Decided to try out Mimi Garden in The Woodlands on a Sunday evening. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted and sat right away. First thing I noticed was how cute the restaurant was decorated! Lots of decor on the walls with soft instrumental music playing. Our hostess/waitress was extremely polite and very sweet! She made sure to repeat our order back to us just to make sure she got everything correct. She also came by often to check up on us to see if we needed anything. We ordered the Cucumber Salad, Pork & Shrimp Xiao Long Bao, Braised Beef Shank Szechuan Noodle Soup, and the Pork Wontons with Spicy Sauce. Overall, the food was good but not great. I felt like I had to keep adding the soy sauce, black vinegar, and chile oil mixture to everything to bring out more flavor. I would probably come back one more time just to try out other menu items to see if I like it more. I'd give them 4.5 stars if the app would let me.

We ordered kung pao chicken, beef noodles, crispy chicken, spicy pork dumplings, and crispy beef rolls. All was very good.

Super cute authentic Asian cuisine. The AC was on the fritz when I went to pick up my take out. That did not hi see business at all. The dining room was full with only two empty tables. The employees looked happy and were helpful. The process on where to stand/wait until your takeout order is ready needs to be improved. The aroma hits you in the most incredible way all you can do is think about your food. We ordered kung pao chicken, beef noodles, crispy chicken, spicy pork dumplings, and crispy beef rolls. All was very good. The kung Pao did not come with rice and we didn't know that and it was salty, but still eatable. We will be in again to eat in house soon!

Quick lunch here with my friend and it was actually a nice surprise because this place is so tucked into The Woodlands that you wouldn't know it's there. The food was really good. We enjoyed every bite and it was made fresh! The service was fast and attentive and she was very helpful in many options. The ambiance is such a quaint, cute dumpling restaurant that reminds me of places in our Houston Chinatown. I will definitely come back here and try more menu items.

I'll keep this one short and sweet. It took me way too long to visit Mimi's. I've heard the hype and I had no doubt that my experience would be nothing short of awesome, but I guess I needed time to grieve the loss of the previous business who held this space. Craving dumplings, I figured it was finally time. The restaurant was buzzing with both returning company and newcomers alike. Based on the service I received, I can certainly see why locals return. As far as offerings, you can find the entire menu and photos here, but from what we chose, I'd highly recommend the beef rolls. Fair warning, if you do not eat pork, there's a limited selection of dumpling options, but all that we tried were well prepared. We're excited for their new location and hope they continue to add pork less dumpling offerings to their menu :).

Where to go in the woodlands for Chinese new year eve dinner? Well not a whole lot of choices, so we picked our local favorite. Everything was good and it was a full house. But we were the only Asians there. Well unless you count one of the waitresses. Yes we are in the Woodlands. A few notes: They don't take reservations. And you can't get in line over the phone. But it actually wasn't a long wait (they said 30 minutes over the phone). We ordered 6 dishes and they came out one by one which is good because I want it fresh and not sitting under a lamp. But there was a wait between courses. Crab Rangoon. $12 for 6. Ouch. I think that's the most expensive I've ever seen. But they were good. And in fact I only got one and my kid gobbled up the rest. I remember the crab xiaolong bao was not my favorite last time so we decided to stick with our roots and just get plain pork xiaolong bao. My new KISS philosophy (keep it simple stupid). It was good and better than the fancy shmancy crab one imho. Got a nice jiggle too (see vid) The beef in the beef rolls were cold this time. I asked the waitress and actually it's supposed to be cold. It is sometimes hot (like we got last time) because of the way they fry it. Popcorn chicken - always a sure bet. Love the custard buns and playing around with my food before consuming it. C3 Noodles same as last time. Staff were nice as last time. They didn't give me a bag for my two take home containers this time. Maybe you have to ask.

First I saw this place on TikTok , so I decided to give it a try. The food was so good , so fresh. Our waiter was so sweet I wish I remembered his name. After he found out it was a table of first timers he explained the entire menu and even gave some of his person favorites! The space was clean and small. It is also in a corner of the strip wouldn't know it was there

Tucked away inside a neighborhood shopping center, MiMi Garden is a true authentic Chinese eatery with some dim sum options. The Wood Ear Mushrooms is a good alternative to spiced cucumber salad if you are craving for a cold appetizer. Veggie dumplings were a delight but their buns are just amazing. It was a disappointment though that they do not serve chicken buns anymore but still should on the menu. The chicken friend noodles was a great choice as well and the noodles itself were very flavorful. Service is decent as you keep your expectations managed. In all a good place, that I get be a regular at!

Xiao long bao: pork and shrimp and pork only - thin skin which is a plus. The best crispy flaky scallion pancake beef rolls!!! I was so surprised and impressed and I could eat a ton of these!!! General tso chicken: too salty and not crispy Braised beef soup: very tender beef, soup good, noodles are not made in house Hot and sour soup: he seemed to have enjoyed it a lot.

Absolutely amazing! These are the very best noodles and soup dumplings we have ever had. Everyone was very nice, the food came out quickly, and it was all delicious. This is a must-go to restaurant!

Wow! So impressed. We were on date night with our besties and saw a review on Yelp, so that's how we found MiMi Garden. Everything was full of flavor. My favorite thing was the spicy noodles, but everything was delicious! Our waitress was knowledgeable and helpful and she had a great spirit about her! Looking forward to another visit!

