Every employee we encountered offered assistance, a sample, or just a friendly welcome. The value was definitely reasonable today because of the sale. Macys has a higher end product so I will always say the value is there. A coupon or store discount is just an added perk. I would like to share an experience I had today at the Macy's store in West Covina regarding a return. Unfortunately, the interaction left me feeling profiled, disrespected, and extremely disappointed. As soon as my family and I approached the Customer Service counter, I noticed two associates talking. When we walked up, one of them, Angelica, already appeared visibly annoyed before we had even spoken. The other associate walked away, leaving Angelica to assist us. I politely explained that we had a few returns: a suit, two pairs of shoes, and a handbag. Instead of greeting us or acknowledging us, she remained silent and immediately began inspecting the suit. I completely understand the need to verify that returned merchandise has not been worn. However, the interaction quickly became uncomfortable. When we originally purchased the suit, the sales associate had to create a replacement tag because the original barcode would not scan. When Angelica scanned the replacement tag, she stated that while the description matched the suit, the size did not. We explained that the associate who sold us the suit had created the replacement tag because the original was not working. Rather than simply resolving the issue, Angelica repeatedly questioned us about why there were two tags and said she "didn't understand the thought process behind it." I responded that we didn't know because we do not work there and we were not the ones who created the tag. It felt inappropriate to question us as though we were responsible for an internal issue. Throughout the interaction, Angelica's tone and demeanor made us feel as though we had done something wrong. I genuinely felt like she was treating us with suspicion, as if we had stolen the merchandise or were attempting to commit fraud. As a Store Manager for a retail company, I understand the importance of asset protection and verifying returns. There is a professional way to handle those situations while still treating customers with respect and dignity. This was not that. The experience left me feeling profiled based on assumptions rather than facts. Instead of approaching the situation objectively, it felt as though Angelica had already decided we were being dishonest. No customer should be made to feel that way while making a legitimate return. Angelica eventually asked her manager, Justin, for assistance. Ironically, Justin was the manager who had been present the night we originally purchased the suit. The moment he arrived, Angelica's attitude noticeably changed. Her tone became more professional, which only reinforced my impression that her earlier behavior was unnecessary and inappropriate. My concern is not that the return required additional verification. I fully understand and support those procedures. My concern is the way we were treated throughout the process. Every customer deserves to be treated respectfully until there is a legitimate reason to believe otherwise. We left feeling embarrassed, judged, and profiled for simply trying to return merchandise that had been purchased from your store. My family and I have spent thousands of dollars at Macy's over the years because we have always enjoyed shopping there. Experiences like this make us question whether we will continue doing so. I hope this feedback is taken seriously and that Angelica receives additional coaching on providing respectful, unbiased customer service. I have never been a huge fan of Macy's; however, on occasion, when I DO visit the store, I usually end up purchasing merchandise like a shirt, pants, and/or cologne (I am a HUGE fan of cologne). This specific store is always very clean, fully stocked, and easy to move from aisle to aisle. Prices are affordable, and there is usually a sale on various items. The employees are ALWAYS friendly, welcoming, and ready to offer help with whatever you need. Online buyers Beware!!! I purchased a men's Tissot Classic Black Leather Band watch online, It was exactly the kind of Swiss watch I was hoping to find and purchase to gift my son for Christmas. There were no online complications and Macys in West Covina had the watch In Stock so I chose to pick up purchase at that location. I love uncomplicated online shopping. Who doesn't right?! The following day, my purchase order was ready for pick up. Off I went. Once I arrived inside Macys, it was pretty easy to find where I needed to go. I stood in line for a solid 20 minutes. An associate came over to the line and asked me for my order info. She went to retrieve my order, she came back, she scanned the barcode I received via email for my purchase, she handed me my Macys bag and that was it...Pretty easy! I thanked her and headed out of the store back to my car. I was about to reverse out of parking spot and I thought, "wait a sec..I want to see the watch." I got the case out of the bag and opened it.. it was clearly NOT the watch I ordered and purchased online. The watch I was given was blue, scratched, used, dirty, it wasn't even strapped onto the watch cushion. I walked back into Macys, frustrated and went directly back to the same associate that handed me my