All you can eat KBBQ/Hot Pot dinner/weekends for $33 if you choose one ($38 if you want both but seems excessive). Been here twice now for the KBBQ and had pleasant experiences both times. While it's not super authentic Korean nor super high quality, the value of what you get for the price tag is very high. Pros: Beef belly, short ribs, thinly sliced chuck, pork belly, and the mushrooms are all great. Service is also very accommodating for the several rounds of food placed as well as switching out the grill pan for when the meat marinade burns. Also enjoy the free sauce bar that has appetizers for while we wait. Cons: Did not enjoy any of the seafood whether it be the quality of the fresh oysters or the marinade of the spicy items. Quality of the short ribs is not always consistent either (a few rounds were more fat than meat). Sesame oil is very low grade with very little flavor (can also tell by the very light color). Overall: Will definitely be back and will bring friends for what I think is the best bang for your buck KBBQ place in the Spring/Woodlands area. While some things could definitely be better, the pros definitely outweigh the cons and the place is more than good enough to keep coming back to. read more

First time trying Hi Pot today. Looked kind of small on the outside for a hot pot place, but there was plenty of seating inside. Inside it's a little dim for an intimate type setting but you still have a dedicated light at your table to adequately see your food and enjoy your meal. The hardest decision of course is whether to do hot pot, bbq, or both. This time we chose hot pot . I got the Szechuan spicy, which had a nice kick to it, but not a stand-out, super flavorful broth in my opinion. My husband got the mushroom broth, and upon trying I thought it was a really solid choice with good flavor to it. If I went back, I'd get the mushroom one for the flavor profile and then just add in my desired spice. They have a solid selection of meats, seafood, and vegetables on the lunch menu. My favorite is lamb and it did not disappoint. Best feature at this place is their massive sauce bar -probably the biggest I've ever seen. Where they probably lack compared to others is they don't have as many options for the other self-serve items. Service was decent, we had a couple of instances of getting served food we didn't order and our waitress was so soft-spoken it was hard to hear her, but otherwise drinks stayed filled and could easily get her attention when we needed to order more. I ended my meal with a trip to the dessert station and tried their mango jello- yum. I don't think I've had mango jello before so this was a nice surprise and great palate cleanser for the end of the meal. read more

Tried out Hipot, the new AYCE hotpot & BBQ spot that just opened in Spring. The place was clean, modern, and the service was attentive. Food was decent overall -- plenty of variety for both hotpot and BBQ. My only gripe is that all the BBQ meats were sliced very thin. Would have been better with slightly thicker cuts for a juicier bite. Came out to about $100 for two people including tip. Not bad for AYCE with both hotpot and grill options. I'd definitely come back again to try more of the menu! read more

We came when first opened and we thought it was so-so but gave them a second chance two months later so they could work out the kinks. They still haven't. I visited this new hot pot place on a weekday dinner and found they are open to diners choosing different items at the same table. Some hot pot/bbq places make all diners at a single table order all bbq or all hot pot, or all both....but at least my server allowed it. I chose the bbq and picked short ribs, hipot steak and CAB beef flap for my initial order, along with some of the veggies. By choosing bbq, you have 6 beef choices, as opposed to only 3 on the hot pot menu. If you're a big beef eater....definitely go with the bbq. While waiting for the first round of meats, I made my custom sauce and sampled some of the sushi, avocado salad and chicken wings. The chicken wings were pretty good for an ayce hot pot place. My custom sauce turned out pretty good as well. Unfortunately the sushi and other cold items just missed the mark. The sushi was completely bland. Hi pot steak - definitely thin and full of black pepper, it's ok. Short rib - much better and thick cut CAB beef flap - very thin and not that great Raw oysters - not that great. I ate some grilled (cooked so slow and were more streamed than anything) and some raw...grilled were better I also snagged a few slices of lamb from my table mates hot pot...it was super thin and ok. My 2nd order, I chose the beef bulgogi, CAB chuck roll, pork chop and scallops. Bulgogi - most flavorful meat as it's pre-marinated prior to cooking CAB Chuck roll - similar to chuck flap, just ok and cooks quick Pork chop - large bones throughout, thick cut. This is decent Scallops - so tiny but ok My biggest complaint is they didn't bother to refill my drink. Overall, if I came back, I would focus on the thicker cuts of beef as short ribs and bulgogi were the best meats I had. Ambiance here is ok since they try to make the dining experience fun with modern interior and use of neon lighting. They are currently running a special on their fountain drinks, which are Pepsi products, for $0.99, regularly $2.49. At the end they serve ice cream, and you can choose between 6 different flavors. Just don't go expecting Häagen-Dazs, this is AYCE afterall. read more

