I would like to give a 1-Star review but to be fair, I will give a 2-star review because the job was completed. Just as a quick overview, I would not recommend Holtzman Home Improvement. PROS and CONS List below: PROS: *Bathroom remodel was completed. *Liked cabinet finishes and style options. CONS: *We were given a timeline of 6-8 weeks for project completion but ended up taking 6 months. *In contract, the introduction page says that Brandon Holtzman "... will personally meet you and visit your job site several times throughout your project to ensure quality and care is not only in the workmanship but also in our demeanor." Never met the man; not even once. *"Designer" which they refer to as "sales-person", had a hard time keeping up with the demands of our project. Made numerous mistakes in terms of measurements that caused wrong products to be ordered and mistakes in the actual remodel. Assumed certain details about project without consulting us. Example: Cabinet above toilet was bigger than expected (inaccurate measurements) and overlapped on to the exhaust fan, "Sales-Person" assumed that we were just going to move the exhaust fan altogether; this would have cost us hundreds of dollars to move the fan 2-3 inches. *Crew would show up whenever, sometimes not at all even though scheduled. Had crew show up at 6am without notice multiple times. Had to state over and over again for a start time that worked for my family; between 7-8am. Nothing ridiculous. No consistency whatsoever. *Some of the crew did not speak English, which I absolutely didn't mind at all. But Project manager, "sales person", did not speak the language. I never expected to be the sole translator numerous times in person and on the phone. Because of this language barrier, numerous mistakes were made on our project. *Crew would come to job site and not know the status of our project, therefore would ask me questions about what needed to be done, as well as certain technical details that only a professional would know (example: electrical). *Crew would come to job unprepared and would leave to go to Home Depot for 1+ hours to grab material. Not sure if this is standard, but I believe that they should have been prepared for the day's work at our project. *Overpriced. Example: Updated replacement of bathroom exhaust fan that was picked up at home depot for around $45.00-$55.00 and less than an hour to install, cost almost $400.00. *Project manager forgot to discuss details of our project to team so there were details that were left out. Example: Requested to have a shower bench installed; shower was "completed" with no shower bench. *Project manager and "sales-person" should have communicated more in terms of our project details; numerous mistakes could have been avoided. *Low quality of materials: tile/grout. Numerous tiles are cracked, chipped, and grout has already started to come out in chunks. Also, grout that was never wiped off, has solidified and won't come off. *Already have water damage; yes, water damage in a bathroom on a pony wall that neither the project manager and "sales-person" gave input on how to finish to avoid said water damage. *Was double charged, and charged for work not done. Caught mistakes by thoroughly reviewing receipt and was reimbursed. If I didn't catch these details we would have easily been overcharged. *At the completion of the project you are given a 5-year warranty. We have recently contacted Holtzman Home Improvement to come and fix said damage and have not heard back; it has been a few weeks already. *Their slogan is "People should do business with people they trust"; would not recommend. read more

