I am glad I do not have to drive to Bellaire or Katy for authentic Chinese noodles. On top of that, the noodles are definitely Northern Chinese style, which consists of rich earthy broths accompanied by hand-pulled noodles and your choice of meats. Dumplings are also a must when eating this style of food. The establishment is very new as they just had their grand opening. There is a very athletic man behind a glass window in the kitchen that will be rolling the dough and forming the noodles with your very eyes. Oddly enough, this makes the noodles taste better. Again, the noodles are freshly made to order and you can see them making it too. You can tell by the mismatched size noodles in your order. The dumplings will have a thicker skin than you might be familiar with. That is because Northern-style dumplings are formed with much thicker doughs. Rest assured, this will have no impact on the rich flavors of the stuffing! The table will also have their homemade chili oil. It is not that spicy but it will greatly enhance every dish you order if you dare. Overall a positive experience here for the price. Wow. That was bad. I mean I really wanted this place to be good. But it was just bad. The complimentary fried wonton chips were stale and chewy. We got the fried cheese wontons and they came out with holes in them. The filling was scant. And the dough was thick and not crispy at all. The pan fried pork buns glistened with grease. And the flavor was just not there. The Lanzhou beef noodles were pretty long and I could believe they're homemade. But the broth tasted like water. No discernible flavor whatsoever despite the brown color. Tried putting salt on it thinking maybe that would help but didn't notice the shaker is twistable and was not set on shaker mode but rather on full open mode. So a ton of salt came out. No matter though because it just tasted like salt water thereafter as I suspected it would. Even the fortune cookie was stale. Ack. I wish this place was good. Even just decent would've been ok. Because I'm Asian too and I love to see success stories. But geez, staleness is just a sign of laziness and cheapness. And for 2 appetizers and 1 bowl of soup clocking in at over $40, I just have to say this was a big disappointment. On the plus side the server was nice and I liked the Chinese music playing in the background and the decor. So a couple stars for all that. read more

They have a large dining space inside but only a few people. They gave us complimentary wonton chips with sweet and sour sauce as we looked at the menu. We decided to get the lan zhou spicy dry noodle with beef, Szechuan dry chili chicken, beef pancake roll, and Chinese pumpkin cake. The beef pancake roll is one of my favorite appetizers from Szechuan places. Their version had a crispy roll and a crunch inside too since it had a lot of veggies. The sauce is a little too sweet for me. Their version kinda tastes like a banh mi to be honest. The Chinese pumpkin cake is a fried pumpkin with a crispy shell and comes with chili sauce. This was honestly pretty good. We got the lan zhou noodles next. The beef was tender and I liked how they put in a lot of onions. For a dry noodle there was a lot of sauce at the bottom, and it wasn't spicy at all. Overall it was still pretty good. The dry chili chicken was pretty solid as well. This place is new and very close to me so I decided to try it and ordered the stir fried beef noodles and eggrolls. It arrived via Door Dash hot, correct and on time. Those were the positives. I'm not sure where the glowing reviews came from but my noodles were flavorless, oily and overly soft -- like microwaved leftovers. The beef also had no flavor and had a boiled consistency -- and I doubt there was more than an ounce of beef in the whole dish. For veggies, there were 6 tiny slivers of some type of green pepper and some overcooked onions. The worst: the dish unleashed an off-putting odor of swamp and broccoli. The eggrolls were cooked and rolled properly, but they had no flavor. I wanted to love the food but to say I was disappointed is a huge understatement. Not for me. read more

Delicious! I had the soup dumplings and the sliced beef noodles. Very light and not heavy feeling. Flavor was just right. It wasn't oily at all. I'm happy I don't have to drive to bellaire for authentic soup dumplings. Will def come back to try other menu options. read more

We ordered two meals to go, but we sat and ate and their eggrolls, and Gyoza (pan fried dumplings )which were totally amazing. I will definitely be going back. I ordered the H2 hibachi steak as pick up/ take out order. It was so disgusting and terrible tasting. I took a few bites and had to throw the whole thing away. $20 wasted. It tasted like it was cooked in a dirty skillet with old oil or fat ( taste like Crisco) both the veggies and the meat had off rancid fat smell and taste. The food was very good. After we gave our orders to our server it took 25 minutes to get our food. it kind of bothered me that it was taking so long but after the food arrived I understood why: it was cooked to order one serving at a time and it tasted like it. The servings were large so my wife and I both ended up taking half our food home. Normally I would give this place five stars, but my only gripe is that the meal was pricey... $50 plus tip for the two of us... and you had to pay separately for your side dishes ($2 for a bowl of rice?) and they did not offer any soup or egg roll as most Chinese restaurants do. Other than being expensive, it was an excellent meal and the servers were very attentive. I recommend it but be prepared to pay for it. read more
