I had gas installed in my house in June of 2019 and Home Gas drove into my driveway with a big truck that was bigger than the driveway and broke two sprinkler. They scratched my wood floors moving the stove, it is damaged to a point that I will have to redo my whole kitchen floor. They made a big hole in my kitchen cabinet to get gas through and left the hole open and mouses started getting into the house, not to say Palmetto bugs. I had to pay for the above repairs, since I have called several times and they have ignored my calls, or told me that they sent someone to my house and they could not see anything, I was not there when they came, what were they supposed to see. Every time they come out, there is an issue! They charge you for not being home if they come out YET we tell them to Call FIRST to make sure someone will be home {we have gates}. Today they came out... I get the call when they are at my gate. I proceed to tell her that they are lucky I was home bc of course they didn't call ahead as requested 100+ times.... the girl says "I did call, last Friday at 10:23am" Me: "who did you speak with?" Girl "no one answered" SO YOU spoke with no one lady! She keeps arguing with me that she called! As I look out to see the man filling my tank, I realize he's stepping all over my orchids that I purchased YESTERDAY! Plants broken! He did not care to use the area cut out behind the landscaping for them to use to fill the tank! When I show him what he's done and show him the walk way.... his answer, "Well, I'm new!" I can't stand this company and need to find another gas company NOW. They lack everything from billing, to drivers, to office personnel! read more

Read the reviews; this is my second review. My last propane refill was in February; I paid the bill. I changed over to a new company in May. I received a bill from Home Gas the month of June stating they filled my tank; and billed me for company equipment. This company should be reported to the BBB. -10 stars! read more

Stay away from these guys. They TRESPASSED on my property to take their tank. Not so much as a reminder or any correspondence whatsoever to inform us that anything was wrong with the account. They came late on Thursday. Friday morning, our tenant informed us they had no gas and noticed the tank was missing. We thought it had been stolen. We called the gas company and they admitted to taking it. To top it off they had the 'it's not my problem attitude" when we told them that we couldn't leave our tenants with the inability to use their stove until the following week. As a result, we discontinued the service at that property AND decided to move our service as well. Two lost clients in one fell swoop. We reported the trespassing incident and filed a police report. read more

The only reason I am giving them one star is because Yelp forces you to do so. I have been with Home Gas since I moved into my home in February 2015. Since then, they have mailed out the bills late three times. Twice, I was charged late fees, which I called and had them reversed since it was their fault. On a side note, their customer service girl is not very friendly nor efficient. It took an act of God just to set up the account. Last month, I never received a bill. I called twice and was told it was being mailed. I said it had been a few weeks and did not want my account to go past due because they had not invoiced me. I asked if I could pay online but they are not set up to facilitate online payments for their clients. I did not receive the bill until just recently and was billed for two months. Surprisingly, there was no late fee assessed because I assume they realized this was their fault. I immediately sent out the payment for the full amount due (2 months). To my surprise this morning, Home Gas went to my house this morning without any advance notice and disconnected my gas. Coincidentally, I am having work done in my home and the plumber notified me of what was transpiring. I immediately called Home Gas to ask what was going on. Paul explained that I had not paid my bill and therefore I was being disconnected. After further research, he saw that they had received my check two days ago. I demanded they immediately reconnect my gas as I am having a plumbing inspection done today and not having hot water will be an issue. He rudely yelled at me and said he was doing the best he could and someone would be there in 45 minutes. Apparently, they are quick to disconnect but not as quick to correct their error. Not only that, there is absolutely no manners, courtesy or respect when speaking to a client, or shall I say yelling? Because at this point, all Paul was doing was yelling at me! When I asked to speak to the owner, this Paul guy said the owner was not in the office. Maybe he is out disconnecting the gas lines for other paying clients. I asked to be transferred to his cell phone and was told it was company policy not to provide the owner's cell (I never asked for it). He rudely hung up the phone on me. I should be angry about this, but given his lack of customer service skills, I am not surprised. Home Gas, you have absolutely the worst customer service. I too am in the service industry and if I ever spoke to a client in this manner, I think it's safe to say my employer would terminate me. Then again, most in Miami have no class, manners nor respect. Needless to say, I am in the process of looking for a new gas company. read more

