We made a 90 minute reservation for a Saturday night for a friend's birthday. When we arrived early they were able to work us in, which was appreciated! The shoes were clean and the check in process was easy. We had a group of 8 on one lane, and played Hyperbowl the entire time. We got through 4 games and maybe halfway through a 5th. This game mode is unique and different, the bumpers are up and based on where your bowling ball touches the bumper, you get different multipliers on your resulting score from knocking down the pins. Each round the zones and multipliers are different. Our group was asked if we wanted to order anything as we were getting set up and putting on shoes, but they never came by to check on us after we said to give us a few minutes. read more

The Westerville Chamber held a Lunch & Learn presentation at Star Lanes' conference room in January! It was a 5 star event. We used the room's AV equipment, and excellent boxed lunches were provided to attendees, as well as drinks. The room easily accommodated our group of 40+. Even though we did not partake of the fun activities there for this event, this location was easily accessed by all with ease in parking. Don't rule out this location for a corporate meeting. Yesterday was the first time I've been to Star Lanes. We went for my friend's birthday, and even though we didn't book in advance, we were sent to the VIP area. First impressions were wow, it's really dark in here. Immediately after starting our first game of bowling, we realized the lane wasn't waxed/oiled. The balls were just gliding down towards the pins instead of spinning. That was just a minor setback, but it took some getting used to. In the middle of one of our games, the lane broke down and we had to get help. It didn't take much to fix it for us, but the time wasn't added back to our game. The cocktails were expensive, as expected, but I ordered a Pink Elephant. It was pretty good and VERY STRONG. I usually don't feel much after one drink but I was feeling it halfway through this drink. Wow, Star Lanes Polaris covers all the bases of fun for all ages of the spectrum! This is a great spot to spend some time with a group. For kids, they have tons of things to keep them busy: a big arcade (with ticketed prizes), virtual reality, bowling, and food. For adults, the same, with the addition of a sizable bar and alcohol served throughout. We came just for the bowling and bites and had a great time. Their top notch facility provided fun for everyone and the menu (drinks and food) was fantastic - everything was so tasty! One point of disappointment was that the time-on-lane is strictly enforced. And I get it, it's all computerized, but we were literally on our last bowler in the tenth frame when our time ran out and all scores were cleared. I'd ask that, on a not-so-busy night (like when we were there) they pay little closer attention to this type of occurrence. Busy nights, sure, no can do. But slow nights, it'd be a nice perk. Bought a $50 arcade card for my 7 year old son. The VR game he liked but both headsets will not sinch down when you tighten them. So after 30 seconds it's completely off where it needs to be unless you hold it in place...which defeats the purpose of VR. The claw machines are set where the clamps aren't tight so holding on to anything requires more luck than trying to win against the Kansas City referees. The game where you throw the balls at the clowns to knock them down required me to throw it as if I was playing in an actual league game. Anything less and the clowns laugh at you as they take your money. The last straw for us was the claw machine with the mega dum dum suckers in it. If you play this you might as well chop it up and know you're a mega dum dum in human form. We had enough and walked out. We will not be back read more

We ended up at Star Lanes for a 10 person birthday party after our movie theater reservation got messed up. After looking at the alley's website it says walk-ins welcome. They do take walk-ins but reservations are strongly suggested! On a Saturday night we ended up waiting 2 hours for two lanes. The employees were super nice and helpful. They found us a table while we were waiting so we could eat birthday cake and open presents. While we waited we played billiards and the arcade games. Our first pool table took 20 credits and was broken. The staff helped us out and refunded the game credits for us. After waiting to get our lanes. The bowling itself was so expensive! It cost us $70 per lane for an hour. We probably would have been fine to play billiards and the arcade games without the bowling and still have had a good time. This was not necessarily the safest place to go during the pandemic. Our waitress was not wearing her mask. The bowling balls and games do not get cleaned (at least that I saw during our 3 hours there). There were a lot of people there. They were spaced out but many people were running around the place without their mask on. read more

I had the most amazing experience here. My 4 friends and I came for 2 hours of bowling. To rent shoes and get a lane it was $127. The alley is so nice and gives off fun adult vibes. When you rent a lane a server comes directly to your lane to take your order. They also have an actual restaurant/bar area you can sit at if you want. Our server was Shelly and she did an amazing job. We ordered a Pitcher of the Pink Elephant ($30), the Platter w/ Mozzarella Sticks, Potato Skins, Onion Rings, and Chicken Bites($18), 12 Fried Wings( $18). The drink was delicious! Of the food, I really enjoyed the Mozzarella Sticks and the Potato Skins. I would probably eat before next time and just get drinks/bowl.They had a lot of game options outside of bowling as well. We came here with my father in law while we were in town visiting. We came on a Sunday afternoon and it wasn't crowded at all. They have about 10-15 lanes as well as an arcade. They either charge you $35/hour or $7/person/game. The person gave us bad advice and told us it would take 1.5 hours to play 2 games, but luckily we ignored her and paid for an hour instead. We were able to finish 2.5 games in an hour with 3 people. Overall, I would say this is just your average bowling alley. Nothing special -- good or bad -- about it. read more

