    The view from our room
    Kayla R.

Really wish we were staying here even longer. Stayed one Monday night for a work trip before having to leave and really enjoyed my experience here. The hotel lobby is located on the second floor. They do have parking which I believe you have to pay for. For check in, you can either check in at the bar or their little host stand they have. We checked in at the bar and even got a drink ticket we could use. The bar is open late too which is sooo nice. Check in was super easy. My friend and I split a king sized room. The rooms aren't too big so if you just simply need it for sleeping and that's really it, it's perfect. The bed was pretty comfy too and the bathroom was great and clean. The view from our room was amazing. The lobby was probably my favorite part. After going out we had a night cap there, played some pool and connect four before heading up to bed. The next day I also brought my laptop downstairs to work with their complimentary coffee. It was great! Definitely a fun experience. I wish we could have enjoyed their rooftop bar area too. Maybe next time!

Great view from my room of the city.

The Moxy location in the Short North is good and it is surrounded by some good restaurants. Check-in is at their 2nd floor bar which was cool and fun - it prompted me to get a nice drink! If I were staying for pleasure the room would have been fine, but it was a work trip and, as a result, I was disappointed that the room only had a really small table with a single chair in the king room. And the low height of the chair made typing on the little table uncomfortable on the wrists. I was also disappointed they didn't have room service, and even the valet parking has to be paid for separately and cannot be added to the hotel bill. The bed, while very low to the ground and with minimal room to navigate around it, was comfortable: the windows were large and gave great views of the city - so that was a plus. Another plus was they had a locker at the end of the hall for self service access to extra toilet paper, towels, tissues etc. My last comment is back to the not-so-great side. The bathroom could use some maintenance attention. The shower doors wouldn't stay closed and would randomly slide open while showering. The toilet had an unending dripping sound, and the toilet paper holder was in an odd location that made it difficult to reach when you needed it.

Love this hotel! This is the second time I've stayed at a Moxy, but my first time here. The staff is very friendly, the rooms are nice, clean, and modern. The rooms aren't huge, but the they don't need to be because the space is used well. While there's no closet, there are plenty of hooks on the wall, and some hangers as well. It was perfect for what we needed. I love that you get a drink token at check in! We chose to use it after we got back from a concert and enjoyed our Moxy Mai Tai's on their terrace. Location was also great to walk to shops and restaurants in Short North. The only thing I didn't love was that parking seemed a little steep for Columbus, Ohio, but I think it was because this is in the heart of Short North.

Stayed for one night and had a great experience. My room had a balcony which was awesome and there is a rooftop terrace for everyone. All of the staff that I interacted with, from check in to bartenders, were great. If I'm ever in the area, I would definitely stay here again.

I stayed here for a night and wished it was longer. Yes the rooms are small, but you should know that going in. It's a european style similar to Aloft where they use the space in a creative but functional way. I used the elevator to get to the lobby on the 2nd floor and checked in at the bar. I think it's odd that you get a room keycard an elevator keycard, because that seems like it could be fixed. Another odd thing was having not having an ice bucket in the room. It's great that they have them by the ice machines, but how would you know without a note or something. Sometimes the buckets are gone too which is annoying. Otherwise, I loved my stay and had a great night at the Moxy. It's location is great and has so much to offer steps outside the door. After dinner and drinks, a few of us hung out in the lobby which stays open late. We played pool, connect four, and had the whole place to ourselves. I'll definitely keep an eye out for Moxy's when I'm traveling now.

