Awesome store that has something for every price range and a diverse selection of home/art items. Many stores in Cambria seem to only have really expensive things, but you can find cool unique things and gifts here in all price ranges. Though the store is quaint and cute - I will never step foot in there again . I believe it was the owner that was extremely rude and condescending . I wanted to take a picture of something and she told me absolutely not allowed and that it was a form of stealing . Though she did say that she realized that I didn't know that (the condescending part) , seriously ??? Why is it ok for a store owner to talk that way to a customer ? Amazing little shop with tons of things you didn't know you needed! I always stop here whn I'm in Cambria and stock up on gifts for others!

RACIST STORE OWNER. PEOPLE OF COLOR BEWARE. After a long day of house hunting in the area, my husband, 5 month-old and I walked into this shop. We were greeted by the store owner who then proceeded to follow us around the entire store. There were at least ten other customers also perusing items at the same time who were ignored. However the store owner chose to hover over our shoulders and pretend to tidy things at our heels (my husband literally almost bumped into her). All of our other experiences in Cambria have been welcoming, with other shop owners being friendly - this experience has been our only unpleasant one. We will NEVER stop here again and will warn all visiting family and friends to avoid this place like the plague. read more

This is just an ADD ON, to my previous review, my review still stands on it's own merit, and as I read other reviews I realize I wasn't alone in my feelings . As the shop keeper stated, yes we were walking by, but when she came out aggressively ( broom in hand) with a prunish scowl it was enough to chase even the most kind person away. But alas I see it all clearly now, because she can read minds and foretell the future , maybe the broom wasn't for sweeping , maybe she was using it as a vehicle , but who knows? I guess it must drive her nuts when tourist snap pics of her store when she's closed too? I sense a control issue. She is right in this, the fornicating fruit was down the way along with the store with Mardi Gra masks and other forms of " Art" sure to delight. But she is wrong in this instance, a friendly smile or cute story and I would have purchased it. A cool postscript to this story is I was able to buy a similar poster for 5.99 at a yard sale! read more

This is my FAVORITE store ever!. My family and I vacation in Cambria every other year or so and coming here is one of the things I look forward to the most! I will agree with some of the other yelpers about customer service. This last time we weren't even acknowledged until checkout. The girl behind the counter was on her cell phone looking down the entire time. It didn't really bother me much though since I don't need assistance when shopping here. We've met the owner a few times and she is always very friendly. I could easily drain my bank acct here and take everything home with me! I look forward to coming back next time! read more

Super cute cottage beach stuff.

One of the cutest stores we visited in Cambria and I'm not ashamed to say we had to go in twice. Off the bat, loved that they were dog friendly and actually interacted with my pup. As soon as you walk in the door, there's super cute tchotchkes everywhere. Everything is mostly sorted by theme, and you can find something for just about anybody. Things are super fairly priced (especially considering you're supporting a small business) and I really have to say, it's bittersweet that we were road tripping from out of state and couldn't take the furniture home. There were several pieces that would've worked perfectly and were really appealing because of their versatility. If you're in need of gifts, decor, or small things just to treat yourself, this is definitely a store you need to stop into. It was incredibly hard to decide between certain things when we went in, so prepare for a little bit of time in here. read more

We love this place and always stop in whenever we are in the Cambria area. They have an interesting mix of modern accessories and furnishings as well as "beach casual" items. It's a bit crowed in there, so don't try to bring a stroller or small kids who likes to grab things in, but definitely check it out. read more

This is my favorite store in Cambria. I go to Cambria almost every year and I always get at least one thing from Home Arts. They have amazing home decor; small and large. I stop into this store whenever we pass through Cambria. The selection is well cultivated for an Anthropologie-meets-beach home with many locally crafted furniture and decorations. The store is well laid-out and I have so much fun browsing. The owner has a little something for everyone. I am in love with this store and always find something I need to take home with me. This time, I bought tea towels stitched by the 89 year old great aunt of a friend of the owner. How sweet is that? Prices are reasonable and the service is so friendly. read more

I travel extensively in the US and I am every 3 months in Paris, France, but I have rarely experienced such a well displayed, pleasant and customer-friendly store! I was so thankful for the effort and talent of the owner (s?) that I had to buy something although I had zero intention originally. Rudeness. They love their stuff. Tried to write down the name of an author of one of the books in the shop and the storekeeper came over and took the books away and put them in the back. We asked if we could have the author's name and the lady said, "No, we are not here to be a resource." Just rudeness. I put down the items I had in my hand and decided that I did not need any of their overpriced items. I'll take my business someplace else. read more

Great shop! Love the items for sale and actually found several gifts to buy! But after being in this shop and hearing how rude they were with other customers, I wouldn't give them a penny of my money. The shop ladies were just talking amongst themselves and not bothering to help anyone. But what did it for me was overhearing them talk about an elderly costumer in their shop in a very disrespectful way. If you have the opportunist to visit beautiful Cambria, you might just want to stop in and see them in action for yourself! The perpetual cross expressions on their faces was most curious and I was wondering what must have happen to them to have made them appear so aggravated. There is one shop keeper with shoulder length light colored hair that will come out from behind the counter and pretend not to see you but will be unintrusively watching you like a hawk. Rather funny if you think of how pathetic these snobby shop keepers really are. I would say they lost about $400.00+ in sales that day just from me! I'm thinking that maybe some customer kindness and curtesy would really help boost there business. read more

I have been coming to Cambria 2-3 times a year since 1993. I have gone to Home Arts every time I'm in town since they opened up. I love the ambience and style--a delight to behold. Only problem is that it is so popular it can get crowded. Nonetheless, I have purchased everything from paintings from local artists, jewelry, soaps, dishware, and cards! our favorite store i cambria. my husband and i come to cambria every other month, special occassions and just to enjoy the area. we frequent this store and purchase several things from it. it has a cute, modern coastal theme that all the items in the store are individually chosen by the owner. alot of its products are locally made or in US. not mass produced. and not able to find anywhere else. read more

I love the treasures I found in here while passing through Cambria! I would have loaded up on more, but we were flying back home and I didn't want to deal with shipping items from vacation. Prices for most things are reasonable, especially for special pieces and statement pieces for your home. Also some sweet souvenir items and baby shower gifts too. The minus one star is due to all the rules and signs posted in and outside of the store. I never online shop and I try my best to give my patronage to local places (and push funds into the local economy of places I visit), but I try strongly rely on my sense of touch to gauge the quality of items, especially pricey pieces. There were many items that had signs instructing you not too touch and the shop was so crowded that I didn't want to wait for assistance just to be granted permission to touch an item. I would say that is the only part I was not in love with, and I am definitely not accustomed to that as my favorite little, local shops in the Springs know that if I touch it, I will probably buy it, lol! read more

Home Arts is my favorite shop in Cambria. The merchandise is carefully curated by the owner, Tina. You will find many one-of-a-kind beach-themed home items here, including throws and throw pillows, ceramics, mirrors, paintings, lamps, and books. There's usually a few upholstered pieces for sale, as well as jewelry and leather goods. The taste level at Home Arts is not the kitschy beach stuff you quite often find in shops in tourist areas, but more of a "contemporary meets the ocean" vibe. I have shopped here each time I am in town, which is around four times a year. I have always found the staff friendly and helpful. Of course they do not want people taking pictures of items they sell, so you can try to recreate the item yourself! This is a small shop, whose livelihood depends on sales, not to mention the many local artisans who will not get reorders if their items do not sell. Many shops and galleries, in this town and elsewhere, have a no photos policy. Nothing new here, and certainly not something the proprietress should be criticized for. read more
