I debated taking off a second star for the slow service... but I didn't because I liked the waffle and food trucks attract lots of customers. I went to Josh's Farmers market on a day I knew this truck would be there. IG pics looked great and I knew it was something my niece would enjoy. We arrived around 1pm on a Sunday afternoon and I just about stopped dead in my tracks when I saw the 30 or so people in line. However, we drove from Huntersville, and although it wasn't super far it was enough of a hassle that I didn't want to turn around and leave. So we waited. For. An. Hour. Plus. 15. Minutes. I was pretty annoyed because I had gone there somewhat hungry - silly me, not knowing how small the novelty waffles are. By the time we'd waited over an hour I also had an unhappy child who was hungry too. Finally just after 2:15 it was our turn to order. My niece wanted the original, she didn't want all the extra stuff. I wanted the Nutella/strawberry waffle and I kid you not.. they gave the last one to the woman who ordered before me. Unbelievable. I was too through.. and also by the time we got our order at about 2:30, we were starving and that little waffle did not do the job. They were tasty.. just know this is a treat, a dessert, not filling at all. I didn't expect it to be filling, I just expected them to be bigger. I do feel they are reasonably priced based on the size... but we stopped for pizza on the way home. There was one person taking orders and the other was making the orders. The woman making the orders could have used a hand. I can't understand why it took her so long to put 2-4 toppings on a waffle, but the order prep took forever. Keep this in mind if you visit .. be prepared to wait and eat a meal in advance. I'd try it again because the waffle was good, but I wouldn't wait an hour, it wasn't worth a wait that long IMO. read more

The waffles are dessert size so don't expect a breakfast size item. Reasonably priced at $5 with interesting toppings however be prepared to wait a long time. Only one person working the food cart taking orders 3 at a time and preparing them one at a time. Although the desert sized waffles were good not worth the time waiting for them ( one hour). Right now they have all their ordering and payment online because of Covid-19. We got there a few minutes early so our waffle wasn't quite ready. They texted us a couple of minutes later when it was ready. We got a Take 5 (with white chocolate instead of milk chocolate) and a Fruity Pebbles. They were amazing. Holy city waffles stopped by in our neighborhood during quarantine. They had a great online ordering system where you could order ahead and pick up at a certain time. My husband and I ordered the take5 and s'mores waffle along with the edible cookie dough and pretzels. I preferred the s'more's over the take5, but both were so delicious. They relocated to the QC from Charleston, SC and being a lover of homemade waffles, I couldn't be happier about their move. This food truck is one of the reasons I went to the 2nd battery food festival this year. I have been so excited to try it. The line was not long when I walked up to the truck. The menu was small but packed with delicious options. I was overwhelmed by all the goodness I was seeing.
