The staff was very proactive in finding the right caregiver to meet our needs and we were very pleased to have been assigned a caregiver who was compassionate, kind, and did a wonderful job managing my husband's changing needs over the past 18 months. The scheduling staff was very thorough and responsive to emails and calls. Home visits were scheduled periodically to check in on the dynamics between my husband and our caregiver. We recently terminated services only because my husband has progressed to the point that he no longer requires a daytime caregiver, but Assisting Hands was there for us in a time of great need and we were most appreciative for the great service!

When I quit my job as a Medical Assistant I wasn't really certain what I wanted to do. When I saw an ad in the Journal Times for Home Instead Senior Care it struck a chord with me. I went on the Home Instead website to learn more about it. It seemed like a job that I could be happy doing. Caring for seniors in their homes is definitely different from anything I've done before, but I truly enjoy it. I know that every day I'm with them I make a difference in their lives. I treat them like I would treat a family member: with patience, kindness, and dignity. The most rewarding part of care giving is when they say, "Thank you for all that you've done today". And I can honestly tell them, "It's my pleasure." I feel that my service is valued both by the Home Instead office staff and by the clients themselves. I finally had to drop them and find other services. They will promise you the world, but can not deliver. People in office are very nice...but hands are tied. One person they sent had one job, stay by my wife's side so she did not take off bandage...could not handle that, left room to take a break, luckily nursing home staff stopped that my wife had removed bandages and ambulance had to be called. I have more...but you get the idea.