I never leave reviews but I had to applaud Kayla, who was greeted with a surprise 20+ top when my family trickled in over last weekend. She got all of our orders promptly, kept our water, beer and soda glasses full and was extremely kind and understanding. If she was losing her patience, she didn't show it on her face even a bit. I appreciate her being flexible and keeping track of my lovable and plentiful family entirely by herself. While I didn't bowl, I had a great time with air hockey with both my father and I leaving winners against my cousins. And the steak is a lot better than you would expect from a bowling alley. We had a discount coupon so we decided to take advantage of it and head up here for dinner. We both had their Grilled wings and split a "tower" of onion rings. It is very hard to find grilled wings in this area so we were happy they had them on their menu. The food was great and their drinks were good too. The wings were cooked perfectly and so were the onion rings. The facility is huge and very well maintained. There were games for people of all ages and sizes. Super clean and smooth operating lanes with new and comfortable shoes. Service is excellent and reserving made the experience a breeze. Also I have to admit I really prefer the separation of lanes...... it's much nicer for privacy and not feeling overlapped with large groups or big families. We had a great time bowling and goofing around with my family and nieces for my birthday. Yes, not a kid's bday, but a 32 year old kid who had wanted to go bowling for the past 5 years with friends yet never got to. The shoe rentals are inexpensive at $4/ pair, but the lanes are pricier at $25/hour. Also, be aware that the hour clock starts from the time you pay. We got in line, paid, and then waited a few minutes for people to show up, and little did we know the count-down had begun. But we still had a great time. The food, no surprise is fairly expensive for being only somewhat above average. The facility is very clean! It's new, so it's not like the '70/80s lanes we all grew up in that reeked of smoke. I think the term "bowling alley" is a misnomer. While there's a decent number of lanes here, it's really more of an entertainment hub than just a bowling alley. Star Lanes Polaris has a very nice bar / restaurant area with great options for lunch or dinner, They also have a lot of attractive food specials too. There's a really nice arcade here. They have a large number of games there that you can play for tickets and redeem for prizes. I've got my eye on that remote controlled helicopter at just 29,700 points. I figure I'm going to get that prize by playing one of my all-time my favorite arcade games... Skee Ball! They've also got a VIP Lounge with separate lanes, a private bar and dedicated restrooms for company / private events which is how I heard about it with the Yelp Elite event last month. One last thing, it's a newer place so it doesn't have that stale cigarette funk that most bowling alleys have. A definite plus for us non-smokers. read more

I have gone here on a few occasions and I'll pull from these three occasions for my review because all were with different crowds: date night with my wife, guys night with friends, and a family night with our children and friends. First off, this place is not for the serious bowler. Actually, I love the concept of this entertainment venue. It feels like a swanky bowling alley and reminds me of two places I used to go: one near Baltimore and one in DC. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere feels upscale, much more than your average bowling alley. I appreciate the selection of draft beers, the food selection, the choice between the bowling alley and the Dave and Buster's-style arcade (games for both kids and adults) , and the waiter/waitress service on the lanes. Giant big-screen TVs above the bowling lanes and lack of lighting can be a bit distracting, but I can live with that. Monday special: $2 shoe rental, $2 bowling games, $2 (select!!) drafts, and $2 (select!!) appetizers. I don't remember seeing the specifics on those Monday special apps and drafts on the website, so we were a bit surprised to find that there were only two $2 apps and I am not sure what the $2 drafts referred to, because ours were $2.50-$3.50, even after we brought it to our waiter's attention - he told us he was unaware that they were more than $2. Still fairly cheap for good beer so I accepted it and didn't complain. The lanes are well-kept and the computer scoring is top notch with lots of novelty options like graphics, putting your picture on screen, and other things. Great for a family night or for just goofing around with friends. (you can even post to facebook if you're logged in on their system...) I also love the jukebox that you can control from your smartphone app "Rockbot". Sweet. My only real complaint comes with the new sign that was posted this last time I went in. The sign tells me that they've installed new pinsetters and therefore, HIGHLY recommend against using your own bowling ball. Apparently, their pinsetters will ruin your bowling ball... I confirmed this with our waiter, who advised against us using our own as well. They have decent balls there to use, but for the serious bowler, this is a dealbreaker! At least I can still bring my own bowling shoes? To wrap up, if I'm going out for a night of messing around with friends, my wife, or my kids, sure I'd go here again (especially for the Monday special!) But this is not a place for serious bowling and I can appreciate that to a certain extent. But if I was running a bowling alley, I'd be sure to have machines that wouldn't ruin a bowler's bowling equipment. read more

Arrived at 815pm departed at 1145pm I see a lot of people were complaining about the service of the staff. Not sure what they are talking about but today the service was A1!! They were busy so we had about an almost 2 hour wait to bowl. We choice to eat and talk. Figured some people would drop off and they did. As soon as we were done eating our Lane was ready. The lighting was just right for a Saturday evening. A few young kids there but they were well behaved. I had the mushroom Swiss burger. Was okay. Could have had more seasoning on the burger patty itself. Fries were good, boneless wings are top notch. Not all that excessive breaking like other places(Applebee's). My wife and her friend ordered a pizza also. That was pretty good. The lanes and seating was ready nice. Clean, large and firm leather couches. The servers also come there too if you want drinks or food. Got my extra drinks and they checked on me just often enough to where it wasn't overbearing and annoying. I enjoyed the more adult based atmosphere. They have private VIP lanes that are isolated from the public lanes which is pretty dope. I will be honest, this place is more expensive then most at $40 an hour per lane but it is worth it to me. Not a traditional lay out with basic food, 80s carpet and dirty bathrooms. This is a modern bowling alley better then the rest. I paid a premium fee for a premium place. I will be coming back. read more

I bought a groupon for Star Lanes and we just redeemed it for an amazing date night! I am a fitness fanatic and they made my burger on a lettuce bun (I was shocked at how easy it was to ask for and how perfectly executed it was!). The staff was on top of it and tended to us throughout our adventure. After dinner and drinks we played in the game room and had a blast! Not only did we (mid 20s females) get SUPER into the terminator shooting game, but an amazing man there (worker) let us try this amazing experience game where the seats moved and it felt like we were in the ride! The guy talked to us throughout our adventure and I wish so badly we would have gotten his name. He was amazing! We will definitely be returning. So much fun! read more
