The inspection was okay. The inspector was professional and gave a lot of helpful feedback on issues and concerns. My biggest issue is that the inspector told me the home had been treated for termites, when in fact it had not been, which is why i opted to not get a termite inspection. I called Orkin to start monthly service and during their inspection, guess what was found outside of my home? I mentioned that the inspector told me the home had been treated because of some holes that were drilled and he told me that was old. I realize NPI doesn't do termite inspections however I would've scheduled one if I hadn't been falsely told it was already treated for them. read more

I have used them for our property inspection before buying. They spotted minor issues but left bigger issues not reported. NPI did not report about water leakage, drainage flaws , appliances life time etc.. worst thing is the rain water drainage outlet was fake and inspector couldn't find. Pls find better options or atleast ask the right questions . read more

I used National Property Inspections prior to purchasing my new home and relied on their expertise to close. My home inspector was Eric. His report was very detailed and helpful. However a crucial part of it was missing. Nowhere in his report was it noted that the upper floor (where the bedrooms are located) had no return vents. Lack of these return vents meant increased energy consumption, high energy bills, inefficient air circulation, and uneven temperatures. Also, it would cost $1300 plus tax to add return vents to the upstairs system. To rectify the situation, I reached out to Eric, who did the inspection, and explained the situation. He sent me an email that guided me on how to file a claim. I did so and was denied. After being denied, I called National Property Inspection and asked to speak to a supervisor, to discuss the matter. I didn't get one at the office, but I did get a call back (within 10 minutes) from the 'supervisor'. It was Eric, the same guy who did the inspection and instructed me on how to file a claim. I repeated the issue to Eric again and told him that he failed to put in his inspection report that return vents were absent in the upstairs of my home. And that that should have been something conveyed in his findings. Eric got defensive and cut me off during my explanation. He argued that it wasn't required of him. He refused to listen to the fact that this piece of information was important to me, especially before closing on the property. Now, I am left holding the bill. I tried to explain to him that his findings are suppose to protect me from costly undertakings down the road. But he didn't acknowledge that statement. He just said that if I wanted to go "above and beyond" that was on me, but it was not required of him. When he was done talking, I asked him if I could talk now. Eric blatantly told me that he did not want to hear what I had to say. I responded and told him that his remark was unprofessional . He got mad and told me I was being rude to him. I tried to reason with Eric but it was futile. He barely gave me a chance to speak and he ended the conversation by hanging up on me. In short, I was very disappointed with the service received when I had an issue. Eric was not willing to work with me. He did not want to be held responsible for something he "missed" and/or did not put in his report. He lacked professionalism and had poor customer service. He didn't value my concerns. read more

Our house hunting experience was a little longer than anticipated, so we have had three home inspections in the last six months. Our inspector Joe was outstanding each time. I got an inexperienced young guy, and I had to explain a few things about the electrical and mechanical systems, how they work, and where to find the components. He told me that the AC system in this home doesn't use a condenser unit, so I had to find the condensers for him and ask him to inspect. The company owner was apparently apologetic to my real estate agent and reviewed the report himself, revising a few things. If you use this company, just make sure you get an experienced inspector or the owner himself. read more

Yesterday our new home was inspected by Mr. Tiny Jones and what a joy it was to have him I got to the property 5 mins before my appointment time and Tiny was already there just looking at the outside of the home (we couldn't go in until our appointment time). Even before we went into the house, Tiny was showing me what certain cracks could indicate what was functional and what could potentially be a problem. His kindness and professionalism are so appreciated. From the time we entered the home to the time we left, Tiny was showing us these small, detailed, areas in which our home could be improved and taking the time to even show us how to change air filters in systems that were foreign to us, the different zoning systems of our HVAC, and so much more. As a first time homebuyer I had so much peace knowing that while Tiny could not find everything (its a visual inspection) that he found everything he could, took the time to call it out, and show us how to make the systems in our home function in the most efficient way possible.
