People speed in here and are pretty reckless too, so keep your head on a swivel, or better yet, just park on the roof. Some of the lower level spots can get a bit tight. Take your parking pass ticket with you so you can pay at the machine before leaving. You don't have to insert the ticket again because nowadays, most parking lots use Big Brother technology to read your license plate and identify if you've paid or not (I'm assuming). $1 for 2-ish hours is not bad! Especially if you're just in and out to grab a quick bite or to do some shopping. Random, but don't get suckered into going to the Church of Scientology right next to the parking lot pedestrian exit. I was in the area for a Yelp event & wasn't sure if I can find free parking nearby & with my time constraints to return in time for my daughter's swim meet, it was easier to use a parking garage. Luckily, De Lacey Garage is just around the corner of Lather so it was perfect! When I returned to my car, I had a hard time spotting the payment kiosk(s) since there's notices that state you need to pay first before attempting to exit. There was no kiosk by the stairs & elevator, which would be a sensible location to place a kiosk since it's an exit point. I looked at both ends & didn't see one, so I drove to the exit & paid there. It wasn't until I checked the reviews that there's only 1 payment kiosk & it's located at the ground level. If you're planning to dine or shop in Old Town Pasadena, I recommend parking here at De Lacey Garage or Schoolhouse Garage; they're centrally located & cheaper than metered parking.

This area was developed to be a leisurely place to enjoy community, shopping, food. It was a new concept design specifically for this area. It is a walkable and enjoyable experience to shop and eat in this area. Now that it is Macy's they have continued to develop small boutique stores located alongside the lower edge of the building along Lake. Some of the small boutique stores have changed. The new stores have become very popular. Foundation stores like Trader Joe's and The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf keep bringing in new customers. It is important to check opening hours for the different stores as they vary from store to store. Parking is available in the Macy's parking lot adjacent. I believe it's 3 hours parking but double check always the printed signs. The last time I walked by the area I was impressed at the generational diversity. Nice to realize that some of the historic influences of the past are being carried on by a new generation. When visiting this is a great place to consider. Others are just hanging out and not even wanting to leave. There's parking validation, but it will rack up. Movie only covered a part of it we still had to pay $6 even after leaving right after. Elevator was out of order so we had to go around and about in the pit to get to the stairs, but at least the stairs looked new and re-painted and not gross, dirty, and urinated on.
