My husband was very appreciative to the staff. He never experienced any problems with staff. Nursing staff and aids were great. Physical and occupational therapists spent a lot of time with him encouraging him and they were very patient and pleased with his progress. The facility was always clean. My husband could be difficult sometimes and with the encouragement he became more confident and willing to work hard. Thank you to all of the staff. They were so pleasant and supportive to not only my husband but to me as well. Now mind you my husband had spent time at two other facilities and I can honestly say one of them I had to have him moved out of it. It was filthy and the staff just left him laying in his bed everyday. Avalon encouraged him and I cannot thank all of the staff. I never had any problems with anyone nor anything. Now the food was ok, not too bad but could improve a little bit. If my husband ever had to go to another sniff it will definitely be Avalon. When I returned, I have used their services one day a week while taking care of errands and appointments. I have also used them for an occasional night out, and for 3-4 day respite periods. I never worry when they are on the job. The care giver that comes to my home is so reliable, capable and responsible. She takes care of changing the bed, fixing meals, laundry, house cleaning, even walking the dog. If there is ever a problem, that worker has the rest of the Angels of America team she can call upon. Not only do they do a wonderful job taking care of me, my mother, and Charlie the dog, they also are like extended family. They were part of the celebration of my mother's 102nd birthday, they were ready to help when my brother died, and every member of the team takes an interest in how my mother is doing. We started service about 6 mos ago with a 3 times visit per week 4 hrs a visit. Mom currently need someone around the clock with her, and Synergy is always there along the way to help her maintain a good quality of life where she wants to be, her home. My only complaint was not knowing in advance (like when I signed up) that the clinical days were 2-10pm (**I was on the evening schedule, this won't be true if you take the morning or weekend course, but you might have different hours all the same for clinicals).
