I've been in this cute store but first time writing a review. At this stage of my life I don't buy as much. I feel in love with some switch plates hey had. I bought one with a bunny on top as I used to collect them, ceramic, stuffed, outdoors and pins. My only issue screws did not work. Too long and too wide, luckily my husband found some that would work. They are pricey as I have purchased other plates but they are well made from Canada. Service was good and everyone was friendly. read more

This gift store at the west end of Main Street was my favorite gift store in Cambria, partly because the man at the counter was so nice. Amiable, low key, warm. I'd like to think he's the owner but I don't know. But also because they had a gazillion things that I could have bought as gifts for people (or myself) that were fun, attractive, and unique. While in Cambria for a few days we perused both the east end and the west end stores, and the bit in the middle (Tip: The Garden Shed is in the middle and fun to walk around all the vendors displays with a cup of to-go-coffee in hand from Lily's Coffee next door.) But back to Home Arts. Best organized and displayed selection of gifts, cards, affordable art pieces, some ceramics, some jewelry, some baby and child items. I bought a few Christmas gifts here and will definitely come back. read more

My daughter and I loved this store. I loved how they organized the store by different themes or objects such dios de Los muertos, Halloween, dogs, etc. we bought birthday and thank you gifts plus gifts to myself and my daughter (lol!). The woman behind the counter was nice enough to hold my items while we shopped and she gift wrapped some of them. The pieces were really reasonably priced. Home Arts is my dream store for all things decorative, gift and wearable related. It seems all of their merchandise is well curated and of a certain nature-inspired, shabby chic motif. They arrange the store by themes-so all ocean animal décor, notecards and accessories will be one section and it's all very well merchandised. Prices are very good for some one-of-a kind gifts for yourself or others. Eclectic and unique finds are all around. Everything from wall artwork, to notecards to candles, jewelry, pillows and more can be found here in cute and quirky styles. I ended up spending about $50 for a cute little animal themed canvas print, some woodland animal Christmas ornaments and a stuffed Narwhal (yes you can find THOSE here too.) It was an adorable hodge-podge of a purchase but I left oh so happy and had so much fun browsing the unique and wonderful Home Arts store. read more

I love the variety in this store! Everything is super cute, and I love the fact that the store owner is actually willing to enforce the mask mandate--it makes me feel a little safer knowing that I can shop without worrying about COVID risk. Pandemic aside, the store has an eclectic collection of tasteful items that you won't find anywhere else--I really wish I could have it all in my home! I always find at least one, "must-buy" item when I visit, which is rare for me. The staff is great, and the owner is down to earth and super helpful! I have been coming here with my boyfriend for a few years now and we LOVE this store! We come out of our way to see this place and say hi to the lovely owner (and her staff is beyond friendly). I love the different themes in each section of the store, and the items are well made AND well priced! It's not your typical beach store with touristic items, every item placed in the store is with thought! Overall, the owner always has such wonderful things for sale, is organized with so much love and thought, and we are always surprised by the new items in stock! My family and I have been traveling down highway one and exploring the coastal towns as we go. Cambria was our last stop before heading inland and this store was my favorite of the trip. The prices were high, yes, but I simply couldn't help but drop some dollars here. Not only are their products ranging from stickers, to postcards, to socks and larger decor and dinnerware, but it's also so wonderfully organized and accessible. You can find any of your interest here. They have sections for butterflies, camping, pride, otters, cats, dogs, and so much more! Each section has its own limitless options and there is something for everyone, even gifts for small children in the back of the store. I could have spent all day in this little shop and the people working were so kind, asking where I was from, and being so patient despite me walking in right before closing time. If I lived near by I could see myself doing all kinds of gift shopping here! read more

If you could love a store, this one would have my heart. I make it a point to go here every time I visit Cambria and it's always the highlight of the trip. The quirky and delightfully curated selection is never a disappointment and never fails to make me smile - I always walk away with a little (or sometimes big!) goodie and a happy heart. I would love to give it 5 stars, considering how much I love it (see first sentence again) but I have noticed the last two times I visited that the prices have really gone up. I'm not sure why that is, but it's a little discouraging as it has turned into more of a window-shopping experience. I would love to see the prices go down a bit, similar to what they were before (items costing an avg. of $15-20 rather than the current avg. of $30+), but I will never stop visiting as long as the store sticks around. Horrible customer service!! The lady who picked up had no clue who I was and just hung up.

