It is a home away from home and I know that each day that I leave my child in their hands, that she is more than well taken care of. They are extremely communicative and share classroom updates, school news and photos of my child each and every day. There is a lot of modern technology, they even have robots. The staff is absolutely amazing! Everyone makes you feel at home. There is one class per grade which adds to the home like feeling since the school is small and more intimate. 1:8 ratio, each class has a total of 16 students and a teacher and educational assistant. So each child gets the attention they need. They also provide individual educational plans. The students learn BOTH Mandarin and Spanish. And they also offer global studies. It's project based learning so not a lot of homework and busy worksheet type work. I'm blown away with everything CIS has to offer my child! This school is everything I thought it would be! My child is thriving so much! And it feels like a real family here. I love how small and intimate it is. And I'm really looking forward to my child growing up with her classmates over the years. A friends son who goes there told me just to call and visit that the staff is very accommodating and addressed all my concerns. They also let him visit a couple times before enrollment (Mrs. King is assigned teacher is amazing) and all the parents seem so friendly and good, wholesome families. I also wasn't sure if my son was going to take to it. He loved it from day one! The teachers all have smiling faces. I love that they work more on academics than some of the other schools seemed like their were more into creativity or independence. Even though they do all that too. Only after a week, I see such a difference in my 3 year old. He actually tells me each day what he learns. The staff is kind if they have accident and I feel safe having my son in their care and he is progressing as a student as well. I wish I knew the cute songs he is singing about school.

GBSH is a warm and caring environment where our children are flourishing. Not only do our children love Ms. Williams, we do too! They are challenged academically without losing the fun that preschool should provide. Also, the indoor playground is a great idea as our kids' recess at their prior school was frequently cancelled in the summer due to excessive heat and in the winter due to rain and cold. We love that our kids get to burn off energy EVERY day regardless of the weather. We toured numerous preschools and day care facilities before choosing GBSH for the quality of its teachers and the instant rapport that our kids had with Ms. Williams on our first visit.

"Application" process was easy and I did a virtual tour via FaceTime with Millie (one of the owners). She was super calm and answered every single question I had & showed me every nook and cranny or the school and where kiddo was going to be. PK2 here we come! 1st day I don't think it ever gets easier sending your kiddo to a new school. Kiddo was a touch apprehensive of a new environment but Teacher Nikki was so incredibly warm and welcoming to kiddo (and hubs and I)! Immediately I knew he was going to be just fine. We met Teacher Monique the next day or so - they coteach PK2 - and she's a gem. Both teachers are warm & caring (like aunties) and their love for teaching shines through! The classroom Together Monique & Nikki have created a thriving classroom full of areas to explore with defined spaces & boundaries. There a reading circle, pet fish, reading pod, and then nap mats for the kiddos to use after lunch before afternoon activities. If the kids don't nap they do have the option to read/look at books quietly. The PK2 classroom has two restrooms with kiddo sized toilets and sinks. Each season brings new decorations to the classroom (and school). There are days when kiddo is having a rough morning and both Teacher Nikki and Teacher Monique are angels getting him into class quickly, settled and then sharing with us that he's ok which I so appreciate because there's nothing worse than leaving your kiddo in tears! The school overall Goddard does a host of extra activities- summer bbq, Father's Day celebration, Trunk-or-Treat, holiday concert to name a few. Each brings the Goodard teachers & families together in a special way, along all to get to know each other a little better, enabling us partner for our kid's. Goddard is a pretty special place. My teachers were Mr. Robison, Mr. Keisling, Mrs. Chew-Smyth, and Mrs. Ellis. These teachers were genuinely the most welcoming and loving teachers I've ever had, they made my seventh grade year better than everybody said it would be. I was told it would be the worst year of my life, but the teachers, the students, the inclusivity and diversity and welcoming every where made me feel so happy. I took advantage of the school and judged every part that I didn't like about it, and though it wasn't perfect, it was home. In my new school, there are no welcome signs anywhere, there's no personal connections with the teachers to the students, there's no happiness and it feels like just a business environment. I explained I already had one scheduled and received a confirmation email. The director said "okay see you then" and hung up. I ended up needing to cancel the tour and replied via email that I needed to cancel (as the email instructed) and stated I would contact the school when I needed to reschedule. I've received phone calls almost everyday for the last 2 weeks asking to reschedule and every time I've answered I've explained and made it explicitly clear that I would call to reschedule and they did not need to call me so frequently. I've started letting their phone calls go to voicemail.
