These cannolis are always so fresh and delish, no matter what flavor you get. The traditional style alone is enough to keep me coming back, plus they have such creative special filling options. Ok, so we stopped in today, after a great dinner at Chili's (Thanks Molly). We wanted to visit months ago, but didn't have the time. I'm glad we did today. Holy Cannoli's is a cute little shop, in a great spot. We were greeted upon entering and told the flavors of the day. We made our selections and watched the server fill our Cannoli's. They fill them fresh while you wait! We mentioned something about pistachios and although it wasn't one of the flavors of the day, and we had no clue it was even an option, she offered us the flavor anyway! They are delicious! The front of the store is donned with those fun knick-knacks and novelty candies from your childhood. Walk a little further into the store, and you'll meet the sweetest lady in the bakery business. The woman at the counter was super attentive, and told us the stories of old. There were stories of her 95 year old aunt, who still comes in to make cannoli. This shop is run by a family whose cannoli making heritage goes back 6 generations in Detroit. My wife and I ordered 6 cannoli of the varying flavors of the day. I'll start with the shells. These shells are very light and airy, as they should be. The traditional filling is great, and reminds me of my childhood. You can request to have ground nuts on the ends, but we chose not to for this experience. The flavored fillings were a new experience for me... All flavors are light and subtle, as to not overpower. My favorites were the peanut butter chocolate and cookies and creme. You can also have Cassata cakes and cupcakes here, as well as fresh cookies. The dish that I'll be ordering next time Is the Cannoli Chips and dip... Sounds awesome!! They do cater, and I would assume they do it well... The store catered a number of weddings that day, and even supply empty shells you can fill yourself with filling they provide. But the flavorings were so subtle that I had a hard time distinguishing between them, and when flavored cannolis is your main attraction, that's a problem. The prices also seemed rather high. As a former pastry chef i understaand the time it takes to make a quality product. I also understand why they fill them to order as opposed to astoria who lets them sit in the display case. Yes it takes time but the crunch of the homebaked shell in combination with the creamy cheesy sicilian filling and is that a hint of nutmeg in ur artic snow/powdered sugar garnish?! I'll start by saying I'm not a big fan of desserts, but don't write me off yet. My girlfriend's sister wanted to come here to try a... cannoli. Imagine that. There were four of us, and two of us got the traditional cannoli, while the others got the chocolate one. The building's tight (but kept up and looks nice) and the girl working there was nice and "on top" of things... or so we thought. We took a bite of our 110ish calorie cannolis after leaving and none of us were impressed. My opinion probably doesn't count for much (or anything) but it was one of the blandest desserts I've had. The overall consensus actually wound up being that we figure the traditional cannolis that we were given weren't traditional. They tasted like banana, and didn't have the texture I expected from a cannoli... this was almost like a banana cream pie canoli or something like that, and it just wasn't very good. My last bite is the only reason I'm giving two stars -- there were a couple random chocolate chips in it, and it made the otherwise one-note cannoli taste decent. I figure we just caught Holy Cannoli's on a bad day, or just flat out got served the wrong cannolis. Whatever we were given, none of us thought much of this place. read more

I love cannoli, so I was super excited to give this place a try. My husband and I picked up a couple of cannoli and a piece of baklava. The cannoli were mediocre at best. They were very small for the price and left a weird aftertaste. The baklava was rock hard- it literally bent the metal fork he was trying to use to eat it with. My husband had such a hard time with the baklava that he ended up just trying a nibble and throwing away the rest. Not sure if they were having an "off" night or what, but we were definitely unimpressed. While there (before eating the cannoli), I also noticed a sign advertising cassata cake. I inquired about the cake and the woman working behind the counter said that the only options for cake flavor for cassata cake were white cake or chocolate cake- neither of these are traditional and they didn't offer any traditional sponge cake. What a disappointment and at that time thought it was odd for this type of place to be closed, ended up at the coffee shop at the corner. -again waking with a friend through Rochester and decided to stop, as we came in I was shocked at all the"clutter" we were greeted with, not focusing on what they do best,which is cannolis and baklava, don't need to confuse folks with nickel candy and junk that detracts from the product, we waited quite a bit to be serviced and the lady who came to take care of us looked like she came out of the flour/powdered sugar bin. Apron was filthy and she was unpleasant,almost annoyed with our questions about their fillings and wanting to taste before buying. We chalked it up to just having a bad day in her part made was unable to buy a cup of coffee from them so again ended up at the shop on the corner to have