The Winter Warmer (top) and The Joliet Jake - Chicago style (bottom)

Fast service, the dogs are delicious. Second time at JJ's Red Hots and each visit I try something new. This time it was the Chicago style Joliet Jake. Relish, tomato, pickle, and hot peppers on a grilled frank. One of our favorite parts about the hot dogs is that they a grilled. If you're on your way to Freedom Park stop by JJ's!

Today is the very last day to enjoy a hot dog combo at JJ's. They close Sunday for good. The line has been packed out the building every day this week. We're sorry to see them go. We enjoyed them and wish them ALL the best. One thing is certain about life. Nothing stays the same. Farewell and it was fun while it lasted!!

Been here a lot, usually a really good experience but I'm taking off a star because every time I've ordered their fries they never come hot. Always lukewarm or outright cold, hard and just not pleasant. The Tater Tots are my go-to. Tried the Kasekreiner sausage, very good if a bit messy. Excellent crunch and flavor, worth the price.

The build your own. So good or so hungry there wasn't time to get a before picture...

We dropped in after spending the afternoon at Freedom Park (1/2 mile away) with the grandchildren. It is as they plainly state a hot dog stand, with indoor and outdoor seating. You order at the counter and they deliver the order to your table. The menu had something for everyone. We had the Joliet Jake, a kids hotdog, a build your own, KASEKREINER. The counter staff are very friendly and helpful. They efficiently take the orders and verify the choices. Everyone seemed to enjoy their choice, even the picky two year old who ate the whole dog, most of the bun and many of the tater tots and snatched a few fries in the meantime. The hotdog buns were soft, fresh and warm. The eleven year old commented on how soft the bun was. The sausage was perfectly browned with great snap to the casing and tasted wonderful. Possibly the best sausage and kraut I've had since leaving Chicago. We also have different sides and shared. Tater tots, crinkle fries and house made wavy chips. It's probably the cleanest hotdog stand ever. The staff was stocking supplies and tidying during our entire visit.

After leaving a festival at Freedom Park today, I decided to stop by JJ's Red Hots, and I'm so glad I did! This place is absolutely fantastic. The atmosphere is fun and laid-back, making it a great spot to grab a bite after a day out. The hot dogs were delicious--loaded with toppings and full of flavor. I love that they have a variety of creative options on the menu, catering to both traditional hot dog lovers and those who want to try something a little different.

Vegan hotdogs were super good. My friend couldn't stop raving. Best spot in the area. Staff was very nice and friendly. Has a couple of booths all we're taking. Place gets busy.

Who doesn't love a good ol fashion hot dog? What j love abt this place is they have the standard menu, but each wk a new dog of the wk is featured. I love going to find out what new creation has been made. I also tried their new hot honey smoked wings, the wings were jumbo and very meaty and delish. I love their onions rings, sliced thin and fried to perfection.

LOVE A GOOD DOG! Easily accessible from East Blvd. If you are in the mood for some delicious hotdogs, this is the place to go. They have everything from original hotdogs to coney island style, polish, or Italian sausage. I did notice they added sandwiches, tenders, and wings to their menu. This time, I decided to try their tenders with fries. While they were tasty, I would most likely not order them again. They were sooooo crispy and fried, thr skin portion would just fall off the chicken and if it didn't, it was hard to bite into, very greasy, and just not what I would imagine or want from a tender. I guess that's what I get for being adventurous and not getting a dog, haha! Other than that, service was efficient. Everyone was super friendly, and there was plenty of seating to choose from. They do have parking on site, a little narrow and small, so please be careful when pulling in. Other than that, it is a great location and will be back when craving hotdogs.

Elevated hot dogs, yes please! I've never been to a place quite like this. They have a menu of a variety of different hot dogs and brats to choose from. I ordered the two dog combo and got the Chicago dog and the No. 1 Red Hot- both were delicious! They don't skimp on the toppings either. As a side I got the onion rings which were thin and crispy, and the server offered me the house made remoulade sauce to dip and it was so tasty. Service was quick and friendly. They have indoor seating as well as an outdoor rooftop, but we took ours to-go for the perfect picnic in the park!

