I'm especially directing this review towards the hospice team that came into my patents's home to provide hands on care. We were very fortunate to have Alyssa, Trey, and La Sarita help us out. They were excellent communicators and very caring and competent. They exhibited great teamwork. They addressed our questions without making us feel like we were wasting their time. An additional note. After my Dad passed, just 13 days after entering hospice, my Mom did not want to sleep in her bedroom alone. Gracious Care Hospice made arrangements so we could keep my Dad's rented hospital bed so I could sleep next to her and hold her hand as she grieved the loss of her husband of 68 years. That act was outside of the hospice routine, but was a key to helping my Mom pass peacefully, 17 days later. Thank you, Gracious Care Hospice.

This home was for my father, and it was our 4th attempt at finding somewhere that would meet the standards of care we had for him. The home itself is inviting and welcoming with a large backyard where we could sit in the sun with my dad and a very safe neighborhood to go for walks in as well. The food quality was far and above any other home and they made each of the meals themselves. It always felt more like a family than someone taking care of my dad. Jamie, Leo and Amanda were incredible with my dad and I always felt so peaceful knowing he was being well cared for, never being left unattended or neglected. The kindness they all showed not only to my dad in their everyday interactions with him, but also to my mom, sister and I as we went through the painful process of watching him die, was amazing. At the very end of his life, he didn't wake or eat for 7 days, and if there was a moment we weren't by his side, they were right there. Jamie personally stayed with him through the nights singing to him and holding his hand. I can't describe the peace we felt knowing that while we went home to try to rest to regain strength, he was never alone. Jamie, Val and their staff operate with the utmost integrity, kindness and love for everyone who walks through their door-both the patients and the family. Losing my dad was the hardest thing we've ever gone through, and having him get the best care possible made that journey just a bit more bearable. That said, nothing could have made my mother's remaining days more comforting than the team at Care Partners. My mother was in the hospital for 5 days and the decision was made to move into a care home and enlist the hospice care from Care Partners. We moved her to a care home close to our house and Care Partners met with my mother, the staff at the home and my family to discuss comfort care and the end of life process. My mother was an extremely private and self-sufficient woman, Care Partners understood this and modified their care plan to keep her dignity intact as well as keep her pain-free for her remaining 5 days. I thank Care Partners from the bottom of my heart. They truly made a difference in our lives.

Caring Heart had such great reviews on so many home care review sites, as well as several best of home care awards and A+ accreditation, and now I see why. They have been fantastic in every way for my family. The company is small enough that the management, nursing and caretaker team work together, are cohesive and informed of what's going on with my folks, and keep us informed when needed. They are accommodating, very responsive, easy to reach and work with, and deeply care about their clients. It really shows. My folks aren't easy to please, but they really like their caregivers, because Caring Heart does a great job of choosing caregivers who have compatibility with them, and who truly enjoy being caregivers and it's their career - not a side job or temporary contract. Even better, we will have the same caregivers for as long as we need them, which is so reassuring and makes it so much easier on our family and gives us great peace of mind. I've learned in this process that what really matters, is the quality, consistency and genuine caring of the caregivers and the management team, and Caring Heart has that heart. They are dedicated to providing the best care with the same caregivers week to week, who are very reliable. Even better, they are run by nurses, and the Dir of Nursing has been intimately involved in assessing what my step dad needed for care when he came home from the hospital, helped us get prepared for him, and oversees their caregivers. They immediately called us and said that they were increasing their service and RN Theresa and Michelle were there for us. SW - Gwen came by to make sure Mom and the family had the necessary support we needed during this trying time. Nurse Aide Leanna came by to give Mom her very much comforting sponge bath. And of course RN Devon made the necessary trek here even in inclement weather. Their services and care are not the standard run of the mill, 8a to 4p hours. Each one of them made the added effort to insure we didn't get lost and fall between the cracks. They were definitely working as a team. Their agency wasn't only saying it as a sales pitch but were truly doing it. They weren't only talking it, they were walking it. I have worked in State government for 33 years and after retiring, worked for 10 years with two non-profit agencies, so believe me when I say, you don't have to look any further, Gentiva Hospice Care is the real McCoy. I was able o get in touch with the sweetest, most comforting & knowledgeable on-call hospice nurse I've ever come across at 10:30pm! Her name, I think, was Sonia. As comforting as our conversation was it was also educational. She reassured me that picking a hospice is like buying a car. If you don't like it you move on to the next until you find one to suit your needs. She empowered me & encouraged me--SO wasn't expecting it to be such an uplifting call. I can tell with this short encounter that my grandfather will be in the hands of some amazing & smart angel nurses & loving care I doubt I could find anywhere else. My grandpa also is not English speaking & she told me they have some nurses available that do speak our language & are familiar with our culture. I wish she could be my personal nurse every day to speak encouraging things to me every day! We haven't even entered with their program & I love it it already. Before searching anywhere else for hospice--coming from an anxious & worried granddaughter-- please give Comfort Hospice a call first. They literally answer your call at ungodly hours like I called & they don't even mind.
