Not much selection or maybe Hollister has just gone downhill in clothing selection. Not much clearance selection either.

My favorite store at this mall. Good Staff (but could still improve) and great selection of items. Clean store.

This review is to give a shout-out to Ashley, the sales associate, for her superior customer service. When I arrived, I saw the line for order pickups on the 1st floor. Since the sale prices were still active, I decided to make some additional purchases. When it was my turn at the register, Ashley retrieved my online order from the back storage area. She verified my identity and completed the process. She also rang up the merch I chose while browsing the sales. Please note, there was a lot of customers, several registers were handling customer purchases. A man to the right of me came by to pickup an order for four items. Another sales associate couldn't find his order. Ashley said "it's in the storage area on the shelf to to right. Look on the bottom row, there is a note taped to his order." How in the world could she recall this specific order and know its exact location. Another customer to my left asked for a price check on two hats she was holding. Ashley to the rescue again! As she was looking up my account number, she used a hand-held device to scan the tag of the hats and tell the customer the price. She helped customers to the right and left of me while handling my transactions. I requested a gift receipt for some of the items and she quickly and efficiently placed those items in a separate bag with the receipts. I like shopping in person to choose or try on my purchases. I bought towels, pajamas, and sweaters. Occasionally, the online order works just as well and saves time. The quality of the goods and products at JC Penny's Department store is very good. I get my money's worth. Sincerely, Rosemary

I would like to share an experience I had today at the Macy's store in West Covina regarding a…read morereturn. Unfortunately, the interaction left me feeling profiled, disrespected, and extremely disappointed. As soon as my family and I approached the Customer Service counter, I noticed two associates talking. When we walked up, one of them, Angelica, already appeared visibly annoyed before we had even spoken. The other associate walked away, leaving Angelica to assist us. I politely explained that we had a few returns: a suit, two pairs of shoes, and a handbag. Instead of greeting us or acknowledging us, she remained silent and immediately began inspecting the suit. I completely understand the need to verify that returned merchandise has not been worn. However, the interaction quickly became uncomfortable. When we originally purchased the suit, the sales associate had to create a replacement tag because the original barcode would not scan. When Angelica scanned the replacement tag, she stated that while the description matched the suit, the size did not. We explained that the associate who sold us the suit had created the replacement tag because the original was not working. Rather than simply resolving the issue, Angelica repeatedly questioned us about why there were two tags and said she "didn't understand the thought process behind it." I responded that we didn't know because we do not work there and we were not the ones who created the tag. It felt inappropriate to question us as though we were responsible for an internal issue. Throughout the interaction, Angelica's tone and demeanor made us feel as though we had done something wrong. I genuinely felt like she was treating us with suspicion, as if we had stolen the merchandise or were attempting to commit fraud. As a Store Manager for a retail company, I understand the importance of asset protection and verifying returns. There is a professional way to handle those situations while still treating customers with respect and dignity. This was not that. The experience left me feeling profiled based on assumptions rather than facts. Instead of approaching the situation objectively, it felt as though Angelica had already decided we were being dishonest. No customer should be made to feel that way while making a legitimate return. Angelica eventually asked her manager, Justin, for assistance. Ironically, Justin was the manager who had been present the night we originally purchased the suit. The moment he arrived, Angelica's attitude noticeably changed. Her tone became more professional, which only reinforced my impression that her earlier behavior was unnecessary and inappropriate. My concern is not that the return required additional verification. I fully understand and support those procedures. My concern is the way we were treated throughout the process. Every customer deserves to be treated respectfully until there is a legitimate reason to believe otherwise. We left feeling embarrassed, judged, and profiled for simply trying to return merchandise that had been purchased from your store. My family and I have spent thousands of dollars at Macy's over the years because we have always enjoyed shopping there. Experiences like this make us question whether we will continue doing so. I hope this feedback is taken seriously and that Angelica receives additional coaching on providing respectful, unbiased customer service. No customer should leave your store feeling the way we did today.