I feel compelled to share my extremely disappointing experience with Holtzman Home Improvement LLC. I engaged their services for a home renovation project, and what was initially quoted as a 6-8 week project has turned into an ongoing nightmare that has lasted for a staggering six months. This company's lack of professionalism, prolonged delays, and extended periods without any progress have left me thoroughly dissatisfied and frustrated. From the beginning, communication with Holtzman Home Improvement LLC has been a major challenge. Attempting to reach them by phone or email has often been a futile exercise, as they rarely respond promptly or, at times, not at all. This lack of communication has resulted in prolonged periods of uncertainty, leaving me clueless about the progress of my project and feeling completely neglected as a customer. What's worse is the excruciatingly slow pace of the actual work. There have been multiple instances where weeks have gone by without any activity or progress on the project. The promised timeline of 6-8 weeks has been completely disregarded, and it feels like an endless wait with no end in sight. This extended delay has caused significant inconvenience and disrupted my daily life. When work does happen, the quality of craftsmanship is far from satisfactory. The attention to detail is lacking, and the overall workmanship is subpar. It is evident that corners are being cut, and the materials used do not meet acceptable standards. The final outcome is a disappointing reflection of the lack of care and professionalism exhibited by Holtzman Home Improvement LLC. Adding to my frustration is the disregard shown for my property. The workers consistently leave a mess behind after each day's work, and the lack of cleanliness is unacceptable. Additionally, there have been instances where my existing fixtures were damaged during the renovation process, and Holtzman Home Improvement LLC has shown no willingness to take responsibility or rectify these issues. Regrettably, when expressing my concerns and dissatisfaction to Holtzman Home Improvement LLC, they have been dismissive and unresponsive. There has been a distinct lack of accountability and a complete absence of any effort to address the problems I have raised. This further confirms their lack of commitment to customer satisfaction and reinforces the poor experience I have had with them. Based on my personal experience, I strongly advise against hiring Holtzman Home Improvement LLC. Their lack of professionalism, prolonged delays, and extended periods of inactivity are serious red flags. We entered a remodel Contract for nearly 115,000 dollars for a bathroom and Kitchen remodel with this deceptive company on 09/15/2020. Yes i said September 15th 2020. The project was deemed done after June 03,2021 Nearly 9 months later. The got our 33,000 dollar cash down payment and the lies and deceptions started throughout the dates mentioned. We had to contact the Governor's office, Attorney Generals Office, Contractors board and (BBB) Better Business Bureau a and finally after Firing Brandon Holtzman and Police intervention and restraining order, for demonstrating hostile and aggressive behavior and threats toward us as home owners. We wanted others to be aware of the lies and false practices by this company. They put on the dog and pony show until they had us over a barrel, meaning we went for nearly nine months without a kitchen or a completed master bath without pluming. The company lost our cabinet order for nearly a month and a half. When asked they lied and continued the deception. We contacted the company in Canada and they provided documentation to dis-prove their lies. We fired Brandon Holtzman and his lead site person Daniel Slate, who came to our home unannounced and was given strict orders by Phoenix Police department that he was tress passing. The company billed us for 8 hours of work they never performed , while only doing 2 hours. We had video proof. After numerous request for a refund and excuses and contacting the above offices. We were offered a refund 2 1/2 months later. We also heard from many of the workers who did the work and they also said the work is good But the people who run the show can't be trusted. we have video proof of those conversation. Bottom line No one should be subjective to their poor business practices. We later found out through research that the Company has had numerous complaints, that almost mirror our concerns. This experience was a NIGHTMARE ! I have been a businessman for nearly 40 years and 15 years a a Real Estate Broker, representing major Construction Companies and Subdivisions and this was the worst experience ever ! Not to mention they cut communications and we had to finish the contract with an attorney who didn't have any Real estate experience. Attorney ( Alicia M. Casale ). This review will take you through our complete project from concept to completion. Our project centered on bumping out our existing kitchen into the garage area which created approximately 170 sq. ft. of new space. Since the old garage/kitchen wall contained all of the utilities for the washer, dryer and utility sink this meant that a trench needed be dug to relocate all of these utilities. All existing cabinets, flooring, counters, appliances and sinks were removed. A large new window was added and an old window over the sink replaced. New counters, cabinets, sink/faucets, and lighting were added. In addition to the kitchen we replaced two vanities along with sinks/faucets and toilets in our two bathrooms. We also removed all the flooring in the whole house (rugs and tile) replacing them with wood designed porcelain tile. Overall a relatively small project but when all the components are added together the result was a pretty large job. Our designer, Johnny did a fantastic job of offering different options for what we wanted. I think he visited the house at least three times before we settled on the design. Holtzman's show room gives you an excellent view of the all the types materials you can choose and their design software allows you to view a realistic representation of the work so you can opt in and out of different things. Once our design was selected the job superintendent visited to review what needed to be done. Holtzman's cabinet person came out to the house and did a complete measurement and discussed the various options for the cabinets (types of drawers etc.). She provided excellent advice. The job began in mid-March and was contracted to be completed mid-June. We moved out of the house during this time. Work began exactly when scheduled and continued pretty much on schedule until completion. During the course of the work our job superintendent was in contact with us a couple of times to deal with small issues that had come up. Of most importance, the quality of the work done by Holtzman staff was exceptional. All work was done quickly, professionally and with no shortcuts. When we visited our home recently there were a few small outstanding jobs that needed completing and they sent staff out immediately and competed all this work in two days. We have done two or three renovations to homes we have owned over the years and we would have to say that this was by far the best company we have ever dealt with. I highly recommend them. read more