The rooms are tiny. Microscopically tiny. They're even smaller than the Microtel rooms I've stayed in. However, those tiny rooms are the "price" you pay for one of the cheaper downtown hotel options that's located in the middle of a lot of nightlife options. Know what you're getting (cheaper price, trendy look/feel) and giving up (lots of comfortable space, easy access to lots of hotel things you probably take for granted) before staying here. Definitely consider valet parking here. Weirdly enough, parking overnight in one of the Short North garages actually MORE expensive than simply doing valet. That's insane. There are multiple late night spots located in and next to the Moxy. If you're sensitive to noise, request a higher floor for sure. PROS: -Early check in and late checkout. You can be here as early as 3PM and leave at late as noon. Having these as standard hours is awesome - but it does mean that housekeeping was still turning rooms over when we were walking around the hotel at 6PM. 3 hours is definitely not enough time for a hotel to turn over the entire thing. -The toilet is gigantic and sturdy. It's weird that this is a point worth mentioning, but for a room that's microscopic in size, the toilet is big. I'd almost guess it's a bariatric toilet. The bathroom is small for navigating in, but the toilet and shower are roomy. -Really pretty space. The hotel itself is definitely going for that trendy, Gen Z feel. Lots of neon lights with contrasting dark colors. Lots of bright and colorful art. -The bathrooms in the breakfast/bar area are all-gender. They're actually really cool. In the middle of the room is a gigantic sink area. Circling around that sink area are a bunch of tiny rooms that either have just a toilet or just a urinal in them. Tons of privacy while still maintaining an all-gender space. I'm really impressed. -Free check-in beer/wine. You get a token at check-in that can be redeemed for a drink. You can redeem it where you stand, if you want, because the hotel's check-in/guest service desk also doubles as the bar. It's an odd set-up, but it kinda works. (I'm not sure if I'd agree that "bartender" and "guest service representative" are usually overlapping skillsets for an employee, though.) CONS: -The room is tiny. Microscopically tiny. Like, there's not even a closet. There's a floor-wide area that has ironing boards and extra blankets/pillows. Even the two bedside tables are tiny AF and weirdly low (about half the height of the bed). We're talking "When I got here with a cup of coffee in hand, the only place to put it was on the bathroom sink" level of "no room". It is, by far, the smallest hotel room I've ever stayed in. This can work out okay if you're just here as a sleeping spot while exploring the nearby nightlife, but if you plan on spending extended time in the room, this is not your spot. Like, even sitting on the bed to do work (a standard for me) won't work because the bedside table is simply too short and small to support food/drinks while I'm trying to work. -Weigh your valet parking options. Weirdly enough, self-parking in the nearby garage was more expensive. We saw the 12+ hour rate of $25 and figured we'd save the ten dollars on valet by self-parking. We didn't realize that the "12+ hours" clock restarts at 6AM. Which means that when we checked out at 10AM, we had added an additional four hours of parking fees. Which made it now more expensive than valet. -The elevators are those weird card-operated elevators. There's a screen panel outside of the elevator that requires your key card to select a floor. This isn't a big deal when you're by yourself, but when you're trying to slide onto an elevator while others are also using it, there are NO buttons inside the elevator. So you have to get off the elevator on whatever floor those people went to and use the screen at that floor - then get back in the elevator.

At first, this seemed like a cute hotel with a hipster vibe. You checked in at the bar and got a token for a drink. The room was super small and if you wanted to put your clothes anywhere, you had to put them in drawers under the bed, where it would be easy to forget them. There is no other furniture other than the bed. The hotel begins on the second floor of the building because there's a bar on the first floor, which is pretty noisy. This was no big deal once you're in your room though. During my two-night stay, the first night was fine. Friday night was a nightmare because music pulsed through the entire building, literally causing the floor to vibrate. After finally calling the front desk, the manager explained that there was a club on the roof that they don't own, so there was nothing he could do other than bring me a white noise machine. He told me that the music would stop at 2 a.m. I was in Columbus for work. Hotels exist so people can sleep. Why would there be parties on the roof of a hotel? This was the most ridiculous experience I've ever had at a hotel. I would never stay here again. Please spare yourself from a similar experience.

Friends and I have been meaning to check out the bar at Moxy since it first opened a while back. Based on the photos I've seen on social, it looked like a pretty dope spot. It's in the new, taller building at the intersection of Hubbard and High streets in the Short North (directly above Townhall). We arrived on a Saturday night around eight and traveled up the staircase to find a bar and rather large lounge area. There was cool lighting, neat art on the walls, the restrooms were clean, and the bartenders were quick. I was with a group of five and we all got drinks and relaxed watching a little March Madness basketball. After a few shots of tequila and the final buzzer, we were on our way. The view down High St. was pretty cool and they had pool tables, which will get me back here sooner rather than later. If you're looking for a neat cocktail lounge, give this new place a visit. Word on the street is you can even get food from the restaurant downtown stairs and eat it up here with your drinks.

Cute bathroom. Terrible shower head with no pressure.

