It's a start and I guess that discussing this with the marketing team is a step in the right direction but, The points I was told I would receive with my heroes card were still removed before I could use them and I was told after 6 months of inactivity they disappear and if you check your records you will see the points were activated less than two months and I believe less than six weeks. Apologizing is a good thing but, not giving them back or any other incentive other than an apology sounds like someone just trying to make Hollywood look like they've done something to look better. I came in and gave you my money then was given $10 only to have that taken away is. Not much incentive to return. I will be going to Eldorado today to take advantage of the $20 free play I mentioned as it starts today and that is an incentive for me to go visit. Thanks for the apology but it really seems quite stingy when a big casino takes $10 from a player then is told there was $15 which I never seen and I checked my Penn account and it is still $0 After someone takes something from you then apologizes , it's not much incentive to go back and if Hollywood is really not into incentives that's okay but I would feel the same way if someone took money from me in any other way. Great atmosphere. However I do wish that they had lower limits on their table games on the weekends. There was one $10 and one $15 blackjack table and the rest were $25 and up. People were crowded around the $10 & $15 tables trying to get on while there were a ton of empty $25 tables with dealers just standing there. I don't understand why they wouldn't want as many people playing as possible instead of standing around hoping to get on a cheaper table. Then eventually they increase the lower ones to $25 and so those will be empty too. All of those people could have been gambling and having fun instead of just watching and the dealers could be doing something and making tips. The hostess is never friendly and acts like she doesn't want to be there. Got seated at 9:35 There was only 5 other tables of people. Our waitress also acted as if she didn't want to be there and had no clue how to be a server. We sat there for 15 min waiting on a refill when she walked by at least 10 times. Food didn't come out till 10:20. It's not Vegas. It's Columbus. For a casino in Columbus, Ohio, it's very nice! The inside is themed after the golden era of Hollywood. It is large and very open. It's set up in a circular pattern with a bar in the center. There's a large heated, covered patio that has more slot machines and another bar. You can't smoke inside, but you can on the patio. There are a few restaurants. The only one I've tried is Mikey's Late Night Slice. I don't eat pizza often, so this is always a treat. They have five or six options that they serve by the slice. It's made elsewhere then brought in and heated. You get a huge slice. They also have a full bar. One downside. Unlike Vegas, no free drinks. Hubby usually has a beer, and I have a mixed drink. That will run you $14 plus a tip. The mixed drinks are small. If you're a drinker or there for a while, it's going to cost quite a bit. Also, they don't serve alcohol after 2 am. I think last call is 1:45am. As far as gambling, I haven't played the table games, so I can't comment on those. There is a wide variety of slot machines, including new and old. We've been there several times and have won several handpays. That's not to say that the machines aren't a bit tight sometimes. Overall, you can win enough, though, to have fun! read more

I was at Hollywood Casino Columbus Saturday Jan 31from 1:00 pm till 5:00pm. They were having a drawing of jackpot winners and the place was crowded and livel. I have been going there since it opened and usually have just played poker. The poker room is great and the staff are very accommodating and professional. I enjoy the casino but there are a lot of things that need improvement. First it was very crowded and the lines at the ticket cashing, bill breaking machines were insane because only about half were working. Being it was a weekend you would think all would be available. The line at the cage was also insanely long. I don't know how many windows were open but on crowded weekends you might want to open at least 4-5. The table games and slots were also crowded but the only complaint I would have is buttons missing or not working on some of the slots. When I say this it is not just a one off as I have been there multiple times and the same machines are the ones with the problems I mentioned. They need better maintenance on them. The ato sphereis good and the food selections are ok but they need a little more variety in choices. Dirty Franks and Mikey's Late Night are great but Wahlburgers is to me just ok. Zen Noodle is about the best food choice and I would like to see maybe some Mexican or Mediterranean food choices. Overall a pretty good time if you want to gamble bit they need to step up on the overall experience for gamblers. Penn National has to upgrade this casino a bit because it seems on a scale of 1-10 they are at about a 6. Still if you like table games a variety of the popular slots you will enjoy yourself. read more

I visited Hollywood Casino on 8/18/2025 and attempted to enter with my valid digital ID. Unfortunately, the scan did not go through. Rather than offering assistance or an alternative way to verify my ID, the staff dismissed me to walk around to another entrance however there is still a sign saying digital ID accepted at this station. Due to my questions my only option was forcing me to leave including banning for 24 hours. As a customer, I felt disrespected and mishandled. Technology is not perfect, and there should be procedures in place to treat paying guests fairly when issues like this occur. I ask that management review this incident, train staff to handle similar situations with more professionalism, and ensure that customers are not unfairly turned away. Not only did this make me feel unwelcome, but it also showed a lack of basic courtesy and respect for guests. A casino should treat every visitor with professionalism, whether they're a regular or a first-timer. Unfortunately, that was not the case here. I expected better treatment and clear communication, but instead left feeling frustrated and dismissed. Management should take a closer look at how their ASM handles guests--because experiences like this make people not want to come back. read more

