I loved all my teachers, shout out to Mr. Hicks. The moms are terrible at driving, so watch out in the parking lot. Also, this school kinda has a gossip problem; the moms even gossip about the kids, and the kids also gossip a lot. The Bayside blaster will always be amazing. I still crave it. The main church's theology was kinda interesting, a little evangelical. Also, the school makes you pledge to the bible, the Christian flag, and the American flag, which felt like it bordered on Christian nationalism since you do them all in order, but do with that as you will. The visual arts are kinda lackluster, and sports are very favored at that school. To be fair, a lot can change in nearly 3 years; this is just my experience. I was also a bit of a menace at this school. The Bathroom parties were exquisite.

I'm relatively new to Bayside and I understand there's been recent changes to the ministry team. I…read morerecently moved to the area and went to several churches in the area which simply did not sit right with me in word or atmosphere. I went to a coffee shop at the Fountains working while I sat outside. My attention was peaked when I overheard two woman nearby speaking about thier faith and I resonated with what they were saying so much that I had to ask them what church they went to as I was currently looking for a new home church. They happily invited me to sit down with them and get to know them briefly as they told me about their church. Then I tried their church at Bayside Adventure. I didn't tell them I was going as I didn't want special expectedness. I went wanting to see the real people involved at Bayside & I was genuinely, tentatively impressed with such a warm, compassionate filled presence. I love that I'm not attending a rock concert in the dark! I love that the pastoral team actively encourages you week to week to follow along in your own Bible, not just expecting you to passively listen to them. I will say, you receive what you put out, if you want to get connected- connections are easily made. If you want to keep to yourself, no intrusion is put upon you. Ive been attending, skipped a couple weeks and each time returning to happy faces that genuinely seem happy to see me and continue to be welcoming. I highly recommend this church, the children's ministry is a huge part of this church too, welcoming families, singles, empty nesters, seniors, men, and women. I would easily say there's something for everyone.

That did not happen: Bayside leaders messed up big time - they did not say a prayer for Charlie Kirk's family or at least have a moment of silence to honor his memory - I left sad and heartbroken... My friends said even Catholic Churches recognized Charlie. Bayside worship leader and pastor did nothing to honor a great Christian who was martyred - I watched the memorial service on YouTube and was so touched... I haven't been to church for awhile, so the visit was truly disappointing- from worship being a performance (overly loud music, lights and video on side screens focused on drummer, etc), this was clearly not about Jesus. Too many inconsistencies in pastor's message, from saying there's true evil in this world and then saying that it's also in all of our hearts: speak for yourself dude... Pastor even joked that he was giving a Ted talk - yeah, it felt like rehearsed speech that he's getting paid for, I didn't trust his words like I believed Charlie Kirk; being a young man trying to find God - I was quite disappointed, didn't feel like this church cares about me.. At one point the pastor said that we're all selfish and our circle of friends are people who like us: does he want us to surround ourselves with people who hate us? Besides few welcoming faces at the entrance- no one came up to chat or cared enough to pray for me. I won't be back and can't recommend this church. I'm sure some churches actually practice what they preach- but not bayside leaders - they are woke liberals, as I'm sure many members are here... From 2005-2020, I served/volunteered and donated a lot of time and $$ to Bayside - no pastor ever recognized my service and donations(even Ray Johnston or Kurt Harlow whom I met) and I came to realize that this liberal mega-church business model is focused on raising $$, not care about people - it's truly a disappointing and heartbreaking experience. Choosing a school for your child is especially important when it's their first time and parents have a right to know what culture exists at St Albans. The school should just be transparent and tell parents up front, that they only want one type of child there and if yours doesn't fit that mold, then they will ask them to leave the school. Our 4 year old got accepted into their PreK program and right before school was due to start, the teacher quit. The replacement teacher was implemented and within 3 weeks of school starting, the problems began. The PreK teacher started sending us these crazy emails that were a formatted play by play and by the minute, of every interaction our child had that day. They made the most normal behaviors of a 4 year old seem as though they were symptoms of a larger problem. They tried to make it sound like our son had a problem keeping still, which may have been the case but given it was only a few weeks into the start of PreK, what else would one expect from a child just starting school for the first time. And that's not even considering children growing up in a society that was locked down for years. Her verbal comments along with the emails continued and made it seem as if our son had some form of Autism, as the teacher even suggested may be the case. She also said he might have hearing problems and that he doesn't know words... I mean the most ridiculous of accusations I've ever heard. We were left dumbfounded, none of what they were accusing him of was true. Our son went to school counting to 100, He knew the entire alphabet and could write it in both capital letters and lower case. He could spell and write his first and last name as well as say his address. Apart from him struggling to keep still at times (and we don't even really know how much of an issue this actually was versus them making it seem worse), he was not a problem child. We have had parents say they are so happy our Son was in the class because he had helped their children feel welcomed, as they were extremely shy and he isn't. We had numerous meetings with the teacher and the Principal, who reassured us the emails were indeed too much and would stop but nothing actually was resolved. They had made up their mind from the first month that they wanted out son gone. The off colored comments as well as the play by play emails continued. All of this happened over a span of approximately 8 -9 weeks from school starting. I just want to be clear, he never did anything to any other students and was never accused of such. We are talking about a 4 year old sitting still and paying attention in class with a teacher who seems unhappy to be there and struggled to control her class, despite having 2 aids there to help. We eventually found out, that many other PreK parents were having the exact same experience. There was one parent who had their 4 year old kicked out a week before we were told to leave, because "their kid was not suited for this school and couldn't sit still". We realized that it wasn't really our child who was the problem, it was the culture of the school. Although they say they never kick out kids from PreK, they do and did. Plus there are reviews out there going back to 2018 of this exact same thing happening. We were told by parents who volunteered at the class, that our child was absolutely fine, he was not being disruptive or problematic and did pay attention. After receiving the last harassing email, we had, had enough and confronted the school about it. But instead of addressing the issue, they told us to remove our child and gave us 3 weeks notice. This came at the worst possible time, to try and find a new school and enroll him right before thanksgiving! So if you are looking at enrolling your children at St.Albans then be warned. Be prepared knowing that your child might be kicked out if in the first weeks of attending, they do not sit completely still. Even if the teacher is clearly checked out and doesn't want to be there, your kids will be the ones that pay the price. They will make it seem like your child has a number of issues and is incapable of being in this environment, that they need 1 on 1 instruction which they can't provide, or something similar. You guys need to know what's really going on at this school, before you start paying $15k a year for the privilege. I wish this review could be different, I really which we could sing the schools praises but we can't. We really do not want to be in this situation and our son is going to be really hurt, having to be taken from the first set of friends he ever made. Horrible experience and I feel bad for the poor parents and children who have had to go through this like us.