Home Gas is a truly awful company. They are very unprofessional, never answer the phone (they "open" at 8am, but I called till about 9:30am until I got someone on the line), and are uncooperative. We recently purchased a multi-family apartment building which uses propane to heat the water heater. Home Gas had been servicing the previous owner's account for a number of years. Suddenly, when I tried to use Home Gas they refused to fill the tank. They claimed the water heater it heats isn't installed properly even though it passed various home inspections. Moreover, they had been servicing the account as I mentioned, and somehow never noticed this issue? They can't keep their stories straight. And they wanted me to spend a lot of money to switch to a tankless water heater. They called me (the previous owner went to their store to discuss this situation), and when I informed them that we found a new company, they threatened to report them to the State! Very nice, Home Gas! They said I'm using their tank, even though their tech said it was from another company! DON'T USE HOME GAS!! They are the worst! read more

I cant begin to explain just how unprofessional, incompetent and disrespectful this company and its employees are. I set up a new account with this company when we moved into our house. Everything seemed to be fine until I called for a tank refill. No one showed up (twice), so I called to inquire. The company sent someone out (not sure when to be honest, no one rang our doorbell or left us a bill or even a note saying they had come by). I called again to inquire and was told that someone had come by to refill the tanks. Everything seemed to be working properly with our gas range and I asked about our bill to which I was told it was in the mail. Fast forward two months and I still didnt receive a bill. Next thing I know our gas is shut off and I find a crumpled piece of paper wedged between our front door and the door frame that says our service has been interrupted due to non payment. I called to inquire about this and was told that the bills have been sent. I told them I never received a bill and asked what the billing address was on file, as it should be the same as the service address. The address they had on file is A UPS STORE ON MIRACLE MILE. I didnt know it was possible to live at a UPS store. I was then yelled at by the "customer service" rep who told me that it "should have occurred to me to call and find out why I didnt get a bill". I guess its my responsibility to make sure they send me a bill...? I immediately cancelled the service to which they showed up to my home almost immediately to pick up their tanks. Pathetic. This is not a company--its a joke. Stay as far away as possible. read more

This is the absolute worst, most unprofessional and incompetent company I've ever seen. They have no compassion or respect for their customers. Before hurricane Irma, they promised me delivery of my gas on four consecutive days. They never showed or called to explain. Had they simply told me they would be unable to provide my gas, my 80+-year-old parents wouldn't be suffering in the heat for over a week as I would have made alternative arrangements to refill my tank somewhere else. It's a shame you can't give negative stars on this review because they certainly don't deserve even one. I strongly suggest you deal with any other gas company instead of these clowns. Totally useless. We used them for 10 years and have seen a steady deterioration of service. Complained of a leak in their tank and the sent a driver to refill it after I had stressed that the tank leaked out when the valve was turned off. We requested they call before filling the tank after the refill guys couldn't find the 250 gallon tank and charged us for a service call anyway, twice. They still don't call. Terminated service, wonder how long it will take them to get the tank. read more

Truly awful service. They charge for "checking the system" without telling you they are going to charge and then send you multiple late notices but never bother to call you back when you call to contest the bill and ask why you have an additional inspection charge of $55. Their billing system is from the previous century, and the rude office staff acts like that is your problem. They forgot to fill the tank last month, and we ran out of gas while cooking dinner When I called to get gas they told me it would be TWO days from now. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE!!!!! Do not use this company if at all possible. They are completely unreliable and unprofessional! After a year of service we have been left with no gas 4 times, even though we are on a monthly schedule to have our tank filled. This is more than an inconvenience; not only is our range gas, but also our hot water heater and our dryer. In a household with two children this is unacceptable. Customer service is uncooperative and rude; management also rude and incompetent to say the least. Range of time we have been without gas has been from 24 hours to 3 days!!!!!! DO NOT USE THEM FOR YOUR GAS SERVICE. UPDATE!!!!! 11/14/2012: When I wrote previous review we had just cancelled our service with them over stated issues . They just showed up to fill our gas! Getting them to finally come and install the line was a mission even after giving 50% deposit. It took 8 weeks to get them to show up. So then they come to refill the tank, there is a gate and don't even bother to knock? Instead the Still send a bill with added tabs for services they didn't even do!! Really? Miami is full of poorly run businesses, but Home Gas sets new lows. The staff cannot inform you of a day or time for starting your service, as only the manager can do that, yet the manager won't talk on the phone or return phone calls, ever. They appear incapable of calling ahead of time to deliver gas, despite knowing that pool owners must keep their backyard gates closed and locked by law. No phone call means no access to the yard. They present you with a bill when they fail to deliver the gas - and the failure is their own fault because they cannot be bothered to call ahead no many how many times you inform them of the need. They cannot give you an estimated time to install a new appliance until the SAME DAY they will show up. Thus, you have to take an entire day off work to have anything installed. If I could give them ZERO stars, I would. read more