I took my mom into Home Arts after seeing it on the street. We are from Los Osos and don't really get up to Cambria to do the "tourist-y" area's of Cambria's Old-Town. Although the owner has impecible taste of product (I loved the pick of the Frida artwork) she needs to change her staff right now. The clerk (later found out to be the local school librarian) was the rudest employee I have ever ran across. As her and another employee had a long conversation about the trials and tribulations of Poison Oak, she never looked our way, never said hello, never asked if we needed assistance. We wandered the store unhelped for another 15 minutes. We admired many of Tina's picks in the store, and found a few gifts for family. When we approached the counter to purchase our finds the clerks went out of their way to be as rude as possible. We were asked if "This is it" she then snatched the credit card, then asked for a signature. The bag was promptly tossed on the counter and the clerks turned to talk to each other. I even stayed back when another customer approached the desk to see if they were treated the same way, and they were. I have to agree with these other posts that the artwork and works on sale at Home Arts are very beautiful, but after her employee's gave us the most horrible customer service I have ever received I will never be going back (I will also be telling everyone I know along the Central Coast to be following suit). I ask that Tina focus on training her employees on how to say the words: "Hello, how are you?" and "Thank you for shopping here today" instead of posting cute notes around the store asking you not to shoplift. read more

Spent a girls weekend along the central coast. We ended up spending an entire day in Cambria shops and restaurants. This store enamored all three of us for almost an hour. Despite it's small size, it packs a lot of punch in the form of adorable trinkets and treasures. Even though I perused the reviews and knew everyone was raving about this store, I was expecting it to be more of a "mom" store, based on what I know about Cambria and the name Home Arts. Also, the big beach/ ocean section everyone kept mentioning seemed like it would be the generic (and usually tacky) stuff that people are always decorating their home bathrooms with. Boy, was I wrong and so glad I stopped by! This store is awesome. Not tacky at all, in fact there were so many things I wanted to buy, I had to keep myself in check. Tons of really unique items that were cute, clever, or gorgeous. If you have ever been to Pigment in San Diego, it has the same vibe (indie store with carefully curated items). I was also surprised at how most things were very reasonably priced! I ended up buying an interesting mirror, made up of smaller round mirrors for $29. There were many other items I was eyeing including jewelry, handmade leather goods, holiday ornaments, ceramic and glass decor items... the list goes on. I will definitely be back next time I am in the area, and you should stop by, too! read more

i came here to look and shop around with my family, and we were very excited because we found some items we were going to purchase and gift. unfortunately the lady who was working was ABSOLUTELY rude and unkind for no reason at all. i was reaching into my bag for my phone and she came up to me & grabbed my items abruptly and put them back on the shelf. she said i was going to take pictures or something which was just not true at all. 1. i own a small business myself and if i ever had any of my employees treat a customer like that they would not have a job anymore. 2. treating customers like that doesn't get you success or build you a good name. i don't care what her reason was or what she thought i was doing. there are different ways to handle situations, that was not it. i left the store without buying anything. i found the books i wanted on amazon and the other items at a different shop down the street. i'm so disappointed with the way i was treated. Being kind to others is huge for me, and shopping at this store was the complete opposite of my expectations. i would give it zero stars if i could. Do better! read more

Somewhere between Anthropologie and beachy casual lies Home Arts. There were tons of things that we wanted to get, but one can only carry so much... The owner seemed to handle the heavy traffic in the store really well and knew everything about any item you might pick up. Great pottery, signs, furniture, pillows, lamps... you name it :o) Spent a good 45 minutes in a store that was no more than about 700 sq. ft. Would definitely recommend checking it out. read more

