Home Kitchen just rocks, completely and with such ease. So glad they are open again, we missed being inside so bad! It's a sweet place inside and when the roof deck opens, there's views of the harbor. The other day we had my favorite, sausage gravy over their huge house made biscuit and my HusBend said "This is the breakfast of the week!" The sausage gravy is so well made, it's just much much better than anywhere else. But along with it comes eggs your way and fried potatoes. It's so big we split it and from now on, with that bowl of delicious fruit you see in the photo. These cooks and Chef really care about what comes out of the kitchen, your poached egg will be soft if you want it that way and your haddock chowder is so fresh and simple (we get it from their bakery next door to go often). This is one of my "must eats" when I'm home at my parents. Both breakfast and lunch are great, and sometimes I have a hard time choosing. I love the huevos rancheros with homemade corn tortillas. The pastrami sandwich is also great. They always have great specials (usually one has lobster). The restaurant can be quite loud, as it's usually packed, though you don't often have to wait in winter. I wish they would put in sound absorbing pads on the ceiling. A great little place to eat. It's got that "Mom and Pop " feel. The food is great and the portions are large. What more can you ask for? Service? Staff is very friendly and helpful. My wife got the Downeast omelet and I had the Rueben. Both were delicious and, as we found out when they were served, both could have been shared. Our family stopped by for breakfast this morning. Here is my review Service Outstanding. The staff was very friendly and made us feel like family. They were constantly checking my coffee to see if I needed refills. Food The food was very good. My wife and I shared the farmers omelet which had ham, sausage, and bacon. We bought thought it tasted very good. My only suggestion would be to offer fresh salsa which would take it to another level. We also shared the home fries which we also enjoyed. Absolutely TERRIFIC!!! Went with a group of eight on a rainy Saturday before Thanksgiving. They don't take reservations but we were aware of that and the wait wasn't short but it wasn't unbearable and the food was worth the wait. Every member of our party had something different [that is why we go out every once in a while... LOL!] and everyone RAVED about what they had. I had the Biscuits and gravy and I haven't had that anywhere in a very long time because many places get that dish all wrong. The biscuits were the best I ever had [and I make pretty good biscuits myself...] home fries were deelishush and the over easy egg was perfectly cooked....the sausage gravy was phenomenal and it had a bit of spice but I loved that about the dish to be honest. I don't get to Rockland as often as I used to but with my family still in the area I will definitely be back, and I know they eat there often...the BLT [which my friend had] was the most delicious looking BLT I ever saw!! ALL of the staff we had was awesome and our waitress was fantastic...I think her name was Heidi [not sure...I forget things... LOL] but I told her we should get a Million Dollars and drive to the border and divide the loot...she went along with the plan but we haven't found the million bucks yet. I woke up early to hit the trails near Camden and stopped here to get some fuel for the hike. I was greeted with a warm smile. The server was attentive and proactive in making sure that my glass never reached empty and checked in to make sure the food was great. This sounds like a norm for dining out. However, I have found that this tier of service has become a bit far, few, and between. Even if it was still common she deserves 5 stars. The food: I'm usually hesitant to branch out and try Eggs Benedict at other places than my 'go to' spot (Hot Suppa). I branched out and ordered their Traditional eggs Benedict. The food arrive in a timely manner, hot, and fresh. They make their own hollandaise. Taste, well....maybe I'm spoiled but the eggs benedict and home fries were a bit underwhelming. I hate writing that because I I enjoyed my experience there. I just won't get the traditional eggs benedict or home fries there next time! It certainly was not bad! It just wasn't great. That was the only negative. I can't wait to go back and try some of their other fresh and delicious looking options from the menu! The ambience was fantastic and I will be back. A pleasant brunch spot in a quiet town. Their french toast was absolutely everything you should expect a french toast to be. Crunchy exterior on a fluffy sweet bread. Topped with local blueberries. It made up for a disappointing french toast I had at another place from the day before. They have outdoor seating and brought a water bowl for my dog.