We have been with Home Gas for ten years. We have consistently received our statements in the mail late and been charged late fees. I have also tried to make automatic payment arrangements. They are very quick to send someone to your home to collect payment, but when it is providing service they are not available. About a month ago, I called because one our workmen smelled gas outside and then I smelled it in the house. They said that someone would respond immediately, I called twice more and they said they did not have a record of my call and would send someone immediately. no one showed up. We shut the gas off ourselves and unplugged the range. I called first thing in the morning and the lady said that no one had recorded my call and would send someone immediately - they showed six hours later. I called last week to ask them to please come hook up the gas line to my range and check it for gas leak. They said that Monday was the earliest they could come. We are renovating our house so I had to put workmen on hold until Monday when they would hook up the range and we would move it back in place so work in the house could continue. I called this morning to see what time they would arrive today and they put me on hold for twenty minutes and then came back and said that they had no record of my calling last week and that they did not have anyone to come, but that they could come tomorrow to fill up the tank. I asked for a manager and she said that there was nothing that could be done for me and that a manager would not help. I hung up and I am looking for another company now. Our safety and well being is critically important and when a company does not respond to this immediate safety need, then they must be fired. This is my first negative review of anyone so that tells you how disappointed and worried we are. read more

This company is one of the worst I have dealt with since living in Miami. Since I have been using them (I am renting a house that has one of their tanks) we have run out of gas multiple times and it has been nearly impossible to speak to someone at the company that is competent. I have been told that they cannot do emergency gas refills - what kind of gas company cannot do emergency refills?? They have terrible customer service and never call back when they say they will. The company is also stuck in the 1980s - with no online presence, no online billing - not even a fax machine! They tell me I have a balance due when I mailed a check weeks before - that is the problem with using snail mail to do business. I would not recommend this company to anyone. read more

I also had a bad experience. Home Gas installed my tanks for a newly constructed house. When I asked them a question on how gas is drawn from two tanks, they said they would send a technician to see whether they were working properly. He came out, filled the tanks. I was then charged for emergency filling, diagnostics. I called for clarification, was told the billing was wrong, and that I would be sent a new bill. I called twice thereafter for the new bill, then someone came to the door demanding payment for the gas only. I asked him about the other fees and he said that they were all cancelled, after calling to the offices for clarification. I then received a bill with interest and late payment charges. I wrote a letter and never heard from them since. read more

Home Gas Corporation has the best customer service I have seen in a very long time. The other day I was looking for a roofer's propane torch to install a roof. As I drove by Home Gas Corp, I could tell it was for home products and not construction equipment, but I figured I would drop in. After all, the place looked well-kept and inviting. When I got inside, I was impressed with the cleanliness of the place and their nice selection of barbecues and other home products. There was actually one that made me look twice. It was an elegant, pine green, ceramic, egg-shaped barbecue called the "Big Green Egg". The people there quickly took of me and asked how they could help. I asked them for the roofing torch, and to my great surprise, they told me they were going to help me find it. They spent a full hour on the internet finding the roofing torch I needed! When we decided upon one, they gave me a printout of the product with the location of the store at which I could buy it. That, my friends was not just good customer service, it was a heavy dose of old-fashion decency. I highly recommend the Home Gas Corporation. read more
