    chicago Hot Dog

This place moves fast. I usually get the chicago dog and it has everything that a chicago hot dog needs. It is reallt clean and the service is friendly. Their ice cream is good and creamy (definitely not icy). I will definitely be back again!

Went for Chicago dog. Pretty good dog, buried in fries. Poppy seed bun a little weak. Place is a fast order hole in the wall. Lots of options for a fast lunch. Gyros, dogs, tacos etc. $12 for two dogs and a load of fries. You be the judge, if that's a good deal.

We had a snowfall and parking sucks, I eventually lucked out. I love the old school painted and signage windows. And I ordered a 2 hot dog combo with everything, it didn't come with an "included" fountain drink, but I wanted a bottled soda anyway. Don't know My order was made quickly and bonus points for HOT fries. I love it when my fries freshly out of the fryer melts all my dental work. Those must be eaten immediately!! The dogs were a Vienna Beef 8 to 1 dog. Beefy non casing dogs stuffed in a bun that couldn't contain its beefy goodness. The onions were fresh and had a food bite. The tomatoes wasn't cut into halves but I got fresh slices. The pickles were meh Overall it's a solid dog but nothing earth shattering. But it reminds me of a good tasting hot dog place near my house that I grew up with.

We love Jake's!! The staff is so kind and the food is perfect when you're craving something hot and fried. Their menu has something for every occasion and so far everything I've tried has been yummy! The seating area is comfy and they have a lot of fun tchotchkes to look at while you wait/eat. Best spot for a quick bite!

Summary: Large portions of pretty average food for value prices. They have a impressively broad menu, but, I am skeptical about how tasty the rest of it is after my first experience. Proceed with caution! Good: Good amount of food for your buck. We ordered a soda, and it was like a 32oz cup. Probably like 4 lbs of food for $20. They have some shaded outdoor seating which was cute and enjoyable. Bad: The chicken had potential, but it seemed like it had say under the heat lamp for a bit. If it was freshly fried, it would have tasted much better. Could have used a little more seasoning too. The fries were pale and undercooked. The chicago dogs had a full round slice of tomato which would just fall off because it wouldn't fit. Also no sport pepper by default :( Ugly: Nothing to note!

Great location! Walked in just for small bite to eat and the menu was amazing with a lot of cheap items to choose from. I got a simple cheese burger with everything on it. The burger was under $5 or a whole meal for $8ish. Clean location and very friendly staff! They make sure you are treated right. A lot of good beverages.

Solid hole in the wall burger place. I got the Calvin combo- a double cheeseburger, onion rings, and a drink for roughly $9 including tax. The burger was actually great. I really liked it. I had a tiny hope that the onion rings would be hand breaded, but they are just frozen. Still good! They only have RC brands for the fountain drinks. The double cheeseburger was way too big for me, so I think next time I'd stick to a single. They have quick service, made to order food, and it's close to me. I'll be back!

Chicken sandwich, fries and an upsized drink. Normally $6.99 (w/med drink), and $7.49 with an upsized drink, tax not included.

Buena Park's very own greasy spoon, and there are none greasier than this. The ambience is pretty rough--no AC during the summer, the tables and chairs are from a different era, they hide napkins behind the counter, no free fountain drink refills, and you'll probably smell like frying grease when you leave. The food is better--good crispy fries (though they tasted like they're fried in the same grease as everything else, a decent fish sandwich and yummy chicken tenders for my meal.

For a neighborhood hole-in-the-wall joint, Jakes hits the spot. Located in the Uptown neighborhood of Chicago, Jakes is one of those places you can tell is popular with the locals. This is a local, cheap, no BS, classic Chicago food joint. Everything is under $10. The hours are long so you can get breakfast, lunch, or late dinner here. Prices are great, menu is massive, and staff is super friendly. Don't be afraid to ask questions to see what's popular or get their opinion. The service is amazingly quick. Honestly, for a place that's $, fast, and open at nearly all hours of the day, you can't go wrong. It may be a bit rough around the edges, but it's still an Uptown favorite. Did I mention the giant ceramic hotdog statue towards the back? 5/5.

On my first visit, I had an excellent, relaxed outdoor dining experience. The single smash burger…read morewith bacon and lemon aioli was really, really good. Beer was great and Bethany, my server, was wonderful. I felt welcome as a single diner, which isn't always the case at some restaurants. My second visit was a little less wonderful. I sat inside, had a different server on a busy night and felt unappreciated, to be honest. The pace was frenetic with servers and bussers rushing around throughout the restaurant. My server was OK, but I don't think she cared one way or another about my experience as a patron and it showed. Servers really can make a big difference in dining experiences. I know that it's not an easy job, but something to think about for any servers reading reviews. FYI - the reserved signs on the outdoor tables simply mean that you need to see the hostess. The tables are not actually reserved. They really should use different wording because I almost kept walking, thinking that all the outside tables were taken.

What a cute little brewery! They have a handful of beers, with a good variety (i.e. 75% are *not*…read moreIPAs). Plus, I think it's fantastic that their menu describes the flavor notes! The prices are extremely reasonable, with most 10oz pours costing ~$5-6. The flight of the 'core' (shall we say) six is $20... not bad at all if you ask me. I ordered 10oz of the Liquid Baguette, as the menu described, Earthy, Crisp, and Refreshing. While not my favorite beer on the planet, it was very respectable for a craft brew. DryHop also has a proper food menu, with mostly American classics with some a little more out there options, like the Kangaroo Steak Frites or the Hunter Stew (I don't recall what kind of meat, but not exactly something readily available at Jewel's. The cup was a large enough portion, even made me wonder if I was given a bowl by mistake. The broth was rich and savory, with an ample amount of protein. While a little more meat and smaller pieces of potatoes would have been welcome, this is more personal preference than a critique. Something which was less than fantastic was the service. I felt it was inattentive and a little slow, especially given the brewery was only moderately busy at the time. Maybe I am becoming an impatient, old curmudgeon, or maybe there's some truth to my observation, you be the judge. Final verdict: I think DryHop would classify as a micro-brewery. In that regard, they have a solid selection and good variety. To have something for the beer to wash down there's a solid food menu. While beers and grub are of a high standard, the service leaves something to be desired.

They also have a jar of dog treats and water available for pups! Overall, the food was tasty! Nothing particularly amazing, although my mom did say the toffee coffee pie was her favorite dessert she'd had in a long time (and she just came back from France/Belgium). I thought the apple pie was tasty and unique, with a thinner crust than typical pie.

Every time I visit, the decor never ceases to impress. It's classy but unpretentious and you can tell folks are there to have a good time. We arrived at about 8:30pm on a Saturday and it was packed. Luckily, we were able to snag seats at a bar before a table opened up around 9pm. A note that they don't take reservations (but I kind of wish they did!), so this isn't the place to go if you're in a rush. They had a special seasonal menu going for the holiday, and we started with the reuben hush puppies. While they were more like croquettes, they were extra crispy, cheesy, and juicy with the most delicious thousand island dressing. I wish they would offer this year round! For mains, we ordered the corned beef and buddha bowl. I really liked the horseradish aioli that came with the beef- while the meat could've been more tender, it had a great flavor overall. The cabbage actually tasted pickled and the carrots sweet; non-traditional, but tasty! The buddha bowl had a very wide range of veggies and perfectly cooked rice. I could drink that spicy peanut sauce. I appreciated how large the portions were, which definitely softened the price as we left with plenty of leftovers. All in all, we had a great experience- if you haven't checked Wilde out, I highly recommend doing so!
