Well Spring has arrived at Home Goods. They have such a wonderful array of stock for your home and garden. I love that you can find unique items here that aren't replicated at other stores and at discounted pricing. Definitely a Disneyland for the shopper on a budget! I don't see staff working the floor usually but when it comes to checkout they are a well oiled machine. The staff is always friendly, personable and makes quick work of keeping the long lines moving. So many fun and pretty things to decorate with and a small gourmet packaged food section. The store is always decked out based on any holiday or special occasions. Plenty of home goods from furniture to decorative plants, bedding to bath decor, cutting boards to colander. You name it! We've purchased so many wonderful things from here. I can't believe I forgot to write a review until now, but I'm excited to finally share my thoughts! This store is fantastic for all sorts of decorations for holidays like Christmas and Halloween, as well as other events. Almost every display in our home comes from HomeGoods, and their quality and style are perfect for any occasion. Home Goods is my favorite and least favorite place to shop lol... They have so many fun, unique, and useful things all throughout the store, but the pricing is so incredibly inconsistent! Some stuff is such a steal that you can't NOT buy it (think Ross pricing) and then some stuff is just so insanely overpriced it's ridiculous! I love to come here for certain things - like kitchen ware and pet toys.. I also love to smell the candles.. I could smell the candles all day lol The shopping center is conveniently located next to several restaurants and a boba place, so you can really make a day of it.. My favorite time of year to come is around Halloween.. they have lots of fun, durable home decor with spooky vibes around halloween! read more

But my favorite items to purchase here are the unique Buddha's, crystals and even some cool unique items. Although I love their selection of items, the sales associate I dealt with was rude and not willing to help. She had NO name tag on her otherwise I would put her name on blast. I asked her if she could check a price for me and she told me to go to the Front register, they could check it there!!! I told her I didn't want to leave it at the front if I didn't want it and she said, "that's what you do"!!! Wow, Unbelievable!!!! As she was stocking items, she was making lots of noise! I managed to hide the existence of this store from my wife. She never knew they existed the whole time they've been open in Bakersfield. Thanks to our friends, she now knows. Last week, I took her to Home Goods for the first time. She did not find what she needed, but she did score some other finds at affordable prices. As the name implies, there is so much merchandise for the home. She enjoyed the time we spent browsing the aisles. I thought it was A-Ok. Wasn't crazy about many of the aisles being so narrow. Had to literally back out of aisles because there was not enough room for two carts to make it past each other. It is a crowded and popular store. Whether I like it or not, we will be making future visits to Home Goods. At least the pricing is reasonable. read more

Ok see no one ever told me this place was this amazing. Right as you walk in the store is packed with great items for your entire home. I couldn't stop smiling and picking up stuff. This is the best place to find all these nostalgic treasures. Everything made me smile, I felt like I was doing a commercial with all my ahhhhh and ohhhh. Best part was the kids area and mirrors. The board games took me back to my childhood it was amazing. I can't wait to come back, every one should come here, I'm not sure if you can window shop because I tried and failed. Good luck. There were no carts available I was told the homeless are stealing them. Possible solution, purchase smaller carts and don't allow the carts to leave the store. I have been coming a few times since November with my husband or my mom. It was about time I wrote a review. They have plenty of staff working on stocking shelves and helping customers. They helped me look for a pumpkin pot, which was so nice of them. We purchased Skinnymixes syrups for our coffee, new bath mats, accessories for the bath, spoon rests, pot trivets, just to name a few items. I returned to purchase more syrups for my coffee a few weeks later, and they had new flavors. Also, they had plenty of organizational items that I needed for my kitchen. My mom and I purchased plate shelves that are stackable and spice racks in a oil rubbed finish. Also, they had so many cute tapa plates that were microwaveable, so I had to purchase a pack of four. We use them every day. I also found a birthday gift for my brother, a Guinness mug. They had quite a few gift packs available as well. My mom purchased all white plates from Portugal that were very lightweight. Overall, the staff is very helpful and professional. I saw a staff member looking for specific placemats for a customer. They also are wearing masks and have had a line outside at some points to reduce the amount of customers inside. read more

