As I mentioned there is drinks galore using all kinds of chocolate. ..white, dark etc...and you can get hot drinks in either a normal mug or in one sitting atop a candle to keep it warm for you. I have been here before and at times seating is minimal and hard to find if too busy...and as for the service it is very good. Located on the corner of a busy roundabout in Birkenhead, you get a nice picturesque view of the village as it moves around the front. I could not resist the home made German chocolate twist pastry, done in a traditional style of course, which was sensational, and beats my usual fave chocolate croissant any day. I was happy to meet the owner the day I arrived a very happy German man by the name of Chris, as I have researched after he is a very well trained pastry chef of seventeen years. They also cherish their regulars; for example my partner used to be a regular and then moved overseas for 3 years and they still remembered her after all that time! And then there's the pies, oh sweet sweet delicious heaven-sent morsels of delight! They have the standard fare which drive a hard bargain at $3.60, but then they also have 'fancy' pies for $4.20 which include rockstar gems like Steak, Mushroom, Bacon and Cheese, or Chicken, Camembert and Cranberry, or Steak and Kumara, or Butter Chicken and Broccoli.
