Thrilled that they are back open! Don't judge based on the outside, the inside is tastefully funky in decor. We had a wonderful night at Hollywood Gardens, but sadly my pictures didn't turn out! We meet some friends here and grabbed some drinks, dinner, and some more drinks. There was only really two waitresses and one was also the bartender! They tried their best but you could tell they were overwhelmed. We ordered some beers as well as mixed drinks. For dinners, we ordered burgers, chicken sandwiches, fries, Mac and cheese, and chicken thighs...all were wonderful! We can't wait to go back. read more

I need to update my review, since we gone several times and unfortunately the past few times there are major issues with the kitchen delivering food at a reasonable time. I understand that the restaurant can get busy, but customers waiting almost an hour for any food at all (even a salad) is borderline ridiculous. The owner needs to seriously consider hiring additional kitchen staff for the dinner rush. The food is really great, but it's disappointing that it sometimes takes so long! Also, there are several times where the one or two servers serving the entire restaurant are clearly overwhelmed and running behind, yet I never see the owner helping out - always just hanging out behind the bar. Your staff needs you! Overall we still enjoy this restaurant a lot but will no longer visit during times that may become busy. read more

One of our new favorite places. Yes, we knew the beer was good, great actually (and its about to get even better with their own brews as well), but the food is worth the trip as well. We had some great soup two weeks ago, a cream of mushroom with spinach, roasted garlic (yum!) and chicken...it was delicious. Also had a Shepherd's Pie that had a bar-b-q twist to it...fantastic! Their cheese plate is definitely the best in the area and is hard to beat even when we travel. If you haven't been here and you drive by you will either 1. miss it, as there is no great signage, or 2. think I am crazy because even when you know where it is at, you are not expecting it to look SOOO nice inside. I guess they like being incognito... They are a full bar, so don't be afraid to go if you aren't into beer. But if you love good, quality beer (like I do) then this is your place! Wow, new favorite bar in Beaver County! No tvs, beercentric and a cool patio to boot! Dive Bar turned Gastropub! Hollywood Gardens has an awesome selection of beers in thier beer cave as well as a full service bar serving upscale pub grubs. If in the area do not let the non discript sign out front detour you. It is dark, cozy and friendly in here. You can tell the staff cares about quality in all they serve. The bartender let us try a sip of the guest draft before commiting to a whole glass. Still a good review. Apparently on Wednesdays they have chicken thighs for $1 a piece. Portions are huge. My son got 3 chicken thighs and Mac & cheese, he said both were good. I got the Hollywood burger with fries. I had to cut the cheeseburger in half and took the other half home. We also had the bruschetta. Service was really quick and the servers were all nice. Only downfall I'd say is space. We were at a table for 4 and did not have a lot of room on the table. We managed though. read more

I just started going to Hollywood Gardens. I really liked the decor and the servers I had (on my first two visits) were super friendly. I really liked the vibe..The chicken Thighs were delicious...plus the sandwich I had ok... Loved the beer I tried..So, i was excited to bring my boyfriend, tonight...and show him the place. We showed up at 6:30 and the place was, understandably, crowded. There were four people in front of us and the (tall) waitress who was addressing them seemed overwhelmed. Although it was super obvious we were all standing there, Instead of greeting us all, she walked right by us..agitated. The first four people ahead of us walked to the patio section on their own and, apparently, sat themselves. We were still standing. No one greeted us. No one even looked our way. Another couple walked through the door, snuck past us -and the woman seated herself at the bar..while the man stood behind her scoping the place for a table..apparent friends of the middle aged (plus) curly haired male bartender. So, I went up to the (tall) young waitress/hostess? and asked her if she needed to take our names.. explained to her that others had come in behind us, sat at the bar, but we were first and still waiting. Flustered she said "we don't take names here..it's just super busy"....and walked away..(ok?!) so I went back to stand with my date..and wait for a table to open. Another five minutes passed and a table of six started to leave..so, me and my date went to the table to sit down. Suddenly, the mean bartender comes from his thrown....to our table and, disapprovingly, tells us we can't sit there because the couple at the bar came first. "Naaa ugh! Not true!"I told him. We were standing there first..and they walked in the door and snuck past us..and the Mean Bartender was fighting mad and said "Look..you will lose this argument with me.." I was stunned..wtf! ? The food menu is much renovated......needed it, not that it wasn't good, but the new one is more pedestrian. Probably more appealing to a larger segment of this market. Remember, this is "downtown" Rochester. Big and luscious burgers, lots of bacon! The draft menu is superb and always changing. If you don't like it this week, come back next week. My first trip here all I have to say is WOW! What an excellent menu, the friendliest staff and other customers as well. How to describe my meal, hmm I started with the seafood soup and let me tell you it gives anyplace in downtown Pittsburgh a run for its money. Then I had the falafel sandwich thinking I was going with a lighter meal... ha I only ate half it was at least a half pound, my side was homemade Mac n cheese done absolutely perfectly a bit of crisp on top... yumm. Our favorite Brixton Brews are gone, I don't think they have their owner brewed beers anymore now just super strong craft beers, we miss the Matthew. Learned that it has been open since 1952, and the next generation revamped the format to include microbrews and reasonably-priced food. Pleasantly surprised to see this in the heart of Beaver County. This spot was a very pleasant surprise. A very creative and talented chef. We expected pub type cuisine, which is there. But the surprise was the dinner special A seared tuna that was excellent. Done perfectly. Wonderful choice of sandwich and salads, beyond the ordinary. I had a grilled chicken breast sandwich with bruschetta that was excellent. Not sloppy and easy to enjoy, and tried a Voodoo ale craft beer, also excellent. The Rumba was also excellent. This is a creative. Menu. I plan on going again soon. Not an expensive spot, bu high end quality. It is not a fine dining atmosphere, but friendly and quite good. Much higher than average. Good food and excellent craft beer choices.
