We reserved a table for 4 on the bar side of the restaurant as we prefer the lively atmosphere over the quiet dinning room. Food ordering was efficient and prompt. We all had something different, salads were fresh and plentiful. Food was fresh, well presented and fairly priced. The server was professional, friendly and readily available when needed. Stopped in for dinner and was glad we gave it another chance. Sat at the bar and Rocco was great. The service was quick and friendly. The "power Hour" old fashioned was delicious as was the Tom Collins. It was comfortable yet somewhat loud at the bar seating. I got the sanctuary steak with the boom shrimp on top. The shrimp was delicious. The steak seemed somewhat unseasoned under the boat sauce and it was kind of chewy. My wife got a hamburger and fries. Again somewhat under seasoned. Stopped in to say hello to a friend, and ended up trying a bite of the Boomin Shrimp. 10/10, WOW it was fantastic!! Shrimp was cooked wonderfully, the sauce was the perfect blend of sweet and spicy for me, and had so much flavor. There was also a ton of sauce on them. It was delicious, probably the best boomin shrimp I've ever had. read more

I really liked this local pub. It had a cozy atmosphere, and the staff rocked. The moment you sit down at the bar, you can tell that there is a lot of love for this local waterhole. We started off with an appetizer of Boom shrimp, covered in creamy sauce on a bed of tangy red cabbage.. yum! Next, we each had one of their signature sandwiches: my cousin had a massive fish sandwich while I chowed down on a chicken parmigiana sandwich.... Double Yum!! Be prepared to wait forever for drinks and food. Took 25 minutes to get drinks. Weird aftertaste to the specialty drink Luigi's left hook. One drink was incorrect. Food was OK. Steak was cooked correctly. Steak salad was cold. Surf and turf came out about 10 minutes after salad. Snickerdoodle cake was dry as flour. Waitress was a sweetheart. Place was dead. The mixologist, LA, is a genius. Drinks are strong, well made, with quality liquor and mixers and worth the money. I favor the Rocko Old Fashioned or any of the old fashioneds. This is my favorite bar within five towns because of it's atmosphere, staff, and some quality menu items. The fish tacos are my go to. There is a deal when the train goes by for cheap long island ice teas. Wings wednesday is also great. The shape of the place is long, with the bar and tables in the back and dinning tables in the front. I always sit in the back bar and look at the amazing collection of news articles plastered onto the wall of the past 100 years of world history and headlines. There is free parking in the back, and that's where you can walk in also for seating. I'm very proud to have this place in Ellwood City. read more

We tried this place for the first time this weekend. Vert unique floor plan, Best experience we have had out to eat in a while lately! Service was awesome, food and drinks where even better. Tried the boomin shrimp which where a tad expensive but well worth it, nice portion of large shrimp light breaded In the boomin sauce, we really enjoyed them as an appetizer. I had a the home on the range burger and wife had a blackened grilled chicken salad. Both dishes where perfect the burger was very tastey and filling, the salad had a ton of toppings and was very flavorful. read more

A true small town gem. So glad this restaurant and bar is once again a destination on Lawrence Avenue. The menu has everything from appetizers and sandwiches to casual sophisticated dinners you can't find anywhere else in our small town. The wings are delicious, I also recommend the crab cake dinner. I love seafood. So when I saw the seafood bowl on the menu February 11th, I was excited to say the least. I got a quick description and ordered. Let me list the morsels included. Lobster tail, mussels, scallops, calamari, shrimp, I think that's it. Well, it is very difficult to cook any and all of these delicacies on its own let alone in harmony. They were braised in a lovely chunky sauce that hit just the right note. Now to the individual parts. There were what I call "baby squid". They are tough to get perfectly done. They were inedibly tough. The lobster was just perfectly done. The star of the dish was well represented. Even when done alone and broiled, success is not always guaranteed. Scallops so tender they almost melted, as they do when perfectly seared by the best. Shrimp ---- also just right. Mussels----no rubber band issues here! The sauce, not too much, cooked to perfection. I know Breadworks is great but not with this dish! Perhaps some type of hush puppies? Larger and fluffy? All said this was one for the books. As always one of the best places to grab a fork in town!!!! Pricey (30$) but if you're worth it then so is this dish! read more

My mother and I stopped here for lunch recently, it was somewhere that she actually recommended to me. She raved about the salads here, but I was eyeing a fish sandwich on the menu. She of course ordered a salad, and I ordered the fish Sammy. My only complaint about the fish sandwich is that the sandwich was huge! Which isn't a bad thing of course, however, the plate it was served on was very small for how big the portions were. This made it difficult to cut my sandwich in half. I also asked for extra tarter sauce on the side, and I received two half full soufflé cups of tarter sauce, so it sort of felt like I was deprived of the tarter sauce. The sandwich was really good though I must say, the fries were really enjoyable as well! My mom loves the salads here, her salad specifically came with cheese curds on it, which sounds incredible! The waitress was super friendly, and didn't mess up our order at all! The food came out very quick and hot! One caution I do see here is that if you enter through the back entrance, you do have to climb up some stairs to reach the bar and dining area. This sounds fine for a younger crowd, not so much for an older crowd. Watch for those steps if you're having some drinks at the bar! read more

Best chicken salad in all of Beaver and Lawrence counties! Not only is it quite large but the quality of ingredients takes it over the top. They serve fresh mesclun greens with a full blackened chicken breast along with shoestring fries, zucchini, cheese curds, roasted Italian peppers (careful; some may blow your face off), avocado and a fried egg. Not your typical iceberg lettuce, frozen fries, bagged cheese and banana pepper rings. It is truly a work of art. I can't oversell it. My husband always gets the steak version. The wait staff, although sometimes short-staffed, is always friendly. You may have to wait a minute on a Friday night during football season, but it's more than worth it. Stopped here on our way to Living Treasures night at the zoo. It was my first time downtown Ellwood City and its trying to make a come back and this place is going to help a lot! Walked into the place no one was in there dinning room was empty but bar area in the back had a couple people in it. I guess there's a back door as well which most people use because there was no hostess up from a waitress came out and got us. But anyways the atmosphere is cool they had a border of old Pittsburgh area newspapers on the wall and real wood paneling under it. Bathrooms are small but clean and nice looking, they are wallpapered with PA maps. But the food is great I got wings with buffalo sauce good meaty wing with a great buffalo taste and evenly sauced. Wife got crab cakes with bacon brussel sprouts and a hasslebeck potato she said best crab cake she's had. Boys both got "I want McDonald's" which is 2 "sliders" and fries, sliders where normal burgers so they had leftovers. And my little girl got "I'm not hungry"( I think that's what it was called) which is chicken fingers and fries which seemed pretty good portions too. We also got pickle chips with sriracha mayo as a starter also good. My parents got a bbq burger it was huge and Parmesan fries said it was good and chicken Parmesan which looked amazing with wide noodles. I really hope they make because it looks like Ellwood City could use a couple of good eats like this place. We will be back for sure! read more