Home Arts is the epitome of design perfection. If you are looking to decorate your home with flawless style then this is the place to go. My husband and I stumbled upon Home Arts on our honeymoon and must have spent at least an hour slowly meandering from one amazing item to the next. Make sure that you have plenty of time to look around or else you will miss some hidden treasures. We got to talking with the cashier and she informed us that the owner travels around the country purchasing items that she likes and wants to sell in her shop. No wonder there is such a unique blend of items to choose from. As we were making our purchases, the cashier wanted to know if we were newlyweds since she had picked up on those vibes as we were shopping. Of course, we said yes and she gave us a free candle as a congratulations on our new marriage. Such a sweet gesture and totally unexpected. It takes every ounce of my will power not to buy everything in this store.They have such a great variety of unique home decor items. From items for an ultra hip kids from ( the whale mobile) to funny/ witty cards, paintings, photos, candles, furniture, etc. i have a super long list going of additional items I want to buy the next time I'm in town. I purchased two hand knitted Christmas ornaments, one was a buffalo and the other a highland cow, which were an amazing find! Wonderful little shop tucked away the end of the charming Main Street in Cambria. So many special gifts and souvenirs, wonderful home accents and neat things that I just haven't seen anywhere else! I had a sincerely hard time deciding what would come home with me. This is not your typical tourist souvenir shop selling kitschy items that your grandma would by. They actually sell cute items that range from home furniture, ceramics, fun cards for all occasions, soaps, and clothing accessories and much more. My sister and I picked up quite a few items for our friends birthdays and my mother-in-law. The owner was really nice as well and chatted with us while we checked out. I also noticed the owner knew a few of the customers that came through which means they keep coming back during their visits to Cambria. And yes, as other reviewer have mentioned photo taking isn't allowed, but I just had to take some incognito style to show how cute the items in the store are! I walked in and enjoyed the goods. I found a cute coaster that was five bucks. I couldn't purchase the item because I didn't have enough cash so I wanted to pay with my card. There was no sign that I was aware of that said due to merchant services we can't charge a card for merchandise under ten dollars. She asked if that was my budget for the day, which I thought was rude, and I said yes. She said, sorry bye and smirked when I was saying she made me feel like an idiot because she didn't have a sign up. She obviously thinks I don't know what merchant services are and if she was nicer about it I wouldn't have been so irritated. Sounds like I am not the only person that thinks the clerks are off putting. Pretty much, that wasn't my budget, I just wanted one item. The clerk is rude and don't shop here if you don't want anything more than ten bucks and you can only pay with a card. read more

This place has the cutest stuff, especially if you are looking for nautical themed home goods. Everything seems high quality and seems reasonably priced. But what really sets Home Arts apart is the great customer service! I found a huge wire peace sign that I fell in love with and was delighted to find it was less than 50 bucks! But it was 3 feet by 3 feet and I live across the country so as we were checking out I asked the woman working if had any recommendations for shipping. She said I could come back and she would give me some cardboard so I could get it packed up. When I returned, she had some boxes broken down and measured. So yesterday we drove to Cambria. Quaint little town with quaint little shops. We went into a little shop called Home Arts. It's not your typical tourist shop and they have really great, unusual items. I was by the register looking at greeting cards and saw one that said "I suffer from PTSD (post Trump stress disorder)." I chuckled and said "good grief." The woman behind the counter (who I believe was the owner) said "you must be in the wrong shop." I said "I guess I am.. Then she said "You're one of the UNINTELLIGENT ones." I was flabbergasted! I couldn't believe she said that to me! I responded by saying at least I don't stand around whining about everything and walked out. So my political views may be different than hers. OK so what? Did I solicit a conversation with her about President Trump? No. Did I tell her she was unintelligent for selling a card that I feel insults individuals who truly suffer from PTSD? No. But what I can say is that she needs to grow up and be a professional in her place of business. I can also say that hell will freeze over before I ever step foot in the Home Arts store again. read more

Awesome store that has something for every price range and a diverse selection of home/art items. Many stores in Cambria seem to only have really expensive things, but you can find cool unique things and gifts here in all price ranges.