order. She took me to the counter and she looked up my purchase order. Her response verbatim, "Oh yeah. I see what happened. It looks like the watch you ordered became out of stock so they picked another watch that was closest to the one you originally purchased." My jaw dropped. I had to ask her to repeat what she had said. I then asked her if I was in a supermarket??? I was so confused. I immediately asked for a supervisor or manager. In no time, 3 employees were trying to solve the problem. I showed them the exact expensive watch I purchased online..it did not take them 2 seconds to see the difference between the two. Ultimately, they offered me the opportunity to take the used Tissot watch an employee picked out in place of the original purchase and drive to a Macys in Orange County or Santa Anita and swap out watch for correct one. I requested they call Santa Anita Macys to confirm and make arrangements with an actual supervisor in their jewelry department before I drove there. They did. And, they handed me a $25 Macys "gift card" as an apology. Ultimately, I drove straight to Macys in Santa Anita and ended up canceling purchase all together. Waist of my gas, energy and time! Thank you Macys! Bottom line, If you are purchasing online and picking up from this location, DO NOT BLINDLY TRUST that you are being handed the exact item you purchased online. read more

I love Macy's Department stores, their merchandise and products are high quality and a good price for what I receive. They do have sales on a regular basis, especially on holidays. This location has two levels. I have purchased something in every department. The First Floor has women's clothing, shoes, purses, jewelry, perfume, and makeup. The Second Floor has men's clothing, children's clothing, linen, towels, blankets, pillows and small kitchen appliances. They do offer a personal assistant (Celebration Consultant) to guide brides looking to choose dinnerware and household goods for their online bridal registry. Brides earn points with purchases made. A separate registry is available for babies, an assistant is available, if needed. Registrants receive a Welcome Gift Box. I always receive top-notch service from the sales associates. They are able to look up my account and apply any coupons or reward points to discount my purchase. One day, I saw some shoes that I wanted, but they didn't have my size in stock. Without a blink of an eye, the associate said she would order them and have them shipped to my home at no additional charge. While he was scanning the items , one of his female colleagues was crouched beneath the counter next to him. To my surprise, she had a bag of hot Cheetos and pouring the hot chips into her mouth. Wow! No shame. I couldn't get her name, her name tag was very light in print. But she is a young female with eyeglasses and long semi curly hair . That was probably the most unprofessional thing I've ever seen. Right in front of me , crouching down as she poured hot Cheetos into her mouth. I think we even made eye contact . So cringe. Color of my suit is "gun metal" I really was getting desperate to go to Men's Wearhouse" The sales lady, Addrianne was so helpful and friendly. She explained to us how to get the coupon discount over the 50% discount. The store was not too crowded but the West Covina Mall had a lot of people looking for a good bargain. It's very difficult determining an accurate rating for this place as the store is overall clean and they have a good selection of items, but their greatest downfall would be the personnel's behavior and bedside manners. Came to Macy's in search of a gown for a formal party and I found a couple of good options and I was happy to find that the fitting room was relatively empty. A couple of minutes later, I could hear the room filling up and a line of customers forming outside. Don't know why all of a sudden everyone decided to try on clothes but when I came into the fitting room initially it was empty. There was an older female Caucasian employee who knocked twice on my fitting room asking if anyone was in here and both times I replied "yes". As more minutes passed, customers from the line kept knocking on my door and shaking the door handle asking if I'm almost done trying on clothes. This annoying behavior continuously kept happening in spans of about every 5 minutes. Instead of stopping this rude childish behavior and controlling the customers, the same employee instead encourages this behavior and adds more fuel to the fire by stating "She's taking wayyyy too long trying on those dresses" Imagine trying on clothes and simultaneously hearing both employees and customers talking smack about you outside? Wowww! That's definitely a first. By the way, continuously knocking and shaking a fitting room stall and emotionally reacting like toddlers and throwing tantrums outside isn't going to make me finish trying on these clothes any faster. Not sure who came up with this stupid idea. Besides annoying and uncomfortable, it's extremely unprofessional too. I was here first and the stalls were empty. I have every right to use the dressing room for as long as I please. It's not my problem if a line starts forming outside. I don't have the obligation or necessity to accommodate anyone. Don't like waiting? Come back later, go to a different dressing room, or visit a different Macy's store if you're that