Helmet, pack for storage and lock available. We only did 2 hour tour so did not take lock. Throttle bike new to us and not really needed for fairly flat trail; was needed to do a few hills. Highly recommend this business if you want an ebike. read more

We just had a GREAT experience with ERydes! We LOVE riding our bikes on the trails and wanted to try an E-bike. This place was priced cheaper than Groupon and Ashley was so amazing! She was super friendly and answered all of our Qs. She was so easygoing and fun! The bikes were smooth and perfect for an assisted ride, since My son and I were recovering from some health issues and couldn't ride a full on bike for 2 hours. This was perfect! We didn't take it on the sand but when we did encounter sand on the side walk, the bikes were stable. The seats were surprisingly incredibly comfortable- We were on them for the full 2 hours. Reserved 3 bikes the day before 4th of July to ride on the holiday on a whim while we're camping at Mission Bay. Owners are super friendly and helpful (confirming other reviewers comments here). Bikes were great. My 15-year old son's bike had a battery issue part way into our ride. We called and they had us come back and exchanged the bike and gave us another hour at no added cost to make sure we got our full experience riding. The only downside which had nothing to do with E Rydes was that the beach was PACKED for the 4th so riding the bike path from their location was not fun. Also be aware that there is very limited parking in that area. Plan extra time to get parked and back to the shop for your reservation. There's a lot just past their shop, turn left where Olive Cafe is and drive past the alley into a beach lot. Would definitely rent from them again! read more

Awesome experience! Rented a bandit ebike for four days and used it as primary mode of transportation when not hanging out on the beach. Made it to Ocean Beach, Point Loma Lighthouse, Torrey Pines Glideport, LA Jolla Cove, Old Town and more! (Need some confidence to ride in traffic to go to the Glideport, but so worth it!)
