I visited Charlotte last weekend and found this gem while walking up to get brunch at a nearby restaurant. I almost always have a sweet tooth so i decided to stop by here after brunch. I wanted to try a regular glazed doughnut, but as this shop is popular, they tend to sell out. I was able to get a cinnamon sugar doughnut and i am so glad i did. The doughnut was so thick and fluffy, but wasn't too much and i didn't feel stuffed after. I don't typically like cream cheese but this was a good touch to the cinnamon sugar. Delicious donuts conveniently located in the middle of Park Rd Shopping Center! I didn't realize that this shop is literally in the parking lot - in a kiosk which looks to have once been used by the hardware store for copying keys. It's a cute spot with some outdoor seating and a window where you order. I was expecting to be able to take a look at the donuts and make my decision that way, but here you just have to visualize what they may look like after reading what they have available on the chalkboard (or reference Yelp pics, of course!). Every month, they have different Special donuts (which you can find on their social media pages), and they always carry their Classic flavors (unless they've run out for the day). We ordered 4 donuts: toasted coconut (special), Bavarian cream (special), dark chocolate with sprinkles (classic), and cinnamon sugar with cream cheese frosting (classic). I love the square shape of the donuts and how soft they are. They were all tasty in their own way. I really liked the custard filling in the Bavarian cream, and the cream cheese frosting on the cinnamon sugar added something special - this one was probably our fave of the bunch. The staff member helping us was patient and friendly. We didn't stick around to enjoy our donuts on site since it was a chilly day, but it would be nice to hang out in front of the shop in warmer weather. Alas I didn't snap photos of the massive pastries when I bought them - they are long since gone - but they certainly deserve mention. I stick to cake donuts for the most part but Your Mom's Donuts make a very strong case for yeast. Their offerings have the most delectable base! I didn't think I could eat a yeast donut plain until I tried theirs. Your Mom's Donuts are part of the growing collection in Charlotte of over-the-top breakfast pastries, with glaze and chocolate crème and fruit and nuts and sometimes all of the above on a single donut. That's absolutely too much for me, and the cost reflects the piling-on of toppings and mirrors most of the other high-end donut shops that have opened. The tl;dr version: very good donuts but stick to the simple glazed or single-topping when you can, unless having a dessert for breakfast is your joy. No judgment here. I finally made it to the kiosk and they had donuts!!!! We actually planned a group cycle ride around the donuts so we parked at Park Rd Shopping Center, rode 14 miles and then rewarded ourselves with donuts afterward. When we were riding back up to the parking lot, there was already a line at the kiosk, which is a good sign. I started to panic because, I just do but there were plenty of donuts cause it was 8am. They were actually still unloading the truck that supplies the donuts. It was a little hectic since the staff was still getting everything organized and starting to sell at the same time. They were super friendly. I tried the Mimosa donut (special flavor) but their classics list looked so good as well. So hard to choose. All donuts have the same base and the flavors are either toppings or added on as extras... sooooooo good! Our cycle group might make this a new tradition, but it is pretty counterproductive. This was my first time at Mom's donuts. I've seen it for several years on my visits to Charlotte and and finally decided to try it after i saw on their menu the lemon honey donut. For me, it was a little underwhelming, but again still DELICIOUS. If I I can make a few suggestions to make this donut the talk of the town, I would offer the following. Make the dough a little lighter so it more of an airy texture. Cut back on the sugar in the glaze and punch up the lemon. The great thing about a lemon doughnut is the sweet an borderline sourness of the lemon that works to make your taste buds open. The honey should also have more lemon added. I have been following their page on Instagram for a while now and finally made some time to check them out. They always post tasty looking donuts and I tried them out on my cheat day. I arrived about 1:40 pm on a Saturday 20 minutes before closing. I wish I could of made it sooner. They only had the honey lemon left and it was surprisingly delicious. I was going for a vanilla bean I saw on their regular menu. But the honey lemon was really good and the donut itself had a wonderful texture when I bit into it. Finally found my favorite local donut shop. Made a visit to Your Mom's Donuts a recent afternoon and it was an all-around great experience from the customer service down to the donuts. I ordered a honey lemon, chicken & waffles, and a salted caramel donut - and a cup of coffee to wash it all down. The donuts smelled delicious and were so pretty, I had to fastened the box with a seatbelt to make sure they made it home safely. Bite by bite was flavorful from savory to sweet. My favorite pairing of flavors was surprisingly the honey lemon. It was well-balanced and wonderful. I've been wanting to try Your Mom's Donuts for so long so I was really excited when this location opened way closer to me. We were at Park Rd shopping center for lunch so I decided to check and see if they still had donuts left. They didn't have many left, but there were a few! The one that sounded the most interesting to me of what was left was Fluffer Nutter - marshmallow filling with peanut butter frosting. It was one of my favorite donut flavors in Charlotte. I'm partial to fresh warm donuts, but outside of that, I think it was the best donut in Charlotte. The peanut butter icing was amazing and the filling added to the flavor perfectly. They are quite pricey. My one donut was $4. In willing to pay more for a great donut though. If you're a fan of donuts, this place is a must try. I rarely head to a new area without looking for local donuts. We asked around for a good spot, but Yelp finally directed us to Your Mom's Donuts. We were a little afraid they might be out of donuts given that it was noon and they close at two on a Sunday. She was out of some flavors, but we were able to get 6 different choices. These are square donuts, mostly yeast I think. Many of the flavors seem to come with the icing or toppings, not in the dough itself. The standout right now is the chocolate crème, which is pumped full to the bring with what I can only cal whipped chocolate frosting. It was both light and chocolates at once! The lemon honey was much milder than i expected. I hear the berry and vanilla are also good. I'm holding out on the chocolate brownie one until later, but it looks beautiful. As I continue my doughnut tour throughout Charlotte I find myself at Your Mom's Donuts on Park road. Such a small, confined space to be working out of. No wonder they sell out often.
