I made an appointment here because Sharon Lamkin, PA came highly recommended by my coworker's…read moreboyfriend. I needed an endo because my new insurance are assholes and basically only cover 1 insulin. So I need a physician to battle with the insurance so I can get approved for a CGM, test strips, and my pump. I had a difficult time making my initial appointment, which should have been a red flag. I hate going to new Endos because they always make you come for an appointment every 3-4 months. Like, I have been a type 1 diabetic for 18 years so I think I know a thing or two. Plus I am forever spoiled by my original Endo in NYC. With that being said, I expect to be told I would be seen every 3-4 months during my initial appointment. Once I arrived for my appointment, I was given some paperwork to complete and was told to take a seat in the room adjacent to reception, which was the waiting room. I did not sit there too long and had a lovely conversation with a fellow patient. I was led to an exam room, where my vitals were taken but the BP machine was malfunctioning and the nurse took some time to complete that. I was then led to another exam room and told to take a seat. Sharon entered within 15 minutes and I knew immediately she was great! Sharon reviewed the usual bs with me and offered to assist me with fighting my insurance to obtain a CGM and other supplies. She also offered to give me syringes because she had an abundance but I did not wind up getting them. I had to get labs done so I was sent to the lab, which was in the office. That is always nice. I sat outside the lab and observed an argument between lab techs/phlebotomists and one was not wearing a mask or gloves. I took specific notice to that because we are in a medical environment and the lab should be of utmost importance to take these safety measures! I informed the phlebotomist that I have difficult veins to locate and most have to use a butterfly, to which he stated "that means they didn't know what they were doing". Um actually they did and it was less painful for me. I am always squeamish when getting blood drawn so I shakily wobbled out to the reception when done to complete the wonderful visit. I was told my copay was $20, to which I paid. They made appointments for lab work and follow up with Sharon for 3 months later. In the meantime, Sharon provided me with the contact information for Valerie, who assists patients with insurance issues and obtaining supplies. So of course I emailed Valerie the following week and was immediately met with slack and in my opinion, an attitude. Needless to say, I never heard back from Valerie after one or two emails and I did not receive approval from my insurance for supplies. I tried calling the office over and over, using every extension and no one answered. I later received a bill in the mail for $333 which was for "my copay" and lab work. I was never informed of my lab results. I attempted to call the office several times but alas, no answer. Diane emailed me to obtain funds, to which I told her I never received results so I am not exactly sure why I am paying, how questionable the $150+ extra copay on the bill was, and I would need to do a payment plan. Diane did not have answers for me and requested I call the office. I informed Diane I can never get anyone on the phone, to which she insisted I call her extension-guess what? I called 5 times I always got the voicemail. So I left a message for Diane. I received an email the following day from Diane offering me a payment plan. So basically, Sharon Lamkin was the only smooth part of this experience. This is an extra long review but cmon, it is bad enough we have to live with diabetes that dealing with extra unnecessary obstacles makes it even more defeating.

The only doctor and doctors office I feel literally does not care about me one bit. They are liars and schemers through and through. Every time I leave I joke with my bf on how they're trying to kill me. Please message me if you have any questions, I'd love to tell everyone just how bad this office is. Just be patient because it will take a long time. Why am I still reaching the answering service at 846am?? It's funny how I am not given the option to review you these two places too. Check out photos! PLEASE DO NOT BE FOOLED!!

I've only had my initial meeting with the doctor but after having a number of other doctors for the…read moresame concerns I have to say I feel I'm in competent hands. I'm reasonably smart so I have always gotten background on things that concern my health. I research to the most extensive detail so I would understand how best to convey my concerns and condition to my doctors and also to understand if their diagnosis and treatment makes sense for me. I have caught a few mistakes in my time and I am also one who seems to be the one to find out this kind of information for all of my friends because I am so driven. I have a condition that I have seen several doctors for as well as found all of my information from medical centers universities other doctors overseas and have managed to put together a network of friends who supplied me their information for similar issues that they are going through so I am quite thorough and knowledgeable about whether or not the doctor is up to speed and going to use the latest information or is not. Needless to say but I will, I like a doctor who I can share my concerns, knowledge I have picked up, and to get their opinions on it as well as to understand why they are doing what they are doing because I know my body. This doctor will discuss all of this as well as any questions you can have while being courteous and allowing you all the time you need to explain as well as to understand what she is telling you. This doctor took the time to gather all my background before I even had my first appointment and have taken the time to read all of it and evaluate it so that when we finally met I only have to go over some history and she already had a game plan! I was pretty much sure of the range of possible effective treatments and she was exactly consistent with what I read regarding that! It's nice to find somebody who is so competent in their field that you don't have to wince and research like mad knowing that you're going to get faulty work or diagnosis unless you catch everything! After all this time I have a years spent trying to find the right doctor and treatment for myself I think I can finally say I can let go and let the doctor take over! If I have to find something bad I would say on my three interfaces with the office staff, one time I didn't find them as courteous as I would've hoped for and you may have to wait a while for the doctor but subsequent visits have shown a nice staff to deal with. I am really excited and anxious to just put my self in her hands and start my path toward success! What is stress reducer to have somebody, whether they are your doctor or a plumber or fixing your car, who knows what they are doing so you can just let them do it and relax without worrying!