a coffee with our cannolis. -just before the Thanksgiving holiday we were walking through Rochester and were greeted with the same type of disdain from staff,reluctance to provide tasting samples staff didn't even know what flavors were available for the day. Took a long time to get the shells and filling as we both ordered the kit they offer. The woman I referred to previously with the messy appearance was there looking sloppy and the shop was cluttered with stuff that have nothing to do with service or sales....looks like they keep their office out front where they serve customers, again no coffee available so stopped at the corner. -on may 27,2014 I was with a friend who has walked on all the above visits to this shop and we decided to stop, we want to support this business they have a great product. However, the young lady at the counter was unsure of the days flavors, didn't offer tasting samples we had to ask,and the kicker was the woman I referred to was there and she was looking angry and stressed and we asked her a question and she said to us "I'm supposed to be at an event right now,I'm late". So UNWELCOMING, and frankly RUDE made to feel as though we were an INCONVENIENCE. We purchased 6 cannolis and stopped again at the coffee shop at the corner because "we don't know where the coffee pot is" The shop is still cluttered with crap that should be in an office or back room. They continue to sell stuff that has NOTHING to do with their signature products. I'm so sad to write this, I want to like this shop but honestly I refuse to be treated badly by any business and I've tried on several different occasions to give them a second and third chance to get it right. They haven't and the blatant rudeness and lack of service and concern for customers makes me close the door to holy cannoli. I am SO disappointed in this small business establishment. My fiancé and I went to Holy Cannoli in March to do a tasting. We loved the fresh flavors and fun concept of having Nicole (owner) come to our wedding reception and fill cannolis during dessert hour. We have a $100 deposit and were instructed to get in touch 30 days before the wedding to confirm all the details. Our wedding date is 9/15/18. I sent an email to Holy Cannoli in early August - no reply for three days. I called and left a voicemail, no reply. I called the next day and left a message with an employee (not Nicole). No one ever called me back. At this point the only information Holy Cannoli had about our wedding was the date and location. They hadn't the slightest clue about our guest count, timing, or flavor choices. I called a THIRD time and spoke to Christina. Christina was very unkind and condescending. She took notes on the details of our big day but had sarcastic remarks along the way and admitted at the end of the conversation that she couldn't offer any confirmation on our plans for the wedding because she "doesn't do weddings." I asked Christina to have Nicole call me so I could have confirmation that we were actually going to have their services on our wedding day. Fast forward an entire week and I still hadn't heard from Nicole. I decided to pay a visit to Holy Cannoli to regretfully cancel our order. I had lost faith and trust in the establishment to be able to produce for us on our big day. I was told by the woman at the register that, yet again, Nicole was not available. I left a message with the employee to cancel our order and refund our deposit. She assured me Nicole would get back to me. This occurred FOUR days ago and I still haven't heard from Nicole or anyone else Holy Cannoli. They still have our deposit. We haven't received so much as an apology or explanation for the poor communication. Brides, moms, or anyone looking to use Holy Cannoli for your dessert needs - PLAN AT YOUR OWN RISK. The last thing I needed as a busy bride to be was a mess like this. Luckily, our amazing venue and caterer was able to add dessert onto our menu at the last minute. However, I was SO looking forward to our cannoli dessert station. I am shocked that a family business would exhibit such POOR customer service. We will certainly find a friendlier, more reliable bakery for our dessert needs in the future!! read more

Along with the friendly owners making a fresh pot of coffee, and then filling us in on the tradition of how they do the lights for all the buildings,every year, made for such a pleasant evening. I'm no cannoli connoiseur, but they tasted very good. The flavors of the day were a peppermint bark, ginger bread, and regular - they let you try which filling you want before your purchase. Feb 12 I had a Holy Cannoli for the first time today and holy moly!!! It was AWESOME!!! Yesterday I heard that some bakeries were making paczki with cannoli filling, so we googled it and my husband was sent on a mission this morning to Holy Cannoli. We just moved here from the Seattle area so cannolis and paczkis are new to me. I have been on a cannoli test testing mission since we moved here in Nov and I LOVE them, so when I heard about this place I had to try one. I must say, by far you have the best cannoli I have ever tasted and I have had MANY local cannoli's. I am saving my paczki for after dinner, but can hardly wait!! THANK YOU!!! We have tried to enjoy their "fresh cannolis", but they cannot provide us with a gluten/allergen menu. Also, they cannot clearly explain the process of filling/adding nuts and what ingredients are used. There is no menu posted to make their lack of communication even more confusing.