The food at HiPot Hot Pot and BBQ restaurant is very tasty and delicious. I had the mushroom soup broth for the hot pot soup base with ramen noodles. I highly recommend this broth flavor if you like mushrooms. My partner had the spicy chicken Broth with udon noodles and shrimp. The meats and pork we added to the hot pots were delicious. The Slices of Cut Potatoes, Enoki Mushrooms and Bean Sprouts In the Hot Pot Broth really added to the flavor of the soup as well as the items you add to to soup broth. The buffet of chicken wings, spices, oils, seasoning, veggies and desserts is a nice added touch to the restaurant. Try the wings they are delicious. The desserts were good along everything else. The host and our server were very nice and made sure to check on us periodically. The restaurant has large booths that offer a cozy feeling for a night out with your friends, family as well as for a date with that special someone. I really enjoyed this very clean, newly built hot pot and bbq restaurant. The restaurant give you a 2 hour limit for the all you can eat pricing. We came here for my friend's bday. They're still new so i understand that they're still working out some kinks, but half of us wanted hot pot, and the others wanted the bbq. We couldn't split by tables, we each either had to sit at a bbq table or a hot pot table. Instead, so we can all sit together, we did both. It was only a $5 up charge which is fine, but kind of annoying. I also think they could have had a better selection for the bbq. read more

This is an unusual review for an AYCE Korean BBQ and hot pot place--I went by myself. I had my reasons--no one around me currently is familiar with this concept (including me) and I wanted to test drive it before bringing friends and family. I ordered both the hot pot and bbq, since it's only a $5 upcharge to get both. Got a selection of meats, seafoods and vegetables for both. What I'm going to do here is share lessons learned that are specific to this restaurant--I don't think the general guides helped enough. My server was friendly and encouraging but didn't give me a lot of guidance--she was a young woman and I'm an older man and may have given the idea that I knew what I was doing, even though I told her it was my first time. Standout items for the review would be the shrimp, the HiPot pork chop, the vegetables, and the bulgogi beef. I started with the hot pot. The idea is to put slower-cooking vegetables and meats in first, then add the faster cooking items. I got a chicken broth base, feeling like that would be relatively neutral. I kind of thought about it like I was making soup, but that's probably not the right approach. I don't make soups often but when I do they simmer on the stove or in a crock pot for hours. So I put some seafood and some pork belly in with the noodles and veggies and let it go while I did my bbq. But in the end I kind of gave up on the hot pot. The bbq went much better. I felt pretty competent cooking the meats on the grill, and they were very tasty. Not so much on the veggies--I didn't get them seasoned properly. What stood out well: I got the HiPot pork chop, a marinated loin cut chop. That came out beautifully and was delicious. The other meats were good as well. Not so good: I got shrimp as part of my hot pot order. I received two beautiful large prawns--head and shell on. I don't eat them that way, but what to do? At home I'd shell them, remove the head and de-vein them before adding them to the soup pot. That seemed awkward in the restaurant. Don't think I'll order shrimp in the future. Learnings: 1. I need more specific guidance on what comes out well in Hot Pot, where you don't have all day to let the soup come together. 2. At this restaurant the seasonings and sauces are available at the sauce bar at the back of the restaurant. There are no seasonings at all at the table. In the future I would want to consider the ingredients I was ordering and prepare a mis en place of sauces and seasonings. Pretty much as though I was making it at home. That's a bit daunting if it's busy, which it always is. 3. You don't get a knife by default, they are available at the bar. Other notes: There's an appetizer bar with some standard Chinese buffet appetizers. These were quite tasty. There were also some buffet dessert cakes that were much better than average. They have a fairly large selection of drinks. I got the Thai milk tea and it was a good representation. There's ice cream available when you're winding down. The green tea ice cream was very good. The restrooms were clean and ready. The ambiance is perfect for table conversation--the acoustics reduce noise and TVs are not obtrusive. The place has been busy since opening, so the demand is absolutely there. I feel more confident that I could have a good experience with a party now. I plan to go back. read more

They have been open a short period of time and the staff already has service down. Our server, Fanny was a pleasure, my father commented to me that he wanted a refill and Fanny came by a minute later to give us a refill. There is a great selection of food. Even things like quail eggs or orange jello. There are a lot of sauces. And they have ice cream. Mocha and vanilla and three other flavors. The meal was not cheep, but a black been burrito at Taco bell is not cheep these days. And it was a great value for the amount of food you get We went Sunday, the menu is less expensive if you don't go on the weekend. Bottom line.