The whole school truly treats the kids with Christ at the center and the culture is so welcoming and caring. I personally love that they provide lunch and snacks. Parents also bring in snacks for the class about every other/every month. The place is clean, safe, and vibrantly decorated. They send pictures, videos, and updates to parents, maintaining transparency on what's going on each day. They have a big and little kid playground with bikes for the kids to get plenty of outdoor activities as well as a big gym the kids get to play in on rainy days. My kids have learned how to pray before meals, who Christ is, and how we are saved through him. I love that my kids are excited to know Jesus, learn Bible stories, and sing their Bible songs. The teachers have also met with us to discuss the educational and emotional development of our kids. We've visited a lot of churches in the Rocklin/Roseville area and liked a lot of aspects of different churches, but never felt completely at home. Four weeks ago, we decided to see if any churches around this area had a Saturday evening service. There were two we were deciding between, but this church started 30 minutes later, which gave us some extra time to get ready. I was a little apprehensive when we got there, because you never quite know what to expect when walking into a new church. While we were going from the parking lot to the church entrance, we were greeted by a tall gentleman who shook our hands and chatted with us. Turns out he's one of the pastors here. I think his name is Mark. He was so friendly and fun to talk to. After a few minutes of chatting, he pointed towards another guy closer to the front door who he introduced as another pastor. So we get to the other pastor who introduces himself and we start chatting. We tell him briefly about our church search and he tells us that he knows how hard that can be, and he asks if he could pray for us. I figured that meant he'd pray for us later when he got home (especially since there are so many people going into the sanctuary before service starts). But nope, he prayed for us right then and there! I thought that was the coolest thing. I know praying isn't that huge of a deal, but for a pastor of a large church to just drop everything and pray for a couple of strangers he just met....well, I thought it was pretty awesome. So we walk into the sanctuary and I look around. It's a lot of younger people---maybe in their teens, twenties, early thirties? It reminded me a lot of my youth group days. I wasn't sure how comfortable I'd feel there. The music was about to start and several people gathered in front of the stage. My husband whispered to me, "They have a mosh pit???" I was still apprehensive but then the music started and I was BLOWN AWAY. The worship team that day was simply amazing. You know a group has such God-given talent when they can bring you to that heart of worship and you can tune them out, close your eyes, and just worship freely. Their musical skills were very impressive too. Everything, musically, just blended so perfectly together. Probably one of the best worship teams I've heard in a local church. I honestly felt like I was in a concert like Chris Tomlin or Hillsong, with professional musicians (maybe they are). I know it's a good sign when I have to pull out Kleenex during the worship time. Then Pastor Bob Hasty (?) came out to speak and his sermon was convicting, challenging but also very interesting. I left that church service that night and was on a spiritual high all week. I couldn't wait to go back the following week. Songs that we sang stayed in my mind all week, and I was so thankful for that church service. We've been back three more times after that, and there have been weeks where it's mind-blowing like that first week, but also times that have been just...ok. [To be honest, if we had come on weeks 2 and 4, I'm not sure I'd have been as excited to come back. Sometimes when some women lead worship, the dancing, moving, yelling, and carrying on gets very distracting and you're no longer able to just focus on the worship.] If you're visiting this church, you need to stop by when that particular worship team (I'll have to get that guy's name) is leading worship. He has such a gift, and I'm thankful for those two weeks where he led worship for us. Not sure how often he and his team leads....maybe every other week? All the pastors we have met are such amazing men of God. Service starts and ends on time, and everyone is so friendly and caring. They even give first-timers a great devotional book! Their child care services are excellent also! I invited our friend to come, and she brought her 5-year-old daughter to their "Jungle" area. Check in was smooth and her daughter LOVED being there. As we were leaving, she said to her mom, "Can we come back again?" You know child care workers (especially that one girl with the cool purple/blue hair) have done a great job when you have kids wanting to come back to church. It's wonderful to find such a Spirit-filled church in the area that also has Saturday evening services! Wow!
