Went to Brew Brothers last night to celebrate my birthday a little early (the big day isn't until this coming Monday). A group of my buddies -- we call ourselves the GCBs (Grove City Boys) -- got together for dinner, laughs, and a night out. When we arrived, the restaurant was about half full, and we were greeted quickly by our server. Unfortunately, I didn't catch her name because we were all busy talking and catching up, but service was friendly and attentive right from the start. For food, I ordered the battered chicken tenders with honey mustard and fries, and another guy at the table got the same. One buddy went with chicken wings, another had a great-looking burger topped with an egg, one ordered the Asian crunch salad, and another got the fish and chips. The food came out fast, and everyone really enjoyed their meals. The only downside was the fish and chips, which were a bit overcooked and kind of hard -- but everyone else was happy with what they ordered. As a special surprise, the staff brought out a warm brownie with vanilla ice cream and sang Happy Birthday to me, which was a really nice touch and totally unexpected. Checks were cashed out promptly, and then we were off to do a little gambling. If you're looking for upscale bar food, this is definitely your kind of place. They also have large tables, which makes it great for groups. Overall, it was a good experience -- and hey, we even won some money! A great early birthday celebration. Brew Brothers is within Scioto Downs Racino. See the hostess for seating, they have bar, dining room, and outside seating available. Our waitress was attentive and checked on us throuhgout the meal. We ordered our dinner as a group of 4. It took forever to get our meals. We waited about 45 minutes for our food to arrive at the table. Thankfully our little group was busy catching up. I originally ordered a side ceasar with my philly cheesesteak. The lettuce was slimy and enedible. I took one bite and put it to the side. I let our server know, thankfully she offered me french fries and took the upcharge back off my bill. The sandwich and fries were decent. The fries had a nice crisp and just the right amount of seasoning on them. It was nice to have dinner and then go to the casino floor and listen to the Friday night band. Stopped in on the Ale Trail and were impressed with the number of beers on tap. There were many new options from the last time we visited. We decided on a quesdilla, soup, salad and sweet potato fries. All arrived quickly and were well made. The portion sizes were nice and the service was great as well. read more

This review is based on two visits... Highlights: If I was reviewing the beer by itself, this place would get full marks. The price is right and both types I tried were great! So if you want some great fries, cheese curds, or onion rings and beer, go for it. Servers were friendly, quick to bring anything that is needed, and sufficiently attentive. Huge dining area, so would definitely be great for groups. Everything seems clean and there are quite a few TVs in the main area where people can watch sports. Challenges: The food is pretty decent, but had some hiccups. For whatever reason the burger was very unevenly cooked...part of it was rare. (Was supposed to be well done). Fish and chips are on par with others I have had but the tartar sauce is fire. It's also delicious on the fries. Buffalo chicken wraps are so close...they needed another piece of chicken in there for the price and more sauce. They could have passed for regular chicken wraps. The hostess is not nice. I get we came in slightly past 8 on our second trip, but as others have said if you list that you close at 9, people expect you to stop seating at that time, not act like you are an inconvenience. (She acted like we were bothering her the other time as well). There were also a group of employees near us when we walked out and no one said "thanks for coming" or "hope to see you again" "have a good night..." Nothing. My husband and I eat here frequently. our experience has usually been a positive one. Last time I ordered the chicken wings. It came with celery. I was very shocked to see what the celery looked like. When I asked to talk to the manager, sh came over and I showed her the celery and she said "oh we will have to do better next time. She never even said would you like some new celery or apologized. I had to ask for some fresh celery., this celery looks like it's been sitting out for months or even possibly dug out from the trash and put on my plate.! read more

