I have benefited from the expertise of Holtzople on two different occasions. The first was the Summer of 2018 when I awoke to a stuffy warm house. Realizing my AC had gone out I called into work and resigned myself to having to haggle with HVAC businesses. The first two I called are well known in the area. Both were outrageously priced and obviously willing to take advantage of my situation. My third, and thankfully final call, was Holtzople. I had remembered them because of their radio jingle, "Holtzople, Holtzople, Heating and Air Conditioning, Holtzople!" They quoted a reasonable price and a reasonable response time. Brian arrived and within five minutes identified a worn contactor. The price to fix was marginal. I was so impressed with his expertise and calm demeanor that I asked about a maintenance plan. He then patiently spend the next 15 minutes walking me through how the plan worked, how it affected my current service call and possible future service calls. Following that, he completed the repair and then provided followup information. AC worked great for the rest of the cooling system. Jacob was scheduled to perform my Heating maintenance service. He was polite and cordial. He asked if we had any concerns about the operation of the system. How cool was that! He could have come in and just done his maintenance and be out the door. However, his concern allowed me to share how my daughter and I deal with allergies. He asked if it would be okay for him to begin his maintenance and then he had some ideas on how to possibly alleviate some of our allergy stress. We then discussed filter media and air purification options (at least six allowing me to choose one that would fit my income bracket). We discussed the practicality given the age of the system and return on investment. He was patent and there was not a whiff of him trying to sell me anything, rather just providing information to allow me to make my own decision. I'm very late posting this! I live in a 125 year old house. My hot water set up was connected to the oil burning furnace, as was common 50 plus years ago. For some reason, the furnace wouldn't stay running, no matter how many times we fired it up, and it left me with no hot water. Back on December 16th, 2025, I called Holtzople to come and service the furnace. The technician that came out tried his best, but informed me that it was too far gone to be repaired. The burner itself is probably 50 years old. He made a phone call, and told me that he wasn't done trying to figure out a solution, and the he would be back in touch soon. Two days later I received a phone call from Holtzople informing me that a crew would be coming over to install my water heater. I was confused, because I didn't have an existing water heater. I let the crew in, and went back to my recliner, where I spend most of my day, as I'm disabled and don't move around very well. At some point I must have fallen asleep. When I woke up, the crew was gone. I assumed that they left for lunch, so I called the number they had given me and left a message. I received a call right back from the crew leader. I asked if they were coming back, and he informed me that they had finished. He asked me to turn on the hot water while he was on the phone to make sure it was working correctly, and it was! I asked him how much all the work was going to cost and if they would be billing me. And that's when he told me that it was their gift to me! They didn't charge me a cent! This was not a small job! They had to reroute the water from the furnace, install the water heater, and and run the electrical wiring to the circuit breaker! I couldn't contain my emotions, and I burst out in tears with him still on the phone. I could tell from his voice that he was also choked up, when he said we take care of the people in our community. And we both wished each other a merry Christmas! I was really worried about how I was going to pay for everything, as social security is my only income. But Holtzople took care of me! But it was time to replace my 16-year-old system. My first call was to Holtzople Heating & Air Conditioning. Matt Morris, Comfort Consultant came to my home and we discussed options and my expectations. Matt answered all of my questions in a way that were understandable, not highly technical. I asked Matt to prepare quotations for various options. About a week later, Matt returned with several quotations that would meet my needs. We discussed these in much greater detail. I selected the system that I thought was best for me. Matt immediately went into action to formulate his plan to replace my system, that was conveniently scheduled for me. Awesome! Simply put. We contacted several services and these folks had their stuff together! Others were either unprofessional, disorganized, or unwilling to help in any way. In our situation, we had been without heat for nearly 1 month during the latter portion of winter 2018. Even while we were unable to get financing through their financiers due to personal economic circumstances, they were willing to work with us in any way possible. After we finally secured the $$ for the unit, they were here within a few days. It turned out the install day was the day of the "snowmageddon '18" Tyler and Eric did not rush through installation to get finished early during the storm, and even stayed past 5pm to make sure everything was installed correctly and operating to perfection, knowing full well they would be traveling in horrid conditions due to the snowstorm. The comfort specialist, Chris, was professional and friendly throughout the entire process, and came by about a week after installation to provide a well orgainzied binder with all the necessary warranty and pertinent information related to the new unit. They even had all the rebat information prepared and ready to send in to Potomac Edison. Another review noted how they were unresponsive, but given what we experienced, i'm not sure how that is possible without there being some potentially undue expectations from the client. We have two units in our home, and if the second one decides to croak, we'll be contacting Holtzople to get things taken care of. read more

