I have seen other maps that are encased in glass. Now looking back I wonder why they didn't offer that option to me as an upgrade. I would have totally jumped on it as the delicate map wouldn't collect dust like it does now. They had a tahoe girl sweater that caught my eye this time. I loved the softness of it and the white color. What was a turn off was the length it was just too short. In the winter I don't want my tummy hanging out. I want to keep it nice and warm with the rest of me. They also have a nice selection of soaps that always catch my eye. I love homemade soaps and these look locally made. One day I'll cough of the money for a bar or two. I was going to get one for my gf as a gift, but I don't know if she loves soaps as much as i do or if she just goes for the soft soap on a bottle. I'll have to ask her then next time I see her. Last time I bought a paper pop up flower display for my gf's retirement gift. It was so fun as it was beautiful and never dies. I hope she liked it as much as I did. One thing that caught my eye last time I was there was a fleece blanket with a map of South Lake Tahoe on it. It was soft on the map side and fleece on the back side. It looked so cozy warm. I would have totally gotten it if not a month before I had gotten one from Alaska that had a map of Alaska on it. Think of it as an art gallery mixed with a modern gift shop, filled with thoughtfully curated home décor, unique keepsakes, and Tahoe-inspired finds. We were welcomed as we walked in, which was a nice touch considering how busy the store was. The candles are always my favorite, and I make it a point to check out their beautiful wood-carved Lake Tahoe maps and canvas artwork every year. They have a great selection of pieces that can add a little Tahoe charm and sophistication to your home. Everything feels intentionally selected, and despite fitting so much into the space, the store never feels cluttered or overwhelming. One of my favorite surprises this visit was their expanded hat selection. They had trendy designs, Smokey Bear hats, and national park-inspired apparel that stood out from the typical souvenir shop offerings. It felt like they had something for just about everyone while still staying true to the Tahoe vibe. I'll definitely be back for another candle, sticker, or hat. And one of these days, when the budget and wall space allow, I may finally bring home one of those wood-carved maps. When I walked inside I was drawn to the charming little gifts. They have some cute jewelry, home décor, apparel and hand crafted souvenirs. I saw a section of Native American jewelry with different pretty color stones. Of course, the first thing I look for are stickers and I did find them in both small and big sizes. Looking around some more I found a few handmade soaps made locally in Genoa and a shelf filled with classic soaps made in France. The store felt even more stocked this year, with a larger women's clothing selection, beautiful home décor, posters, crystals, jewelry, incense, essential oils, dreamcatchers, tote bags, and so many unique gifts. If you like eclectic or spiritual-inspired décor, you'll have a hard time leaving empty-handed. One thing I really appreciate is the layout. Unlike some shops around Heavenly Village that can feel crowded, this store has plenty of inventory without making you feel cramped. The staff was welcoming, and the fresh scent throughout the store made it an enjoyable place to browse. Cat lovers will also appreciate the fun selection of cat-themed décor and artwork. It does have unique wares so you have to appreciate that. If you are coming just for this store I don't know where you'd park as there is no street parking or lots that I know of. Maybe park in one of the casinos and walk over. I see parking as an issue in this part of town. For me it's become a walking area for me. We stay at one of the local lodging places when we come to South Lake Tahoe and we park once and walk everywhere. Thus we have no issues shopping at the Heavenly village.

After back-and-forth by email, she reluctantly resolved the matter after a fair amount of persistence, but it didn't need to take the amount of time and effort that it did. A conversation goes a long way. I also felt it was legally reckless for the owner to publicly comment online a disparaging comment about our ability to pay our bill. Apparently, logical feedback about her ambiguous grace period and how bank transfers work is "telling her how to run her company."

The selections here are slanted more towards "girly" selections, which means that Gayle found a few nice gifts and my discoveries were more towards what she might like as future present. There were many options in that department. They had some very nice Christmas items on sale towards the back, but to my surprise, Gayle didn't bite. She told me later that she was tempted, but felt overwhelmed at home with all the Holiday items we already owned. Depending on post-holiday timing of putting everything away (including some thinning of our stuff), I might circle back.

I called back that day after confirming some measurements and she took my order over the phone and processed the payment on my credit card. Approximately 1 week later I called asking for an estimated shipping date. I was then told the order had not yet been placed with the furniture manufacturing company and they would be unable to do so until the owner got back from vacation, they were not sure when that would be. I asked if I could cancel my order and get a refund and they apologized and said they would reach out to the owner. The following day I received a short e-mail stating my order was placed and shipping information would be sent ASAP (I never received shipping information). Two days ago I received a text message that the chairs were ready to be picked up, I responded I would be by after I got off work to pick them up and got no reply back. I went by the store first thing on Saturday and waited in front of the business 45min past the posted opening hours of 10am, no one showed up. There was no sign regarding closures or inability to open and, of course, no answer on the telephone. I placed my order 28 days ago and I very much regret it. Too expensive for this poor of customer service. I have no comment on the quality of furniture because I have not seen the chairs.

I ended up buying the couch they said was very well made. Turns out the couch is arguably one of the cheapest and poorly made pieces of furniture I ever paid $800 for (which was on sale, by the way). When it was delivered the fabric on the bottom was torn (Red flag #2). I didn't worry too much about it because I probably would never see the tear. We've had it for a few months and it looks like we've had it for 20 years. Back cushions are all lumpy and misshapen, it's a lint magnet, the seat cushions constantly migrate forward, it has zero support, and is very uncomfortable. BUYER BEWARE!! I won't be buying furniture from them again.