But I can at least guarantee that the mall is always lively and there's plenty of parking. Lots of restaurants around and across the street too. What I like best about this mall is their effort to foster community here, such as the Dia de los Muertos display or when I happened to walk pass a Bluey Xmas dance party and you can take pictures with Santa AND Bluey. Super cute. One time years and years ago, they had a scavenger hunt for Christmas where you search around the mall to take photos with your phone for an ornament. I really liked that I did that and got to spend time with my family. I've seen so many shops come and go here and pieces of my childhood through adolescence such as the Disney Store (I remember spending time here looking through that giant plushie pile), the merry go round, Surf City Squeeze (always thought their mascot looked cool, now replaced with a Pop Mart vending machine), Nothing But Silver (went here lots with my mom and aunts), Sanrio Surprise, Amapola Deli and Market (crazy they tried to open a market in here), the hermit crab vendor, McDonald's that my mom would always get my brother and I and the vendors that would try to sell stickers at our table, the dollar store on the upper floor above Baskin Robbins, the used bookstore and so much more. Huge chunk of nostalgic memories for me, but today it's decent mall with most things that you would need. Some shops I go to often to get gifts or pick up something for myself, See's (thanks for closing PH location), Hot Topic, Bath and Body Works, Miniso, etc. At least the Tilt arcade here is still open. I wouldn't go out of my way to go here, but if you're already here, might as well enjoy malls before more of them perish.

There is even a page that posts about all the closed malls. It's on FB if you want to look for it. It's sad really, if you think about it. Where will you go when there are no more malls to go hang out on a Saturday afternoon? Or when you have teens full of energy that just need a safe and non threatening environment? Where will you go if you just want to get out of the house for a couple hours and maybe get a snack or meet a friend after work ? Bars are not the only places to hang out. Although, those are quietly disappearing too. If you'd like to keep this mall, social space, and have a place to hang out like we did before 2020 told you to stay home and pushed online, ama zon shopping on you. It was planned. Go see how much ama zon is worth now. I digress. The mall is a community center for gathering. Of course there are parks, but what about when it rains or it's too hot outside ? Come on we live in the valley. The summer can be very hot and we need to geo somewhere to cool down. Right ? The mall needs more visitors to stay alive. Stop buying online: Plus, by coming in person you support jobs. Jobs are scarce these days. Very scarce. I know several people looking for jobs. Let's not give them excuses to close down. I'm just sharing because lots of places are closing down and it's not ok. Communities thrive when small businesses and local businesses are thriving. Do you want those community to vanish or will you come support it at least on the weekends here and there ? So what do you say ? Come down for a stroll ? Let's go get lemonade or a cinnamon roll YUMMMM ! You can always come for walk after having Portos next door, too. Just saying & giving you ideas. I have no idea how this woman is allowed to work in the front!!!!! We were here at about 3pm checking out and while she was helping a customer in front of us, he asked her for a bag and she replied "Well ten cents" so he started looking for change in his wallet. He took out a quarter and with a voice filled with attitude told the man who very clearly had trouble speaking English "How many do you want? I said ten cents" and he replied "Yes one bag" and so she proceeded to put his quarter back on the shelf and take a dime away from him. I get it, maybe it's easier to just get the dime instead of giving him change for a quarter but maybe he just didn't understand. No need to be rude! THEN - when we had room to put our stuff on the conveyor belt, I was waiting for a bar to separate our items and she literally THROWS the bar towards us on top of the conveyor belt instead of using the designated space to slide it down on. My mom and I just stared at each other in disbelief, had that just happened?? Whatever, we proceeded to put our items down and once it came time for her to scan our TV in our cart, she stood there with a scanner in hand and didn't say a word but expected us to somehow magically know we have to push our shopping cart around to her. Has this woman ever heard of speaking to customers to let them know what we need to do? Usually when we have big items in our carts the employee comes around and scans it but I guess that's too much work for her. Then, I was handing her my ID card for her to verify my age since I was purchasing alcohol and she completely ignored it so I put it away since she had already scanned the alcohol anyways. Someone tell me why this lady then pauses the whole transaction to stand there just staring at me. I'm confused now and don't say a word either since that's the attitude I'm receiving she can get it right back!! With an obvious anger in her tone, she says "ID???" so I give it to her AGAIN. What a horrible way to treat your customers. Why work in customer service if you can't provide a simple smile and a nice attitude?