This whole processes seemed like it was going to be a pain from the cost to the installation just because of what it is. No one wants to have to replace a heating and ac unit... With that said, the process was easier than I could have imagined! Everyone was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. We have oil heat and wanted to replace/add a new a/c unit and an electric heat pump. Tyler helped with estimates and gave us our options for what we could do. We did get estimates from other companies and although they were great as well (some were cheaper) we asked Holtzople about the brand they use (Trane is what we went with) and they gave us options and were willing to use a different brand to help with the cost. After comparing everything we did go with what they recommended at first. I am grateful they gave us so much information about different brands and let us make the decision instead of just saying this is what we have. Zach and Eric were our technicians that installed the new unit and they did a great job, they were super nice and other than the nose of the installation (unavoidable) I barely knew they were here. We had a few snags and instead of doing it their own way, they asked questions, and we came to an agreement on how to move forward. (Still, what they would have done, but I appreciate that they asked and talked about it) I 100% recommend using this company and would in the future, here's to hoping we don't have too anytime soon though! read more

I have been involved with the plumbing and HVACR industry for over 38 years and am a licensed Master Plumber in Harrisburg, PA. Although, I am not licensed to work on AC systems. After moving to Gettysburg from Hershey, PA I needed to find a reputable contractor to service my AC system. Holtzople Service Technician Brian Wise came today 12/21/2018 Friday, exactly on time, to follow up on, the June 2018 installation, of a new HVAC system, which replaced our aged, and falling apart unit from another installation company who will go unnamed. He was polite, always covered his shoes coming into the house, conscientious, honest, explained exactly what he was doing, and was extremely detailed in his review of our system. Brian treated my wife equally well. He replaced the air filter, checked for any gas leaks, temperature/air flow of supply and return, reviewed the thermostat settings, and the HVAC motor speed settings, recorded settings, and many other reviews of the system. Brian installed our unit initially with another service representative (Name I can't remember but was great also). I asked why he worked for Holtzople. He explained they are a great company because of excellent products and product support, are honest, have integrity, and most importantly truly care about their employees and customers. Holtzople is a fantastic Heating and Air Conditioning Company. They know what they are doing. I needed to get a new heating and AC unit installed in my home. I did my own research on Bryant and Trane. I got two separate estimates. There was no comparison between the two companies. Holtzople took the time to do the whole house load calculation to ensure that the correct heating and ac unit would be installed. I was very impressed with Chris Norbury and how precise he was when doing the load calculation. Chris also suggested with being an older home, that we should have the Aeroseal done in the vents. When the installers arrived, they cleaned our duct work, did the calculation on what the heat loss was, and to my surprise, it was at 305. Cold not believe I was heating and cooling the outside of my home. Once the new unit was put in, the calculation went from 305 to 16. The installers were great and knew their job very well. I think they are overpriced for the work that is done. I asked to have the heating system checked out, and also my gas fireplace would not light. The only thing wrong with the heating system was the thermostat was broke on the humidifier. As for the fireplace, I was told I needed a milli watts switch, because the switch was bad. After he left, I realized the reason the fireplace did not work was because there is a switch on the bottom that can render the wall switch inactive in case children are playing with it. The fireplace is now working without the new switch. Holtzople was to get back to me on a price for the humidifier control, but that was about two weeks ago. However, I have decided not to use them. They charged me $95 for each service which came to $195 (they did tell me this upfront), but the serviceman told me because he did not have the piece to fix the thermostat it would be another $50 to return. After discussing this with lots of my friends, they could not believe that I was charged as if I had two separate service calls when one guy came to service both jobs. I felt as though there was nothing wrong with the wall switch for the fireplace. I will be looking for someone else. read more

My house is equipped with a boiler and three air handlers. Unfortunately, in January, the heat stopped working on the second floor so I called Holtzople. Brian arrived the same day - which was greatly appreciated. He initially thought the pipes had frozen but after more investigation he determined there was inadequate water pressure from the boiler to push the hot water from the basement to second floor air handler which was in the attic. (That is why the air handlers for the first floor, located in the basement, were working - there was sufficient water pressure to circulate the hot water through the basement lines.) Brian replaced the water pressure valve (which was original to the house so was 19 years old). With the new valve, there was plenty of pressure, so after also replacing the air valve in the attic (which was leaking) he flushed the lines, installed a new WiFi thermostat, and tested the system. All was working perfectly. And now, one week later, the heat is working better than before. The low water pressure must have been reducing the effectiveness of the two first floor air handlers as well. Great job by Brian debugging and fixing the problem. read more

