I called this facility inquiring about certain items ... the person who answered the telephone was RUDE beyond imagination ... absolutely not helpful whatsoever ... officious and nasty. I will go over there and check out their merchandise nonetheless, but if I receive the kind of non-attention that I just received via telephonic communication, then they may take their company and shove it. I went to consign a couple pieces and the lady in the back was completely rude. She was tagging items and made me stand there and watch her tag items for 20 minutes before she decided I had waited long enough. At one point she said I will be with you shortly maybe. I will never consign there again. It took all of 3 minutes for her to look at the 2 small items I brought in once she decided I had stood there long enough! read more

I love this place. They only take nice items on consignment so don't expect a thrift store bargain hunt, And don't expect to pay thrift store prices. But what you do get for the money here is usually a great deal. There really is something for everyone here since the furniture and jewelry they take on consignment comes from a varied sense of style. I usually make at least two walks around when I shop there. The place is huge for a consignment store and densely (although not chaotically) stocked. Yes, it is true what some of the people who posted here said, the staff is a bit aloof. But they aren't rude, they just don't seem to be all that customer service oriented. I actually find it refreshing - I hate it when I go into a store and every 5 minutes there is someone asking me if I need any help (NO! if I did, I'd ask for it.) Overall, this is my go to store when I need a piece of furniture. If I don't find what I am looking for the first time, I surely will on my second try. read more

No, no, no, this is quality furniture, art, and accessories all from upscale homes in the Westlake/Lakeway areas and beyond! Add to that items from model homes, showroom floors, factory overruns and more. 18,000 square feet of LOTS of great stuff to look at. The prices there are a fraction of what you will see in upscale furniture stores. I have turned a lot of people on to the Consignment Center, try it out, you will be happy you did. It will be your new favorite store!! (Why am I writing this? I would really rather keep this little gem a secret.) The sales women and especially the manager of this store are rude and look down on people. They all need to take a course in customer relations and basic civility. I had a very unpleasant experience there and won't shop there again. There are too many other great shops with nice employees to waste my time, energy and money at this store where customers are not appreciated. read more

I've always had good luck selling items through Home Consignment in Bee Cave. Most recently, several of the furniture items were rather large, so they sent one of their reps (Maggie) to come by my house and assess the items for potential sales price as well. I have to scoff at those who say Home Consignment is just an upscale Goodwill. To the contrary, I found our Bee Cave Center to be very selective about what they will and won't accept. One has to remember that it's in a consignment shop's interest to sell items in their showroom as quickly as possible (and to get the highest price they can) within that time limit. In my case, I was initially surprised they didn't accept a couple of really nice antique items I had, but Maggie pointed out that they really don't have a lot of antique buyers, so they don't keep many on hand. For those selling items by consignment, it should be remembered that selling prices may be somewhat different (lower) than what you'd find via Craigslist or by private individual sale. Remember, Home Consignment is limited to walk-in customers and they can't afford to let an item sit around for months waiting for that one customer who might be willing to pay a premium price. Very oddly, they don't have an online inventory - which certainly limits their potential customer group size. Normal consignment commission is 50% of the selling price minus one-half of any credit card transaction charges (usually a couple of dollars). Home Consignment usually has the authority to reduce the asking price up to 20% to make the sale, although I found this is necessary in less that a quarter of the sales. Checks are mailed out weekly for the net proceeds of any items sold. The only reason I didn't give Home Consignment 5 stars was what I perceive as a lack of normal 'financial visibility' back to sellers on the final sale price of their items. For example, a seller will receive a net proceeds check in the mail with a notation what item(s) were sold. Unfortunately, when several items were sold at once, there is no statement or accounting notes to indicate what the final sales price of each item is, what transaction costs were incurred, etc. I found the lack of a mailed final statement somewhat odd and a bit disconcerting, although I have no reason the company is doing anything nefarious. Home Consignment response is that 'they don't send out statements' but the seller is 'welcome to ask the final accounting of any consignment'. Perhaps, but I'd still like to see it in print with the check I receive. All in all, as a seller, I'm satisfied with my dealings with Home Consignment in Bee Cave and would recommend their services - just be aware of their motivations and see if it works in your best interest as well. read more

A friend bought a leather sectional here at a great price and referred me but when I called, the lady would not take one minute to snap a photo for me of a thousand dollar plus sectional i was very interested in. I explained that I was an hour away but she said I should just check out the north location and refused to forward me a photo. Customer service must not factor in to the sales commissions. read more

I also went there this past weekend,much to my dismay, I found nothing other than new patio furniture which was over-priced and a whole lot of Macys furniture that was all damaged. The sales lady Christie could barely come out of the office to help me, let alone anyone else. The store looked like a bargain basement Dollar General. What happened to the staff they used to have a year ago? The old store manager and sales staff were very friendly and treated everyone like family. This new staff seems as though they cant be bothered with anyone or thing, so it feflects in their inventory and attitude. Too many consignments shops in the area to be bothered with this one! What a total turnoff. I did not go there to buy but rather pick up some merchandise my boss bought. I did like that they verified who I was and that I was authorized to pick up the merchandise. After that it was hey we got the money you are on your own. I asked for a dolly and was told to go to the back to get it. When I got back there a couple of useless guys said there were none. I asked for cardboard to lay in the back of the truck. I was told to go back to the dumpster. You might find some there. My cohort and I loaded everything with no help or even an offer. When I told my boss about the experience he said "Well, they were real nice when we were there". Note Home Consignment Ctr: When you collect money the sales process has just begun....not ended. Especially for what you are charging for this merchandise. I felt discriminated against! Not because as a Hispanic male I was better dressed than customers in your store.