So so good. We love going here. The staff is always so friendly and kind. The food is tasty and fresh. Everything is quick and delicious. Their pimento cheese is amazing, always add it to your or sandwich. The build your own is the best. They have fun drink options too!!

When I tell you we enjoyed the food, before leaving we order hot dogs to go and ate it at the airport. Never had hotdogs like this before and now every time I am in Nc I will make sure to stop at Jj's to enjoy. Very good!!

If you want a really really good hotdog, this is the place It is a very clean restaurant with lots of different types of pickles to choose from. They probably have 20 different kinds of hotdogs you can have them done to your own liking I like mine extra chard I love the Chicago dog and then I'll create my own dog with various toppings, they've got beers on tap beers in the bottle soda. In my own humble opinion the best hotdog in Charlotte if not in North Carolina. And the service is excellent they take your order quickly, and they deliver the hotdog of your liking even faster

Carolina Dog - chili, slaw, onion, mustard. Best I have ever had.

Carolina Dog - chili, slaw, onion, mustard. Best I have ever had and I have had many. Also got a kraut dog with mustard. Absolutely fantastic. Fries were only average unfortunately but I did not come for the fries. :-) Highly recommend you give this place a try.

And their recipe for success is pretty simple: fresh, honestly made food served hot, and with a smile. There's no indoor seating (and not much outdoors, for that matter), limited parking, and no booze, but the chili cheeseburger, served in a wax paper wrap and dripping with greasy flavor, is a quintessential Queen City experience. Service was fast and friendly, and you can enjoy your meal at a covered picnic table or (as we did) in your car. I wouldn't say Brooks makes the city's 'best burger' (much less 'the World's,' as the sign claims), but its homemade goodness will remind you of simpler days, when it was a lot easier to find reliably tasty comfort food at a reasonable price. Definitely worth a visit from anywhere in Charlotte.

The servers were also very nice and friendly. However, a few things held the experience back: Atmosphere & Layout: First, don't let the name fool you--it's not actually a drive-in. Walking into the lobby, I was hit with a stale, dank, musty smell, which seemed to be coming from the restrooms located right at the front entrance. The waiting bench was cluttered with high piles of boxes, which didn't make the best first impression, and the hand towel dispenser in the ladies' room was out of order. The Food: I paid $11 for five skinny, dry wings paired with a watery blue cheese dressing. For "jumbo" wings, they were pretty mid. The menu overall feels like it could use an upgrade (Bad Daddy's Burgers right across the street sets a much better benchmark for this type of casual spot burger). The staff and the playlist were fun, but between the lacking atmosphere and disappointing food, it falls right in the middle for me.

They both were tasty. The hot dog was big and juicy and well dressed. They air fry all their traditionally fried. That's probably my only complaint. I prefer fried food to be fried in oil, but that's my preference. We also tried the brisket and pulled chicken (sorry I forgot to take a picture). They were also good. Everything was served hot and fresh. I'm a condiment girl and they have five bbq sauces: Original, Mississippi, Kansas, Memphis, and Sweet and Tangy. We actually liked all of them between the two of us. Here are a few more highlights and reasons for you to stop in and check them out. 1. Plenty of parking including a ramp for accessibility. 2. They have Ax Throwing. It's not traditional axe throwing, they use a screen. They also have other fun games including Tic-Tac-Toe and a Candy Crush like game. It's also affordable. It was $10 per person/hr. We stopped in on a Monday afternoon before 5:00pm. 3. They have a few fun things on their menu including corn nuggets, fried pickles, pineapple upside down cake, and a sampler where you can try a little bit of everything. 4. The staff (Ron and Shawn) was very friendly and thoroughly explained the menu. They also chatted with us since they were not too busy and made sure we had all we needed to enjoy our meal. 5.