I'm a repeat customer with Holtzman Home Improvement. They remodeled my kitchen last year, and now we're just finishing up a master bath remodel. For both projects I'm happy to say that I am very satisfied with their work. Before deciding to work with the Holtzmans, my wife and I did some research, called in an architect, and asked several contractors to offer bids. What finally stood out with Danny and Brandon, and really what made us decide to work with them above any other contractor, was their ability to take a design approach from the start. Understanding design aspects of any remodel (as I've learned from Rick, their lead designer) is crucial. For both our kitchen and bath we found that the right design helped ensure we got what we expected (aesthetically) and that things stayed within the budget we set for ourselves. Another interesting feature of Holtzman Home Improvement is their staff. They have their own employees for most jobs ; plumbing, carpentry, tile, etc. My wife and I liked this very much because it insured a high-level of quality and a group of workers that did not change throughout the project. All the people who work at Holtzman are steadfast professionals and did a great job. Now for anyone who thinks that any well-planned home improvement project is impervious to mistakes, let me say that such is not the case. Some problems will, without a doubt, emerge. And whenever a problem presented itself, Danny and Brandon were always very honest about it, and worked with me to find a good resolution. If the wrong tile was laid down, they simply removed it. In other cases we had to endure some overages in order to resolve the issue. However if I had to pay a bit more to get what I and my wife wanted, we were always satisfied with the solution and found the final outcome better than expected. In some cases, the problem actually forced a solution that was superior to the original plan. Finally the online project management system that Brandon set up is great. Not only does it show the schedule and upcoming work, but it helps document overages which is an important part of any project. I think this kind of system represents icing on the cake because bigger projects are complex and need exactly this sort of tight oversight. So in the end, would I use the Holtzmanns on my next project? The answer is very much yes. read more

I normally do not do reviews or recommendations companies unless I REALLY like them, or I REALLY had a terrible experience with them and I want to tell people to stay away!! This one is because I absolutely trust Holtzman and would recommend them to ANYONE looking to remodel their home!! This will be my 3rd major project that I have used Holtzman for. I started using them back in 2008 when Brandon and his crew built my daughters bedroom for her and did other remodeling projects around our house. The bedroom was of course beautiful complete with a walk in closet, custom built in shelving and chair rail in the room. She was so happy! It was beautiful and it was a great addition to the house! I then used them when we decided to buy a rental property and make some changes to update the house before putting it on the market for renters. Things like updating the flooring, countertops and bathrooms. Once again, they did not disappoint! Everything was beautiful and we had renters in no time at all! This time was no different! We decided to buy another property to rent but we were on a strict time schedule! I flew in from out of town, called Judy and told her my situation and that afternoon I was meeting with Paul! By the next day I had a quote and a plan and everything was good! Yes, there have been delays but that is to be expected. But I will also say, Brandon himself went and did a walk through before things started and found mold and water damage. Had he not done that we would have never known. Some contractors could have just let it go and just covered it up! But of course Brandon let us know and the project had to stop while that was taken care of properly. It just shows Holtzman does care about what they are doing and that they take the time to do it right. I would rather have some delays then have people rushing to get things done and it not be done right. Holtzman has treated us like family since 2008, and they continue to do so through this crazy condo remodel of mine today! So thank you to Brandon and his entire Holtzman team! read more

