We entered into a contract with HomeCare Assistance on November 7, 2025. My 80-year-old mother is…read moreterminally ill and my 81-year-old father and my family needed some assistance. We felt good about Tommy Anderson during his home visit and signed a contract to begin care on Monday, November 10, 2025. During our home visit with Tommy, it was emphasized several times about their extensive background checks of their caregivers and the contract even went further to say that they evaluated caregivers in other ways, such as psychological testing. The very first night, a caregiver came into our home, whom we liked immediately, but we discovered that she stole four diamond rings from my mother and my father's University of Alabama A club ring. We filed a police report and after 48 hours of me pleading and appealing to this caregiver, she returned the rings to me at my home. When we discovered that the rings were missing, we immediately did a simple Google search and found two mug shots of this caregiver and the police told us she had ten or more prior arrests, and that this company had dropped the ball. She had arrests as far back as 2021 until recent. I was told by Tommy and another employee that they did not understand why those did not show up on their background check. What an insult to my intelligence. Please beware of Home Care Assistance, because they obviously did not vet this employee at all.

My Sister had back surgery and needed an xray. Jessica scheduled a portable home xray to be done and it was so helpful. Otherwise we would had to endure the emergency room. CenterWell was consulted to do wound care and physical therapy (balance training) with my…read more91-year-old father. They did wound care for two days and then left him hanging Saturday, Sunday and Monday without wound care. There has been no PT done what so ever to work on his balance. There was a lack of communication after the first day regarding my father's care - and they knew they were supposed to communicate with me regarding everything. While they neglected his PT needs and wound care needs yesterday, it seems they did send out a social worker to see if he needed food, transportation, etc, when they already KNEW those needs were being met by family members. I have to agree with my dad - they were merely "running up the bill" yesterday with the social worker visit.

From the first phone call to inquire about home health care after mom had a fall, to the initial visits everyone has been very nice and welcoming. The occupational therapist (Clay), did amazing with mom, upon releasing her he showed us videos to allow her to continue her exercises on her own. This was the first time mom had received occupational therapy. The Physical Therapist (Chris) is by far the best PT mom has had over the years. The nurse (Rose & Amanda) have both been great from the first visit with Amanda to the weekly visits by Rose have been great. Each team member has made mom feel cared about and they want to hear how she feels and her stories. I highly recommend the team at Spectrum Health Care Agency! Lynn