We then find out that our rate has gone from $187 to approximately $500 a night for the remaining stay. Of course we are shocked. It was great having the hotel and the convention center being connected without having to go outside. I found the hotel in good condition with great hotel rooms, great food options, and great service. The cost was also quite reasonable both at the conference rate and general Hyatt member rate. I also used status to get some nice perks at the hotel and was pleased overall with my experience. Prior to arriving to the hotel, I used a Suite Upgrade Award to receive an upgrade from a King Room to a 1-Bedroom Suite (King). When I arrived at the resort, I inquired about a further upgrade using my Globalist status, and after confirming that there was a VIP Suite available, they were able to provide me a further upgrade even though they acknowledged that this was based on availability and that Globalists typically only receive upgrades to standard suites. I really appreciate the flexibility the hotel provided at that time! I ate breakfast each day at the Market Stand restaurant where they had a buffet during the weekend and items could be ordered from the menu on other days (including the weekend). I also ordered drinks and dinner one night at the Big Bar on 2, which also hosted several receptions and socials during the time I was at the hotel. I also received two cards each good for a free appetizer and free non-alcoholic drink, which I used on the last day of my stay. Again, great service and tasty food and drinks. The housekeeping service was good even though I sometimes needed to inquire at the front desk about daily bottles of water. The room was in good condition with the exception of ants that were appearing from no where (and that I didn't drag in with me). They were only noticed on the last day and were in the corner of the bathroom and kitchenette. Otherwise, the suite was large and very spacious! They also brought me a birthday pie/cake since they knew I was celebrating. Otherwise, everything was top notch. If you are staying at a Hyatt Regency and have Globalist status for staying 60 nights at a Hyatt over the year, you can get bonus point accrual, early check-in, late check-out, upgrades at check-in based on available (to suites), free breakfast in the hotel restaurant (in this case the buffet at the Springhouse Cafe), elite check-in, and free parking (if booked on points) among other benefits. There are also occasional challenges where if you stay 20 nights in 90 days, you can get Globalist benefits for the next year. If I am traveling back to Downtown Columbus in the future, I'll certainly plan on staying here again. I certainly recommend it!

The room itself was large, clean and very comfortable bed. We did not make use of the restaurants, but they appear to be good. It was an enjoyable stay!

Very nice upscale hotel…read more Location is good, near lots of shopping and lots of food options!!! Also near the Crew stadium and just down the street from a super cute little quiet park with lots of walking paths. The only bummer is the club directly across the street that was bumping profane music, which was kind of annoying. DON'T park in the parking adjacent to the hotel in the liquor store parking lot. It looks like you can pay to park but the church reserves the lot for Sundays so you WILL GET TOWED if your car is in there overnight. We didn't realize it said 3am, not 3pm, so both our car and my father in-law's car got towed. Luckily the tow lot is just .9miles down the street so just a walk away. I guess we'll just valet and stay in the hotel parking lot next time, would be worth it. Cute rooms! Very nice, clean, tidy, well laid out with lots of little amenities throughout for how compact the room is. Big bathroom, which is nice!!! LOTS of outsets and USB outlets for charging. Definitely no view in the room we had though. We could just see the cement ceiling part of whatever hotel structure is below us. They could possibly put some decor or something low maintenance out there just for some sort of view. The room coffee was decent! I appreciated the two creamers included, some hotels don't include any creamer, which it at that point the coffee is pointless to me. Luckiy my fiance drinks his black so I was able to use the creamers. I appreciated this little detail. I also do like the full size shampoo/conditioner/body wash in the rooms, as sometimes those tiny little things don't even have enough in one for my hair alone let alone anyone else that is staying with me. We had these rooms on points so value for the price I'm honestly not sure. But I definitey wasn't dissappointed by any means!

Updating review and dropping it down a star. Stayed here for a three day weekend and booked a suite…read moreas Hilton Honor members. Once again room was clean, modern and had beautiful views. Thermostat didn't seem to be working well, but I had a personal fan that helped at night while we slept. We would turn it down to 68, and the temp never dropped beyond 72. We also called to request a pillow and blanket since we had a pullout couch...And they just delivered us two sheets. No pillow, no comforter, and nothing supplied in the room. Had a bite to eat at the downstairs bar again. Food was good, but bartender both Friday and Saturday night didn't seem like he wanted to be there. No personality and seemed annoyed when we would order drinks or food. Just had a very lazy attitude about him. We did head up to the rooftop bar this time and it was amazing. Bartenders were super friendly and the views were beautiful at night. We asked for a late checkout on Monday morning bc our daughter was at a volleyball camp all day, and the receptionist was extremely rude (putting it nicely). She gave us an extra half hour - which didn't do much for us. Hilton members, staying in a suite and it's a Monday morning ... didn't see why that was asking much. Overall we will stay here again bc we love the amenities and it's a beautiful hotel. Just lacked service this time around.

Awful experience! First night our room was 80 degrees. The next morning we requested maintenance…read morecome fix it. We went back at 5pm still 80 after maintenance apparently fixed it. They " fixed" it again but still not cool. They finally moved us rooms that evening. The next room the thermostat read 68 but we had our own thermometer and the new room was reading 78 on our thermometer We had 2 nights of no sleep and no one could do anything. We asked for a manger but she was not available, we called corporate but they said there was no one for them to contact. I just can't believe that there was no one in charge to help us. They offered us $100 off! I mean really we paid $800 for 2 nights of misery . Don't stay here, if there is an issue there is no one in charge to take care of issues that arise.