I came to Home Goods on a quest to find striped towels; I didn't find them, but I did spent a very happy half hour exploring. There is a large selection full of dinnerware and stemware that would be beautiful for hosting dinners or throwing intimate get togethers. There were several aisles of pots and pans and cooking utensils that would almost make being barefoot in the kitchen an attractive option. There was an entire aisle full of gourmet food items to get you started with cooking projects. I was pretty excited about the unique teas (Cinnamon Melon and Cardamom) that I picked up in beautiful tins. There was an entire section of bath items and linens, and even a couple of aisles of doggie beds and other pet related items. There was a large selection of wall decor items and two sections with wall mounted mirrors, one in front and one in back. One whole wall is full of furniture and rugs. The lighting section was pretty awesome with some very unique lamps. There were decorative pillows and many art objects to display on bookshelves or other flat surfaces. I was like a kid locked in a candy store roaming here and there, but we were on a mission and needed to get moving. This store is listed on Yelp under the category "discount stores." This puzzles me, as nothing here seemed particularly cheap, nor did I notice any sale signs. To exit, one must successfully navigate the knick knack labyrinth. Sprinkled liberally throughout the course are the best impulse buy items they could entice you with. Who can ignore their sirens' call? Reed diffusers in the scents of pumpkin or gardenia? Gift bags or wrapping paper for those purchases that are gifts? coffee mugs? Bath mats? Okay, this one stumped me; are bath mats really impulse items? I'm going to glance at them and suddenly remember that I slip and fall every time I take a shower? Evian and baked hummus chips? I made it past all of these items only to beach myself on the rocky shoals of the blueberry pomegranate liquorice (yes, they really spelled it that way) placed up near the cash registers. Well, I almost escaped, not that this would be a bad place to be marooned. read more

Home Goods gets a 3.5 stars in my books. I really like this store, my husband argued and said this store reminded him of Ross. I really like this store, not only for the simple fact that they try their best to keep on top of being organized, but the fact that they have pretty much have everything you need in this store. I found some things that were much pricier at target for a lower price and just as good quality here. This store doesnt get backed up with crazy lines and there's no pushing or shoving going on in the aisles; which sometimes does happen at Ross haha. WOW... I am pretty addicted to this place. A friend introduced me recently and I have been in there 4 times this week - smaller purchases and carefully chosen items but still - 4 times this week! It is easy when you have a new house to want to shop for and when you know that you are getting some pretty amazing deals. There are at least 4 - 5 clearance aisles, my fave. You have to watch as some of those items have to have been returns I would think and some of the items are missing parts or are slightly broken/chipped but if you can still use it or fix it yourself, you may be looking at 80% off in savings. The stuff is piled on top of each other in the clear out aisles but to some like me, it makes hunting for that perfect piece even more fun. I find the styles are pretty current and there are a lot of cool/useful kitchen gadgets. Beautiful towels. PET stuff galore, and good stuff, not the cheap junk. Wonderful olive oil, grape seed oil. THE place to buy a gift for that hard to buy person. The theme gearing up for summer is BEACH and encompasses stunning blue colors and wood styles. Most cashiers are pretty friendly. Lots of parking but this plaza gets darn busy as it shares the space with so many other places. A 5 in my book. I hope I can stay out of there for a few days... but my new house is looking better all the time, bit by bit! read more

This place is addicting!!! Being fairly new homeowners, decorating our house to make it a home is necessary and this place makes it more affordable to do so. The staff here is okay and on weekends the line can get long to check out. If you have the time this is a place where new things are always showing up so monthly visits are common for me. My one huge complaint is the gift card situation. I hate that there is no way to check the balance except in store and waiting in line twice sucks. I've spent so much time and money here and I'm not ashamed of it! ;) They have just about everything you want for a home here from rugs, pots and pans, organization stuff, chairs (oh, the decorative chairs!!!), frames/prints, lamps, pillows, mirrors, and everything in between!! I can't get enough of this place. I hear they stock multiple times a week so weekly trips are basically mandatory, especially if you're a new homeowner! They also use the tables at the front of the store and cover each in a theme or one color and there's a whole room done for you! Well, almost lol. You can also barter a little bit on the furniture if you see something wrong with it. It's not much but something is something and it never hurts to try! It is SO sad because I absolutely LOVE this store and what they have to offer. The only downfall is the unethical, rude, unprofessional, disgusting, and horrid woman in management. Fil Evans has treated my family with disrespect on 2 separate occasions. I am very easy to please, but she yelled at me as if I was a child she was ready to punish. Unreal. The first was when we bought a $400 accent chair, and as their employee was taking it out to our truck, it fell off onto the road and scratched the bottom up badly. She took 20 minutes to come out and talk to us because she was on her break, and told us we got the chair at a great price and refused to offer a discount. The second was when we purchased another expensive accent chair that had a crooked leg. It was marked down to begin with and Fil was not there the day we paid for it. The manager on duty that day told us that it was not marked down due to damage, and that they would fix the leg for us overnight. If it was not fixed, they would offer a discount. When my husband went to pick it it up, it had not been fixed and again, Fil took her time and made him stand there for 15 minutes before telling us that she didn't make any promises so "take it or leave it". I was on the phone and told her what her manager had said and she put the phone in my husbands hand and left. I can't even believe that Home Goods would allow someone so unethical and Rude to manage their store. I love this store, but my wallet hates it. If you're looking for any kind of item for your home this is definitely the place to come! They have a fantastic lighting department. Their variety of lamps amazes me every time I'm there. They also have a great selection of wall art, rugs, accent furniture, bath accessories, and basic kitchenware.