I recently worked with Holtzman Homes on a master bathroom renovation, and unfortunately, my experience did not meet expectations. While their initial sales pitch emphasized a strong in-house design team and a quick turnaround of 6-8 weeks, the project ultimately took much longer than anticipated. My bathroom renovation took 5 months from demolition to complete and 8 months total from the deposit date. There were several issues with the execution of the project. For example, the shower was installed 3 inches narrower than the design specifications, and instead of correcting this before tiling, they said they would center the cabinets to fill the space and in the end just left the cabinets and added filler on one end. The countertop was not installed by Holtzman Homes' team, but rather by Discount Granite, which led to multiple delays after 3 measurements were needed and another month to reach installation. I experienced over half a dozen no-shows from scheduled appointments, and as a pet owner, I incurred extra costs to ensure my pets were out of the house for these visits. The final cleanup process was also lacking. After the project was "completed," I had to request cleaning and got a separate cleaning of the grout on the walls before I could paint. I ended up cleaning the dust on the light fixtures and doors, as well as the paint off the glass myself to bring the project to a satisfactory conclusion. When I attempted to escalate issues regarding errors or concerns with the project, my inquiries were either ignored or directed back to the superintendent without any resolution. I have not received any follow-up regarding the documentation I submitted detailing these issues. It seems that Holtzman Homes prioritizes completing the work over ensuring it is done to the exact specifications or providing effective customer service. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend them based on my experience, as there were numerous challenges with communication, scheduling, and quality control throughout the project. read more

Rob was our estimator and was truly dynamite. He came on-sight to scope out the project and demonstrated his professionalism & expertise without trying. He looked up the previous permits on our house beforehand so he already had a good idea what he was dealing with. As we walked through what we were thinking, he provided very good feedback based on his vast experience. I liked that if he had a different idea than what we were thinking, he would speak up and explain the pros and cons which we didn't know/think of. He asked really good questions, which helped us remember some of the little details we initially forgot to address with him, i.e. drainage from when it rains. He listened to our vision and desires and then put together the best presentation I have ever seen. He came up with a design that checked all of the boxes on what we were thinking but was objectively better than the design we came up with. He was extremely detailed with the design & the estimate so you go in with eyes wide open but also know that you are being well taken cared of/nothing is getting overlooked. He even showed us the software they use with clients to manage the projects. Basically everything is organized & documented and laid out so we would have clarity on what was happening & when. You really need to go to Holtzman's office for the design & quote meeting to really appreciate the attention & organization they bring to the table. I have to say I'm very pleased to write this review for Holtzman Home. Our remodel consisted of 3 phases. Phase 1 was to completely tear out our old kitchen/master bath and build them from scratch. Direct communication with Brandon, the owner, was established from day 1. We also met with our field supervisor Mike, who is very knowledgeable and patient!! Within a couple days a dumpster was parked on our driveway and demolition began that same day. The old soffit ceiling in our kitchen was uplifted. New lighting and electrical plugs were installed. Tile, countertops and cabinets were also replaced. The original schematics that were designed by my wife and I were totally surpassed by Grace, our designer. She presented 3D renderings, which look exactly as the finished product. Phase 2 was our master bath. We had our old bathtub relocated and also had our cabinets, countertops, tile and fixtures re-done. Phase 1 was actually completed 1 week before schedule, which was very impressive given that it was before thanksgiving and we needed a fully functional kitchen for the holidays. Now phase 3 is finally done and we cannot believe how good our house looks. Phase 3 was painting the whole house inside and out. We did have a couple change orders to our remodel but it was never an issue to the Holtzman team. Thank you Brandon and co for the great work! Holtzman home Improvement remodeled my entire kitchen recently. We are so pleased with the AMAZING job. They gutted out the cabinets, countertops, removed all of the old lighting and lighting fixtures. When they originally started the job they came with samples and blueprints and we did not think what they imagined was going to even be possible. When they came in to remove everything they were so clean that you couldn't even see any mess or dust on the bare floors. Then they sent in a drywall team who patched everything over and fixed the holes where all of our old lighting fixtures and switches were. Then they sent an electrician who rewired everything and installed modern can lighting that evenly lined the dining room and kitchen. Then their plumbing team came in and connected the water lines and set up the reverse osmosis. Then the guys came and installed the cabinets and then the counter tops and sink was installed. This kitchen remodel turned out exactly as they had originally said it would and it actually took less time than we had planned for. Everyone we had the pleasure of speaking to was professional and showed great workmanship. They were so clean and just so pleasant to see everyday in my home. I recommend them to everyone and I'm excited to FINALLY be hosting a family event in our home to show off the wonderful work! read more

