    Meat & Eggs Breakfast
    Natasha A.

I came here on a Thursday morning around 11am, it was New Years Day. We waited about 10 minutes for a table and there were three of us (2 adults, 1 child). There was a very long line which felt intimidating but it moved fast and there were a lot of big parties. The service was okay, it was busy. However I did feel rushed to order and then it took a long time to get the check. Although again they were very busy. I got a traditional Breakfast plate, bacon, wheat toast, over easy eggs, and hashbrowns. They also have Tabasco as their hot sauce. My child got a chocolate milkshake, the Mickey Mouse Pancakes (comes with pine apple and cherries), and a side of bacon. He liked it and loved the shake. My partner got the Caprese Omlette without bacon, hashbrowns. He liked it a lot. The adults got hot coffee, which was nearly impossible to get a refill. The vibe is a traditional diner, good food, fun and busy environment. Definitely recommend for a tasty breakfast.

Shoutout to Hollywood grill, most importantly the service - Eve specifically!!! she provided the BEST service I had in a while. For instance, once we were seated, our waiter asked if we wanted water and immediately someone else came with it, it was like clockwork. Eve constantly checked on us and even anticipated our needs like more coffee , water, or napkins and that was super appreciated for real! Thank you thank you thank you! Every customer & colleague better be kind to you Eve or I'll come back and cause hell! But seriously, the ambiance was a standard diner, which we love. Plus it was clean and comfortable. The food was delicious, they cooked the bacon exactly how I ordered it - burnt lol I don't usually order pancakes since I can be particular about them BUT ordered pancakes here and it checked out. Give this place a try and if you're lucky, Eve will be there

Stopped in late last night to grab some dinner. We had went out for cocktails and dancing downtown and by the time we left our venue, everything was closed. I remembered that this spot near us was back to being 24/7. We were able to park in their free parking space nearby. Upon entering, we were warmly greeted. We decided to sit at counter and order our food to go. In the meantime we ate our dessert first. My husband had his eyes set on carrot cake. It was good too. We ate that and settled up our bill while the cook prepared our food. Vast menu offerings here. I remembered back in 2006, they had corn beef hash. It was still on the menu. I was tempted to get it but instead grabbed the patty melt. My patty melt deluxe came with a choice of soup too. I enjoyed my dinner. I ate half that evening and then rest I ate the next day. My patty melt was good and hearty. My husband enjoyed his burger too. All in all, good experience. Next time I am getting pancakes.

It's good to see this diner reopening after so many have closed down locally since covid. It was closed for quite a while, then reopened for limited hours but is once again back to 24/7 service. Nothing fancy, classic diner menu, counter and booth (friendly) service, solid and reliable. The space is clean and fresh, the staff pleasant. Stopped in today for a coffee and breakfast, I got the breakfast sandwich from the "early bird" menu (6am - 9am). Two eggs, cheese and sausage (ham and bacon were also choices) piled up on two generous bread rolls. It came with a heaping side of hash browns (and pickles and coleslaw???). For $10, I thought it was an absolute bargain!!! Recommended.

24/7/365 diner that did the trick. Gets you in and out fast, food solid, and service wonderful.

    Nutella Milk Shake

I've been coming to this restaurant since I was a little girl, currently 19, and when my mom was a teen, this place has always had good food and good service! I went out with my boyfriend there today and the food was good! Of course I haven't been here in a while so they had new things and one of them was a Nutella shake and omg it was so good it actually tasted like Nutella (if you really want like a strong Nutella taste I recommend asking for extra Nutella) I definitely recommend getting it if you're a Nutella lover! The total came out to $71 for 2 people that ordered 2 milkshakes, BLT club, Chicken and waffle, eggs and hash brown, so this place is on the tad bit pricey side!

Great Customer Service! Affordable Prices with Good Quantity Sized Portions. The noodles were a little overcooked but the chicken noodle soup was still flavorful. The ambiance is old diner vibes.

The menu is filled with many of the typical diner favs and what they're known for is they bake their own breads, so I knew I needed to try that. Soon after sitting down, our server brought us a homemade donut hole with a slice of orange. That donut hole was so very tasty! I also got unsweetened iced tea to drink and that was freshly made and also tasted great. For my entrée, I opted for their open face tuna sandwich, which has melted American cheese on top of it and the combo of the tuna, cheese, and their amazing bread was so very good! The tuna is definitely not your ordinary tuna from a restaurant, it's high-quality, thick pieces and hardly has any mayo in it. And this portion was HUGE! I couldn't eat it all. It came with their homemade fries and cole slaw - the cole slaw was excellent and the fries were pretty good, sort of "homestyle breakfast potato" type of flavor, but a big, thick, square, beautiful fry, it just was a little soft, not very crunchy... it was very good though. Overall, we all loved what we got - would definitely return!

They were a bit short-staffed that morning, so service was slower than usual, but we weren't in a hurry and the staff remained friendly throughout. I ordered the daily special French toast, added fruit and pecans, plus a side of bacon. The French toast was absolutely massive and could easily be shared. My only complaint was the $3.75 charge for pecans, which felt a little steep for the amount included. Overall, the food was good, the diner atmosphere was exactly what I was hoping for, and there's something special about dining in such a historic Chicago institution. If you're visiting the city and don't mind a bit of a wait, Lou Mitchell's is worth experiencing at least once.

It was the perfect place for us to link up, talk about what was happening later, and figure out what we were going to get into. Listen, the entire place was a total vibe! The staff wore their retro fits and mingled with the patrons. The bright neon, the teal and turquoise walls, and the hot pink accents were phenomenal. I absolutely loved the color scheme. The black-and-white tile definitely took it back to the diners from back in the heyday. Not my day, but somebody's day, okay?! And they put on a whole show! The staff started singing "Car Wash," and listen, it was a total vibe. They are loud, okay? They might sing right up on you and have you sitting there like, "Okayyyy!!!!" But it was never disrespectful. That is simply the aura and energy they bring, and we were here for it. Every time you go out for breakfast, you don't want just a meal, okay? We were out of town, and we wanted to enjoy ourselves. We wanted an experience, and that is exactly what this place gave us. It's fun. It's retro. It's loud. It's divey. If you want somewhere quiet, this might not be the place for you. But if you want great energy, fun outfits, singing, and a lively atmosphere, go ahead and pull up! We had an absolutely great time.