I have been to Brew Brothers many times about 30-40 minutes before they close and have received dirty looks and comments like "you know we close at 9". Tonight at 825 I was told they were no longer seating and "I'm sure I dont want my dinner rushed". This is absurd. If you are open until 9 the you seat until 9. If you work in any service industry you know your shift isn't over when the doors close. There's restocking, prep work, or cleaning to do. This used to be one of my favorite places. Great for large groups! We rolled up here on Mother's Day with our baseball team that was participating in a nearby tournament and all the families. It was about 30 people total and we originally had a reservation for 10. Harcel the General manager made it happen and we were all seated and served quickly and efficiently. Lucy and our other server did a top notch job of making sure we all had refills and everything we needed. Super impressed by the ambiance, service, quick turn time and big portions. I've had my eye on this place for a while. On date night, my wife and I decided to try it out. I was previously interested in the burgers, but I decided to get the fish. The food came out pretty quickly. The piece of fish was huge. But unfortunately, it was tasteless. Luckily, the tartar sauce was tasty enough to save the day. This platter was not cheap, so it was a bit disappointing that the fish didn't have any flavor. The fries are above average, I ended up asking the server for an extra tartar to dip my fries in. Ordered the Johnny Marzetti. They brought it out in a bowl and spoon. Johnny Marzetti is not soup. It wasn't described as such. And it was awful. Came with 2 pieces of garlic bread that had no garlic on them and were very dry. We went to Brews Brothers because all the other restaurants had sketchy reviews. It was my first time at The Brew Brothers and possibly Eldorado Scioto Downs. The Meatloaf with Mashed Potatoes was great despite the green beans being suspect. I would order another vegetable with the Meatloaf. I will try their burgers too. Roberta was great in taking care of the table I was at. If I was a beer drinker, I would drink their beers instead of ordering bottled beer because I saw people order bottled beer instead of their own beers. The ambiance was great with The Brew Brothers and got to check the Harness Racing at Scioto Downs. I will come back to The Brew Brothers, Eldorado Scioto Downs, and the new Guy Fieri Italian restaurant there. read more

After 9 hours on the road, my wife and I decided to stay at the Hampton Inn connected to the Scioto Downs casino since there were restaurants on-site. We had our puppy with us and we saw on the Brew Brothers website that they did to-go orders. We assumed that would be good since we didn't want to leave our pup alone in the hotel room. I went to the host desk and inquired about a to-go order. I was told, "we aren't doing to-go orders because it's taking too long to get food out of the kitchen and we have to take care of seated customers first". How lame is that...? I would agree with others here who have stated that this is a nice spot, but not quite a "destination" brewery if you're not either staying at the hotel or spending some time at the casino. I had friends who were passing through the area, and met up with them here, as they spent the night at the attached hotel, Hampton Inn. This was an area I had no familiarity with during my years living in Columbus, and with construction on 270, it did take me a few wrong turns/detours to figure out where I was going, but once you get there, you can't miss it! Nice enough place, whether you're coming to gamble (we didn't) eat (we did...) or stay at the hotel (they did, I didn't). Quiet on a Tuesday evening, but I'm sure it gets a lot busier. The service at the restaurant/brewery was fine, prices were reasonable enough, and food was ok, nothing terrible nor earth-shattering. I had a meatball sub and a side salad, along with one of their brews, which was supposed to taste like French toast (?!?) but didn't... This is a perfectly acceptable, convenient spot if you're staying at this hotel and/or gambling here at the casino. There are not a ton of other dining options in the area, so go for it... It is a hit or miss there. Last two times the chicken was dried out. To much salt on sides and steak. This time everything was good. Had to ask for crispy bacon for my huge Cobb salad with fried chicken instead of grilled. The wings were nice a juicy this time. The Mac and cheese is way better with the Ohio Chipotle Gouda sauce than what they usually use. The burnt ends are always good. The Macho Nachos is huge, enough for 4 plus servings. The only reason to eat here is to avoid driving. We had a party of 9 for a business function. They do not take reservations, but no trouble getting seated at 6pm on a Wednesday. The beer is not terribly good. Can't recommend any of the choices. I ordered the Half rack of ribs. Came with 2 sides. Only choices were baked potato or fries. Vegetable was green beans, with no substitutions. Potato served with foil-wrapped butter Pattie's and a small dollop of sour cream. Ribs were doused in a thick red BBQ sauce that was pretty tasty, but ice cold. Ribs were very tough; so tough they were hard to cut apart with a steak knife. Others had salmon (rated OK), chicken Alfredo (not great), and the 8oz sirloin (also just OK). Drinks came quickly, but food took over 45 minutes after ordering. Restaurant closes at 8pm, so we finished right around closing time. Since it is so convenient to the Hampton inn, I probably will eat here again next trip, but I will stick to burgers and fries. read more

Brew Brothers is another brewpub. It's located at the Scioto Downs Eldorado casino. This has pretty good beer but it has problems. One is that they have no happy hour. The food is okay but it's mostly fried stuff. It's attached to the casino. Most people seem like they come here for the casino and just happen to get something at the pub. The brewpub isn't a place you come to the casino only for that. It's just for when you get something while gambling. Beer is kind of overpriced, and so is the food. It doesn't help with them getting rid of the happy hour. They used to have very good specials. A beer is now something like $6 for a pint. The menu is very meat centric, with almost no options for vegetarians. Chips and guacamole are about $6 for a good size portion. This is one of the healthier things. It has some good beer. It's a nice diversion from the casino. This is only worth it if you're already there. read more