If I could give this company a zero, I would. We spent in excess of $70k on a remodel with this company and they were horrible. The original salesman, Rob, was so kind and really sold the job. Once the contract was signed, he disappeared and was no longer to be reached. They told us 3-4 months to complete.... It is in month 6 going on 7. This is still not completed. Rob, who is their best sales guy, severely underquoted the job. For example, one of the custom doors on the bid allowed $300. When the project started we asked for weeks if they had measured the door opening. Why did we ask? Because other doors they ordered, that had taken weeks to come in, were wrong. Measured wrong, wrong style. When they got around to measuring the door, it was nearing the end of the job. Now, we are told 8 weeks to get the door and the price went from $320 to $5800! Nice bait and switch. They cut through post tension cables, they painted the wrong shade of grey on parts of the house so it all had to be repainted. They over ordered backsplash and other materials and refused to take it back... I could go on and on. The super on the job was inept, rude and clueless. The owner, Rob, stepped in and made things worse. He is patronizing and unprofessional Do yourself a favor, steer clear of these fools. They will sell you and then screw you over. read more

I contracted with Holtzman to build a free-standing garage. I signed the contracted 8/15/17 and it just passed inspection today, 5/2/18. It's been the most miserable experience of my life. If it wasn't for a new superintendent, Scott, that they hired half-way through my project we would be in court right now. They are extremely slowwwwww. Many weeks passed in between any work that they would do. My irrigation system was broken and cemented over and I had to have a new timer and valve put in, windows were the wrong windows and installed the wrong direction, the block wall was not put in the contract and Holtzman would not finish that part of the project. The exterior of the building was not what was specified. Lights were installed in the front, exterior and were not supposed to be, and the list goes on and on. The back yard had a trench dug and we had to live with that open trench for approximately 6 months. Their "tracking" system, which they "sell" to their customers as a wonderful communication tool, was only used for payment. No information was available when you wanted it and no written responses were ever made on it. They want their money immediately but that was a one-way street. My personal recommendation is that you do not use this company. Go elsewhere. read more

I cannot recommend Holtzman Remodeling enough! Over the past few years, I have trusted them with multiple remodel projects in my home, and they consistently exceed expectations. From start to finish, this is simply a great company with fantastic people who do amazing work. A huge part of that success is their incredible salesperson, Paul Fried. Working with Paul is an absolute pleasure. As a busy single mom, I deeply appreciated how he made the entire process simple and efficient, always working around my demanding schedule. He is genuinely dedicated to client satisfaction. Paul truly went above and beyond during our recent bathroom remodel. While we were waiting for the custom shower glass to be delivered, Paul knew my kids needed a functional shower right away. He took the initiative to go out of his way, get a shower curtain himself, and even arranged to have it installed while my family and I were out of town. Returning home to a fully operational shower made a huge difference! That kind of thoughtful service and attention to detail is rare. Holtzman Remodeling delivers amazing results, but it's the outstanding people like Paul that make the experience stress-free. I will always use them for any project I have in the future. Project: Remodel a Bathroom Through Home Advisor I got the referral for Holtzman Home Improvement for my bathroom project of replacing my shower and replacing my garden tub with a sitting area. I chose Holtzman over the other 3 contractors that bid the project due to their quick response, professional procedures yet personal interaction of all of the staff. The office is well stocked with materials and software yet I was permitted to use tile materials that I saw elsewhere. A project book is set up for the owner and contactors to know what each contrctor was going to do,including measurements Melanie, the liaison, visited the project to be sure I got exactly what I thought I was getting. Brandon, the owner, was always responsive to a cell call even when I had a follow up issue which he cheerfully resolved. Mine was a small project so scheduling was a bit haphazard. Some surprise workman appearances and a few scheduled steps moved to other days; but it was completed in a reasonable time and the quality of workmanship was consistent. The tile installer Hector was above and beyond. Holtzman pricing was similar to 2 of the other contractors. I would definitely recommend Holtzman for bathroom and kitchen projects. read more

