BEWARE COMPANY INSPECTIONS DO NOT ENSURE SAFETY AND CODE REQUIREMENTS: My potential home was inspected prior to purchasing. The inspector with Home Inspection Pros notated minor issues. Fast Forward 9 months, we placed the home on the market for sale, the potential buyer's inspection report revealed historical safety issues including the deck not being attached to the home and historical plumbing issues that did not occur in 9 months. The home was advised to have severe safety issues that should have been included in my inspection report. The contract was terminated due to these issues. Another offer was placed and the inspector noted similar safety issues. Marlon Page met with me considering it had been less than a year since the inspection and the major safety concerns. He acknowledge the errors and advised they would repair them. After over 3 weeks of him leading me on that they would repair with no action and fear of the 2nd contract terminating, I was left without repairs with a home with major safety issues acknowledged by 3 different inspectors including Marlon. The reviews are typically based on first-time inspections, however few have follow-up inspections to ensure the reports are accurate. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! read more

This company was referred to me by my realtor & I am a first time home buyer. Marlon reached out to me in less than 24 hours after receiving my contract information ( which I appreciated). The conversation went well with him giving me background information about his business. He answered all my questions and remained professional for the duration of the conversation. I informed him that I wanted to be present for my inspection and that I was not available until about 6pm the following day. He informed me that the inspection would take approximately 2.5 - 3 hrs. I asked him if the time frame would still be the same for a townhome and he assured me that it would be since I was purchasing an end unit. I asked him several times for a confirmation of an appointment time over the phone. He stated that he would need to follow up with a confirmed time but not to worry as their inspector would still be at the home finishing up by the time I arrived. Within an hour, I received my appointment confirmation email which showed a time of 2:30 pm for the following day. My initial thought was that this scheduled time is not consistent with the time frame he provided. I did try calling back but their number immediately goes to an answering service. I decide to give him the benefit of a doubt and assumed he is a businessman of his word. The next day, my realtor follows up and I address my concerns to her about the scheduled time. She agrees with the inconsistency and stated she will reach out to Marlon herself for clarification. She later informs me that she could only get through to his answering service as well and sent him a message. 2:30 rolls around and I still have not heard back from the company. Around 4:15, I send my boyfriend over to the property to get an update. Once he arrives, he tells me that the inspector (John, who was awesome!) Had just finished & was heading out to his next appointment. I immediately request to speak with John who was unaware that I was expecting someone to be at the property at 6 to discuss report. He apologized for the miscommunication & offered to meet me around 7pm at a neutral location. This was unacceptable for me b/c for someone who knows nothing about home repairs, him explaining a report would not benefit me without seeing the damage for myself. He did state he would be willing to reschedule a day to go back to the property to point out the issues that needed to be addressed. I was okay with that & we ended the conversation with him giving my bf back the phone & providing his contact# so I can follow up with him to reschedule. In his defense the home owners were at the property the entire time he was inspecting so I could understand why he was suggesting a neutral location so they didn't hear him discussing his findings. I called the company back & surprisingly a nice lady answered. I explained my issue and she got me connected with Marlon. I recapped with him and the guy basically talked over me, insinuated that I lied about his guy leaving before 6 & that he had another appointment afterwards. He proceeded to say that he was going to talk to me like I was his child. My response: "Umm, no. You're going to talk to me like an adult b/c that is what I am" . Not only am I an adult, but also a paying customer. I paid the guy the day before they showed up for the inspection (paid w/ no complaints on price). After I checked him about his comment, he tells me he was just joking. Sir, don't play with me. In summary, Marlon was rude and unprofessional after he was called out about how he scheduled the appointment. He scheduled based off what was best for his company vs giving his client what I asked for. He should have just took accountability. I'm giving 2 stars because John the inspector is the real MVP. We did meet back at the property the same night and here went through major of the issues before the owners kicked out. Apparently, they were soo tired from being home ALL day watching the inspector that they couldn't spare additional time for him to point out all the issues to me, the person under contract to purchase their home. I would not use this company. He inspected the home that we are selling and if you look at his report, you'd think that the house was falling apart. Some of his comments are absurd: 1) Missing window screens - if he checked the whole house, he would have found those screens in the basement. 2) Dirty furnace filters - really? 3) Tree limbs touching house - wow that's bad!!! Those are just a few of the many examples. But he also used scare tactics with some of his wording. 1) Furnace is inoperative at time of inspection - Did you try to run the furnace, Marlon? I doubt it because it was just serviced 2 weeks ago and given a clean bill of health. 2) Inoperative light fixture - did you replace the bulb and try it? Basically, his report was so horrific that we felt compelled to make concessions. I don't believe this guy is fair or ethical. read more

5/22 update: As you can see, it's been roughly a month since my initial review. That's an entire month I gave Marlon to schedule time to come by my home - his idea, by the way. I was more than willing to send him photos and video showing that the gas pipe he claimed (read: lied) had been repaired was actually still in the crawlspace wreaking havoc. After repeated attempts, I finally gave up once it became clear he's been yanking me around, wasting my time. He already has my hard-earned money - what good does it do him to care? He'll find another sucker, or he'll have one referred to him by my former agent. Any business owner with even a shred of integrity would put forth some actual effort at following up and following through on their own work, ESPECIALLY if there's a chance they themselves screwed up. At $450+ a pop you'd think there'd be some kind of guarantee on his work. I suppose a guarantee would only come from an honest, reliable business owner who stands by their work rather than one who avoids customer complaints like some shrinking coward. read more

NIGHTMARE experience. Within 24-48 hours of moving into our new home, we began experiencing problems that we believe should have been caught with the inspection. We ended up paying thousands of dollars to remedy rodent activity in the attic, plumbing issues, leak in main gas line, uncapped gas, broken furnace fan (that caused the air conditioner to fail), and several other items. I contacted Home Inspection Pro's. and was informed that the owner would need to visit the property to verify a deficient inspection. While visiting our home, the owner was shown evidence of the rodent activity but he declined to review or discuss any other items. My impression of the experience was that he was hostile and defensive, spent significant time talking about his company but did not appear interested or empathetic in hearing about the items missed, and emotionally elevated the conversation to an unprofessional level. I was offered a $500 partial refund of just the inspection fees (wouldn't refund fees for radon test) with the stipulation that we sign an agreement releasing them from liability and agreeing not to issue negative information to any party via phone email or any media. I have never been told that in order to receive a refund that I would have to sign something like this. I wonder how many people haven't reported their bad experience because they accepted that offer? A company shouldn't have to make clients agree not to post a bad review in order to get a refund. read more