The Holtzople team has been fantastic for our home. Brian came out and diagnosed a serious propane issue with our furnace and then gave us options. Tyler came out on a separate date and explained everything in detail, answered all of our questions, and was personable through the experience. He walked us through what our best options were for our house and for air quality (5 large dogs cause a lot of dander in the HVAC). He also helped us set up financing. On a separate date they came out and installed a brand new system. For installing a full furnace, AC, Heat Pump, Duct Work, and UV lighting it was all done within hours. They were cleaned up and removed all debris by the afternoon. A short time later we received a letter from the team thanking us for our business and gave us a $100 gift card which was completely unexpected but very appreciated. Brian came out today to maintenance our investment and was very courteous to our dogs and worked with us to move them around his maintenance needs. I had a great experience today with my 6 month heating and AC service appointment with Danny W and Brad. These guys are about as patient and courteous as they come plus always knowledgeable and creative with helping me patch together a 13 year old system and look toward financing a replacement. I had a medical emergency and was late to meet them at the house and they actually cared and waited a few extra minutes, I am so grateful, who does that anymore and then is still nice to you when you pull up. Then they took the time to show me the compressor resistance reading on my downstairs unit (like actually brought me outside and showed me the instrument itself on the wire) and talked me through what it meant about the remaining life of the unit. No hard sell, just all my options from swapping out a part to partial replacement to full system overhaul. I never have to worry about my white rugs, Danny and Brad wear foot coverings each and every time they come in. They are even nice to my pets. Wow, I'm impressed. My upstairs A/C stopped cooling, so I stopped in to Holtzople to see how soon they could take a look at it. I wanted them to come out the next morning, but I figured in the heat of August, it would be a few days. Well, they actually offered to come out that afternoon! I was not available, so I scheduled for the next morning. The service tech arrived right at the beginning of the quoted time window, and made me feel comfortable from the moment he got out of the truck. So comfortable, in fact, that I showed him inside, told him what was wrong, and took my daughter to school, returning about 15 minutes later. When I returned, he had already diagnosed the problem. He explained everything to me thoroughly, answering all of my questions, and completed the repairs within the hour. He was on time, clean, polite, knowledgeable, friendly...what more can I say? While Holtzople was doing service to my HVAC the technician noticed microbial growth in the supply line of my duct work. We had fiberboard duct work in the attic and it was condensating which is pretty normal for fiberboard. They replaced all of the duct work with metal lines and replaced the indoor and outdoor units with Holtzople brand equipment. The installation crew was very professional, communicating about the process, wearing booties when they were inside, promt and hard working. They got the entire new system and duct work installed in a 2 day period which was pretty impressive considering the amount of work they had. We also changed to an electric heat pump from propane which will save me a ton of money. The warranty on the system is unreal. 10 years parts and labor which is unheard of for a mid grade unit. I was told the next unit up has a lifetime warranty. Just had a new gas furnace and a/c system installed after 27 year system was on last legs. Got multiple estimates over 2 years and settled on Holtzople due to reputation and responsiveness. Installation was smooth and exactly as we were told. The crew Tyler,Shane and Jacob K. Were great. We're an animal house so lots of special requests of the installers and access in the home and outside. All very respectful and our dogs liked the crew so that says something as well. Helpful and patient sales rep Melissa who tolerated lots of back and forth on system types and options. follow up visit and coordination of manuals and rebates etc. also a nice touch not done by others. Did not care for company that replaced upstairs unit 10 years ago but wanted to keep same brand Trane so did due diligence on multiple bids etc. We' re a month into the new unit and it works great in the shoulder of air conditioning and now heating season. I was not sure they would sell me a service contract on a product they did not install. Today was my first service cleaning on my Trane Gas Furnace and my new contract already covered the cost of a part that was about $179. AMAZING! Holtzople installed a new complete TRANE 14i heating and airconditioniing system in November 2004. They have routinely inspected the system every six months in accordance with the maintenance agreement we purchase each year. As an addition to the system, they installed a Honeywell TrueSTEAM humidifier (up to 12 gallons per day) in February 2010. Our piano tuner from Keymar told us that we need to maintain ~42% humidity in the house during the winter to maintain piano tuning, maintain the wood in good order, and maintain wood furniture. We had some problems, which Holtzople has quickly and efficiently corrected on the system. We maintain the prescribed humidiity in our home. It drops a little under 40% momentarily when the temperature dips to the low teens or single digets, but overall maintains the humidity that we desire.
