Nothing but a discriminatory place of business! You can also see it's nothing special! With junk sitting outside!
    Rick R.

The owner is extremely rude I have a service dog not a therapy dog a service dog for medical problems. Legally he is allowed to be everywhere including restaurants, my job, any given store etc and he threw my dog and I out. And I explained to the owner that that's discrimination and it's also violating my rights. The law is very clear about service animals in the state in Nevada. The sad thing is is that I was going to drop a couple hundred dollars here because I was doing Christmas shopping for someone and so they just lost my business and now I will spend that money at a different thrift store. Don't shop here and don't buy anything here you can't go treating customers that way. It says service vest on my animal he's a service dog. Zelda's is a very discriminatory thrift store and as far as what I could tell looking at prices everything was overpriced to begin with I mean come on it's used items which they probably get for free anyways through donations and private parties. Everybody in Carson City knows my dog every grocery store I go my job that I do for a living even all the other thrift stores and this clown yells at me in front of all his customers and tells me to get out of his store. Thanks but no thanks I will make sure I tell my friends not to go here so the owner is going to lose a lot of business. My money is good anywhere else so when you kick me out of the store it means that I'm not spending my money on your store and then these little thrift stores that are 10 ft wide wonder why they end up going out of business this is the reason right here! At least Scoobys would have never treated anybody that way but see Scoobys went out of business and this clown took over. I hope the owner realizes that you just broke the law and I'll see you in court I'm suing you here's the law below you better brush up on it! No, it is illegal to discriminate against a person with a service dog in public places, housing, employment, and transportation, as the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) protects the rights of individuals with disabilities to be accompanied by their service animals. A business can only deny entry or ask for the animal to be removed under specific, limited circumstances, such as when the dog is out of control or not housebroken. What is considered discrimination? Denial of access: Being denied entry to a public place (like a restaurant, store, or hotel) because you have a service dog is considered discrimination, even if the establishment has a "no pets" policy. Unequal treatment: You cannot be isolated from other customers, treated less favorably, or charged extra fees for having a service animal. Discriminatory policies: Businesses and public entities must allow service animals in areas where the public is generally allowed, and their presence does not "fundamentally alter the nature of the goods, services, programs, or activities". Employment discrimination: Employers cannot deny a person the opportunity to work because they use a service animal.

Upon entering I was greeted by the owners, and had great help finding what I was looking for, by Christina Smith. It's a quaint sweet store with lots more to offer than one would think. I would say no need for handicap access but it's a tight fit inside. These are community anchored people. I found huge amount of yarn, leather coats and clothing of all kinds, they have anything a good thrift store would have. I came in looking for 1 thing but went out with a lot!

As I've taken my guilty pleasure of thrifting rather than buying new, I stumbled across one of the…read moretop independent thrift stores to serve the capital city of Nevada. Located on the right hand side of eastbound Highway 50 and about a mile east of Highway 580 in Carson City, "Classy Seconds Thrift Shop" has been one of the main go-to thrift stores dating back to the late-1990's. Since I do not live in this area, this was my first opportunity as I got to check this place out which was during the afternoon on Friday 6/19/2026 at around 2:45pm. The location itself is not hard to miss as the building is very visible from the main highway. To actually get into the dedicated parking lot involves having to turn right on Brown St. and make another right on Gordon St. where the main entrance is. Since this is a fairly sizable and open space area, parking should never be an issue, no matter what day or time you come. The building itself is a clay grey shade complete with avocado green lettering. And for those wondering, they are open 7 days a week; Monday-Saturday from 10am-6pm and Sunday from 10am-5pm. Once inside, you will see how spacious the layout is with approximately 10,000 square feet of floor space and ample room to walk with a shopping cart. As for the variety of items that are offered, this place carries everything from mens/womens/kids clothing, shoes, houseware items, books, CDs/DVDs, furniture, small appliances, seasonal items, knick/knacks, and accessories. The one real advantage is that the prices here are quite competitive and even lower than the bigger major chain thrift stores such as Goodwill and Salvation Army. During my visit, I ended up buying a few summer polo shirts while my lady bought some mason jars and a small office organizer for her cubicle at work. Best of all, the money donated to this business helps support advocates to end domestic violence and services for survivors of family violence and victims of sexual assault. This goes hand-in-hand since the "Sexual Assault Response Advocates" (SARA) building is directly next door to Classy Seconds. With above average customer service, a decent selection of items, and very affordable prices, I am giving "Classy Seconds Thrift Shop" an above average four-star rating.

This lady came in and bought 20 pairs of Nikes and air Jordans for $60 because her friends worked there and marked them all down and nobody else even got to look at them.. we told the front desk and we were informed that upper management knows and this happens daily. I messaged their Facebook page and they don't care.. would not recommend this place at all

Since early 2020, Linda has been inviting me into the back of the store to buy items before they are made available to the public. I have an eBay store, and she would have me "volunteer" some weeks--up to four days a week for several hours at a time. She asked me to wear a badge and not speak to anyone. During this time, I would separate the shoes I wanted to purchase in the back and then take the remaining pairs out to the sales floor. Over time, this evolved into me doing hours of work in exchange for being allowed to select inventory first. The owner of Affordable Home Furnishings, Guyla, and Linda have been doing this for many years. When Jeanette was the manager, this would occur on days when Jeanette was not present, particularly with furniture. Linda has also accepted gifts exceeding the allowed $100 monetary limit. She has given me pink-tag items as gifts, including one jacket priced at over $100. Recently, after previously giving me discounted prices, Linda questioned why I was bringing up price differences. When I mentioned the times she had gifted or discounted items for me, she claimed she did not recall those instances. She has now told me that I am no longer allowed to return to the store. When I asked why, Linda stated, "That's what the courts said," but refused to elaborate. For example, I recently purchased a pair of shoes that were missing shoelaces. I mentioned that shoelaces cost about $4, and she gave me a discount. She even said she enjoys negotiating with me. However, about a week later, when I questioned a price difference on T-shirts while checking out with another associate, she became enraged. She told me that I am no longer allowed to purchase items like shirts for $1.99, even though I had done so in the past, and that she personally considers those shirts to be worth $5. I asked her what I should do as a customer if one associate rings up an item at one price, but another believes it should be higher. I also asked whether, if I were purchasing a dry-fit polyester Nike T-shirt with a standard logo, I should request to be charged $5 instead. She did not have an answer. I asked the associate at the register, after she left, what I was supposed to do in that situation, and he responded that he did not know. I have concrete photo and video evidence of these events.

At first we thought it was closed because all of the lights were off. But the main door was unlocked and we entered. There was 3 people sitting at the table in the middle of the store - they stared us down but didn't say a word. We wondered the entire store which was primarily books, movies/dvds/VHS & furniture, with a few odds and ends. I think my definition of "gift store" is different than theirs because I didn't see much that I would categorize in that department. The odor in this store was the usual thrift store aroma, with a splash of...something very unpleasant. We saw what looked like a music venue in the back with a few guys talking really loudly from that area. After wondering the store, we started to work our way to the front when one of the gentleman practically ran to follow us out. When we looked back at him, he pulled out his key and dangled it indicating he was locking the door behind us, still not saying a single word to us. Out of probably 5 people in that store, not a single one said anything to us. If they were closed, they should have locked the door behind them - it was Saturday late morning.... I would label this more as a used book/music/movie store. I definitely won't waste my time here again. Such a weird experience!