Let me start of by saying, I rarely give company reviews. With that said, I can't say enough good things about Holtzman Home Improvement. Holtzman remodeled my master bathroom and completed the project in September of 2019. The work was impeccable. Unfortunately, as luck would have it I experienced a slab leak in the newly remodeled bathroom less than a year later. Things happen when you live in an older home. I contacted Brandon and he was on it. My project wasn't on their schedule and Brandon made sure he and the team were there to help. Despite having to remove the tub, reroute the plumbing, and cut into the slab, tiles walls, and ceiling, my bathroom looks like the day Holtzman originally finished the project. AMAZING! Honestly, the tile work is perfection. This is a family owned and operated business that cares about the customers and their work product. That's hard to come by these days. Holtzman is not the cheapest company and may not be the fastest. However, you get what you pay for. They have detailed bids and billing, will never try to collect 50% or 75% of project costs up front, and offer premium services and products. I will continue to refer people to Holtzman and sing their praises. read more

THey dont honor the start dates, (usually off by a min. of 30-45 days from the original start dates. with all kinds of excuses. (employees) covers up for all the owners and problem areas. delays,excuses,lack of skills,VERY UNORGANIZED CO. they answer reviews and complaints like the customer is the bad guy. they treated us like _ _ _ t! TERRIBLE CO .... WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THESE GUYS agree with other review ( the twitching observation)YEP OH, by the way, when we talked HHI about there problem contracts, they said we are not used to the customers accually reading the contracts ! OUCH have fun trying to get your money back, they have a 72 hour refund (small print item) that will get you in trouble. have your attorney see the contract before signing. you most likely be advised to NOT use them after giving them several thousands of dollars, we couldnt get HHI to start the job THEY scheduled good luck read more

This review will take through from concept to completion. We just purchased and bran new home and had all the basic materials installed in our home. Holtzman Home Improvement installed 5" random wood planking through out our entire home, Removed all the carpet dust free covered everything. Paint the full interior of our home. Installed lime stone on our fireplace and Installed a custom island. Work began exactly when scheduled and continued on schedule until completion. During the course of our job the superintendent was in contact will us for any issues that came up. He was always available. The most importance, the quality of the work done quickly professional and with no short cuts. We were so impressed how clean their workers were through out the entire process. There designer did a fantastic job offering different options for what we wanted We have done multiple renovations to homes we owned and we would have to say that this was far the best company we have ever dealt with. We needed a full house remodel and chose Holtzman Home Improvement over several other well-known contractors. We couldn't be happier with the results. From the owners (Danny and Brandon) to all of their trade people they were all friendly, professional, and experienced. When problems came up (as they always do on jobs such as ours) they listened to us and made sure we were satisfied with the outcome. We were especially lucky to have Jaryd as our project supervisor. He was extremely responsive, immediately handled any issues and ensured that the project continued to move forward. Lastly, we could not have done ANY of the remodel without our wonderful designer Christina. Her design was simply beautiful and her help and support in choosing all of our cabinets, flooring, paint colors and all of the other necessities was a godsend. Brandon and his crew did an amazing job . They have the most organized organization . It's starts with there sales team coming out to your home. Rob had some many great ideas and very knowledgeable. We felt so comfortable with him and holtzman . There In house design team help us pick out all our materials grace was amazing. grace spent time with us and went through all the options and we were so happy with everything we picked. jaryd our project manager also keep us up to date on what was happening . Holtzman online schedule and portal was great. We always new what's was going on and who was coming to our houses. There in house employee were so detail and always clean up after them selves The finish product we couldn't be happier . This company was the best company we every work with . We are so exciting to start our second phase with them. We would recommend Holtzman Home improvement to anyone. read more