We went on Sunday afternoon - when we pulled into the parking lot - it didn't look like a casino. Maybe at night it is lit up(??)but it looked like an abandoned mall WITH NO WINDOWS. And then you walk in and it's a CASINO! We had so much fun, yes we lost money but we played craps, black jack, roulette and slots. Hollywood Casino is clean and well laid out. And they have a lot of food options, but be warned, the restaurants are not always open, especially during slower traffic times. That's where the positivity ends. The staff seems indifferent, the minimums are overpriced, and as the other reviews state - this casino is VERY tight. Skip the automated craps machines. They're blatantly rigged! I've played these exact games in Vegas and in New Orleans and could make my money stretch for hour. Here? Nope. I blew through my money on more than one occasion. Just spend the extra money on the craps tables, but then again, you've gotta deal with the indifferent and sometimes crabby staff. I feel that since there's no competition in town, they gouge the customers and create tighter machines. After about a dozen trips to the casino over the years, my wife and I agreed, we're not going back. We're better off going to Dave & Buster's or Scene75 because at least when we lose our money, we have a good time and can at least leave with some candy or a blow-up alien figure we got from prize tickets. Hollywood Casino should get a one star, but they do have a clean place, the place is well kept, and you get unlimited free self-service drinks. Late night stop while heading out to the Midwest- touched down around 2:30am Columbus time and decided to snag a chip via the roulette table. Upon taking photos of the overall casino I was popped by this small security guard who wanted to be somebody. Seemed clean enough - dealer acted overworked and really disconnected from the players. Kind of a bummer. Lost my buyin at the table which was even more of a bummer. Would have been nice to have atleast one of the food places open all night - they all were closed. Husband and I went for his birthday in June. Parking is ample. There was a police presence for "safety" I imagine. The staff at the door are nice and wished him a happy birthday and good luck. It is not as big inside as it looks outside. Very busy, very loud. As expected. We arrived at about 4pm and had used the MyRewards app to obtain free credits. Allegedly, the amount of money loaded onto the app is matched! We were excited about suing extra money to play poker. Upon arrival, we couldn't find the poker tables. There is a room to the left of the cashiers that looks like a tournament area but not actual tables that we were looking for. We were told that they open at 8. Bummer. Also, as it turns out, the money on MyRewards is for slots only. We don't play slots so it's a waste and still sitting on the app. We returned at 9pm. No tables. Only tournament room. I wrote a message to Hollywood Casino on Twitter regarding our experience. They told us that poker was located next to the cashiers office. I explained that this was for tournaments and high betting. We just wanted to play a couple hundred dollars. They apologized for the experience. That's all. Otherwise... they have a great selection of slots and Black Jack. People looked to really be enjoying themselves. The food options were mediocre. I'd probably grab food before or after the casino. There is a ventilated smoking section which is nice for those that smoke. It doesn't seem to seep into the main area too much. Some of the virtual roulette tables were down so my husband and I weren't able to play together. It was OK but I wouldn't return. This review is not about the services within the casino and what it has to offer but I'm a bit concerned about securing the premises. I was standing outside of the casino because there was an outside concert that my brother happened to be playing there. Once that was over, me, and a few of my friends, while talking after the concert witnessed a bystander shatter, the windows of the casino at least three times with large rocks. I was really concerned that security along with the security cameras that were there that the security or Columbus police came out to get this individual. We actually stood out there and witnessed this crime and the only thing that they could tell us is that they did not have loss prevention when asked. We were also concerned that there was no hesitancy regarding the situation that happened at Hollywood Casino. I would strongly suggest in the future that security would be on post because you never know what people are carrying weapons to bring bodily harm to innocent bystanders like myself. The large rocks that were thrown made it inside the lobby area and could've hit someone in the head and injured them. That in itself is a liability. My best friend who witnessed this crime works for OSHA and talked to the shift manager of security explaining how concerning this situation is and how serious they should take that incident. read more

Parking lot is filled with pot holes. The casino is not in the greatest location. The penn play card did not keep track of points, at least mine didn't. The food places they offer are not that great and service at the sports bar was slow and food was cold. I would recommend scioto downs. read more

Friday the 13th was over and I was feeling lucky and decided to go on a solo mission to the casino. When I got in I gave the doorman my ID, he told me to take a step back and he shook his head. He then said that he probably wouldn't allow me to come into the casino tonight. I was confused and asked why, he then replied by stating that "you look too handsome tonight sir." I was oddly thrown off and just shook my head took my ID and proceeded to the slots. It was just an awkward and unexpected thing to hear at 3 AM. The night didn't get any better, I couldn't find my favorite machine and left out with only 4 cents of my spending money. I did get a few refreshing cups of lemonade though. Willy Wonka machine, $40 dollars and three hits, only one was $.75, the other two were $.02. So that's illegal in itself. Next, your $5 BJ game, dealer never busted on 4 or 5 cards. Magically, dealer would end up with 20. That's astronomically impossible. Three card poker, multiple times either a pair, or at least something that would be a very high percentage to beat the dealer. Nope, last card, magically it's what the dealer needed to win. Plus, one gentleman was told multiple times that he had to wait to look at his cards. The dealer allowed him and his friends to disrupt the game. $5 BJ game, each time I had face card, next card would be low. Place must need money to cheat players like this. This review is actually a combo for both the Casino and the Ohio Made Holiday Market which was held there this past weekend. I think it may have been all the good holiday vibes from the market, but the casino was definitely better than I had anticipated. It's no Vegas for sure, and you can't go there expecting that kind of experience, but for a Saturday outing it was pretty fun. We lost some money at the slot machines and then headed over to the Buffet for some lunch. Lunch buffet is $16 per person and they have a nice variety of dishes, including a make-your-own hot dog bar and pho bar. They had several different kinds of dim sum treats (bbq pork buns are so delicious), a pizza station, and an Italian food section. Desserts were the best part. I highly suggest the creme brûlée! Long lines at the teller windows equals long wait. decent amout of machines would not take tickets/ or player cards, A lot of machines were not working at all. most all the ATM machines/ticket redemption are out of service, Of course the slot machines , which are designed to take your money, well they do a great job at that. Not a bad casino for being built in an Ohio hood. You would never know you were on the west side of Columbus once you step inside. It was very clean. Games had nice spacing. Staff was friendly. My only complaint was that on one game it said my sister and myself both won $1000.00 but the payout was only $25.00. That's a significant difference. read more