desperate. No need to act like ravenous wolves outside. The service in the jewelry dept sucks where it's not even funny. There were no customers there and yet nobody would help me. The women who "work" there wouldn't help me. All they did was just walk back and forth opening and closing their little half doors doing nothing except chit chatting with each other. If you are in search of furniture, you're better off looking elsewhere. We were interested in a sofa set and had to ask for someone to come to assist us as there was nobody on the actual floor. The lady who is supposed to be working was not there until an hour later, but time is money so why wait especially when you're going to spend a good amount (over 1k). The manager said we had to pick it up ourselves, which was fine as they have a team to help or we thought they did. They were 3 women who did not have the strength to load at all, so if you want to injure yourself in doing the loading of the items you bought go ahead and do it. Also we had to wait 40 minutes for them to get it ready when I had told the lady in the furniture department the pickup date and time which they claimed to be 6-7, yet nothing was ready. I LOVE Macy's, they have really really nice clothes that is high quality and last a long time. My family and I have been a Macy's customer for over 40 yrs. But, I am very disappointed with a recent purchase. Normally I have not purchased furniture at Macy's, but recently because my family and I lost our home in the Altadena fires we had to purchase a sofa set. I have been going all over the place and wasted an incredible amount of time shopping around going to different stores looking for a decent well made sofa set. Well, I finally thought of going to Macy's. I sat on every sofa they had and there was one that felt really really comfortable, I took my family so that they all sat on it just to make sure that we all agree and be happy with that specific sofa and everybody was happy because the sofa was very comfortable and it had just (the right amount) of softness and comfort, so we purchased the sofa. Well, after the sofa was delivered, set up, and we sat on it, OMG, the sofa is like it was a completely different sofa because it was so hard. It was NOTHING like the one we sat on at the store. Well, I thought mmm maybe it will "get soft" in a few weeks. Well, the sofa is still very stiff and is not comfortable at all. I have low back surgery injury and I'm very disappointed with this product we got from Macy's. I am not sure if this is a "trick" that Macy's does to their customers by making a specific higher quality comfortable sofa to showcase at the store, and then make s completely different sofa with different materials and that's the one they actually send to the customer. I mean, this sofa is nothing comfortable compared to the one we sat on at the store in the west covina mall. I am really disappointed, my back really hurts when I sit on it and nobody is happy with it. We feel completely cheated and I'm really surprised because this is Macy's. If I would have complaint about this before I guarantee you they would have told me "oh is because is new and it will get more comfortable in time". Their cosmetics department is such a wonderful one! Macy's offer discounts, coupons throughout the year. Plus if you have star reward it accumulates point based on your status. Throughout pandemic period, Macy's offered curbside pick up , or free delivery with qualified purchases. You can save gas, stay safe and receive your purchase in a nice package and in a short period of time. The store offers discounts frequently but in different departments. Also, if you are a cardholder you can shop at Macy's in any city state you visit. I just love Macy's and I want to share my experience throughout the years. read more

I came to do an online return. The store was not busy at all. I found the return counterand luckily for me, there was no line. I presented my item (a dress that was cute hut unfortunately too small) and the bag it was shipped in. I was asked for my credit card for the refund and how I'd like my receipt. Employee was very rude in the women's fitting area. my mother and I were sitting down waiting for a family member to finish trying clothes on and this employee with no name tag told her coworker to kick us out! Mind you there was no sign saying we cant sit here for a certain amount of time. Then the worker with no name tag told us we need to get out because we we're sitting too long.. She had this nasty tone and said many rude things to us in Spanish as if we don't speak Spanish. Manager ended up being called and he himself said where we were sitting was a resting place! This place has really gone down hill as far as customer service goes. Associates used to greet you as you walked into their department. Everything is unfolded and disheveled as well. I understand no one gives it 100% when you work customer service but a simple hello goes a long way. I was recently in search of a bag so I went over to the bag department. Not once did the sales associate there glance over my way to ask if I needed any assistance. Which I did as the bags are locked and you can't try them on. I tried making eye contact with her a few times with no success. Sure, I could have walked over and asked for help but she was trying so hard to avoid me that it made me feel uncomfortable.
