He went in for a day surgery and ended up with a hematoma , then developed a pressure wound on his heel that caused Osteomyletis and ended with a below the knee amputation. We need to have reliable care in order for my daughter to take me to my Dr. appointments and just have some relief for the 24 hour care he was needing. Unfortunately, the talk was was great but the follow through was not existent. We had one care giver come out for a visit, who was personable but not a good fit with my husband. Our second try never showed although we has a confirmation email from the office. We never received a call about the no show and when we called the office and asked to have Jeremy call, we never heard from anyone. Needless to say we needed reliability from this service and received none.

I live 430 miles away from my mother, and I needed help that was going to answer messages promptly. Visiting Angels was terrific at that. As it turned out, but the time we scheduled the aide, mom was feeling much stronger and did not want the service. Dean Longo at the Norfolk office was unbelievably understanding and just phenomenal to work with. Compassionate and professional. I have Visiting Angels in my back pocket and will call them again at the drop of a hat.

We entered into a contract with HomeCare Assistance on November 7, 2025. My 80-year-old mother is…read moreterminally ill and my 81-year-old father and my family needed some assistance. We felt good about Tommy Anderson during his home visit and signed a contract to begin care on Monday, November 10, 2025. During our home visit with Tommy, it was emphasized several times about their extensive background checks of their caregivers and the contract even went further to say that they evaluated caregivers in other ways, such as psychological testing. The very first night, a caregiver came into our home, whom we liked immediately, but we discovered that she stole four diamond rings from my mother and my father's University of Alabama A club ring. We filed a police report and after 48 hours of me pleading and appealing to this caregiver, she returned the rings to me at my home. When we discovered that the rings were missing, we immediately did a simple Google search and found two mug shots of this caregiver and the police told us she had ten or more prior arrests, and that this company had dropped the ball. She had arrests as far back as 2021 until recent. I was told by Tommy and another employee that they did not understand why those did not show up on their background check. What an insult to my intelligence. Please beware of Home Care Assistance, because they obviously did not vet this employee at all.