Why 4 stars? Because this was a perfectly 4-star experience. --- --- --- We loved a couple things, liked a couple things and could have done without a couple others. Let's talk about it. Crab rangoon: 4-stars. Perfectly solid crab rangoon. Crispy Shrimp Balls with Melting Cheese: 3.5-stars. I hadn't ever ordered these before. I took a risk. They were fine, but I'd probably opt for something else next time. They also burned half of the skin out of my mouth, so I'd advise letting them sit for a bit before digging in. Popcorn Chicken: 3.5-stars. We ordered this for our son. I didn't love the flavor, but I found myself consistently going back for more. Seed oil? Combination Fried Rice: 3-stars. Fried rice is generally always about the same, but I was surprised that it tasted like something was missing here. What? I'm not sure. Lack of seed oil? Stir Fried Udon with Black Pepper Beef: 5-stars. By far, my favorite part of the meal. I could eat this every day of my life and not get tired of it. Passion Fruit Boba: 1-star. Inedibly bad. Maybe I am just not as much of a passion fruit person as I thought, but I really hated this. I took a few sips and couldn't go beyond that. Would I come back to MiMi Garden? Maybe? We did not dislike it, but we probably didn't love it enough to be rushing back either. Granted, there's a huge menu with many new possibilities for a future visit.

This place was absolutely amazing! Everything came out nice and hot, and the service was very quick. My top favorite were the crab rangoons and cucumber salad. The rangoons were not too overpowering with cream cheese and you could really taste the crab and the portion comes with a lot to share. The cucumber salad was delicious and the flavors were nicely balanced. I was happy with how big the portion, since they were so good. I also enjoyed how crispy the pan fried dumplings were and how juicy they were once you took a bite. The place is nicely decorated and well lit. Would be a great place for go for lunch or dinner either for a date or large group. The only bad thing I would say is the seats are kind of low and can become uncomfortable.

Cute little spot for some Asian food. I was looking for some beef noodle soup and soup dumplings and it did hit the spot. Service wasn't the friendliest, but they were fast.

The restaurant is located in a small shopping center where several businesses share a large parking lot so parking was not a problem at all. Free and you can park close. Upon entering the restaurant, you'll notice that it's quite sizeable with many tables and seats. We went for an early lunch on a weekday and it was fairly empty. There was one large party of 8 and a few tables for 2 that were occupied. We got our table for 4 in a booth-like seating arrangement and prepared to look over the extensive menu. The menu is quite extensive and took a while to get through. Since it was our first time there, we decided to go with the classics: 1. Braised beef noodle soup - came out piping hot. Good portion. Good flavor. Noodles aren't necessarily hand-pulled but had inconsistent width making me wonder if they make the noodles in-house. They were very good. I wish there was a little more beef, and the beef was tender but not the best I've had. 2. Wonton soup - huge given it's an appetizer. I liked everything about it and could have been full if I just ate that myself. 3. Pork soup dumplings - the size of each dumpling is much bigger than expected. I liked everything how the top has a hole so you can actually drink the soup without needing to bite into the dumpling skin. 4. Pan fried pork dumplings - standard. I liked it but could have used a little more vegetables. Very meat-heavy. All in all, the food was great but not amazing. Prices were fair and maybe a tad on the expensive side. The service was good overall - waitress was super nice but obviously new. She made the experience quite positive. Lastly the reason I couldn't quite give it 5 stars is there was a faint odor in the restaurant (maybe sewage) that just made the meal a little less appetizing than it could have been. And some of the serving utensils were dirty so we had to ask for new ones.

I genuinely wanted to give this place five stars, but unfortunately our experience was disappointing overall. When we first arrived, there was nobody at the front to greet or seat us, and we waited several minutes before anyone acknowledged us. Service started off decent enough, but once our food arrived, it felt like we were completely forgotten. Nobody checked on our table afterward, we never received water refills, and our server was essentially unavailable for the rest of the meal. We were also seated next to an extremely loud party that was yelling throughout dinner. We wanted to request another table because it was disrupting the experience, but our server never returned to our section, so we never had the opportunity to ask. For a restaurant that presents itself as high caliber, I was surprised that management allowed such a disruptive atmosphere to continue. As for the food, the BBQ Pork Buns and Siu Mai were both very good. The award-winning Beef Rendang was easily the highlight of the meal and the best dish we ordered. Unfortunately, the Mee Goreng and Malaysian Fried Rice were major disappointments. Both dishes had an unpleasant smell and lacked flavor or seasoning, making them very unappetizing. Another issue was finding a bug on our table during dinner. I understand things can happen, but combined with everything else, it added to an already frustrating experience. We even wanted additional napkins, but again, our server never came back to check on us. Eventually, we became so frustrated waiting for service that we got up and paid the bill ourselves. Ironically, that was the moment our server finally reappeared. To make matters worse, gratuity appeared to already be added to the bill, which honestly did not feel deserved given the level of service we received. Overall, the BBQ Pork Buns and Beef Rendang were the only parts of the experience that saved the meal for us. It's disappointing because the restaurant itself is beautifully designed and has a great ambiance, which made us even more excited to try it. Unfortunately, the poor service and inconsistent food quality overshadowed what could have been a much better dining experience.

I ordered the lobster ravioli with a side of hush puppies and my old guy ordered the lamb chops, well done, with gumbo (we don't eat pork) and stuffed shrimp. Everything was so damn great tasting. I mean, damned good tasting. My only flaw was the roux could've been a little thinner, but that is absolutely it. Fabulous timeeee and I'm so recommending.

So they've moved. From Market Street to the space Next to one of my favorite cafes (PB)…read more Parking lot not full on an Easter Weekend. Despite a pretty empty restaurant we were told that only the bar and outside were available. And unlike many other places, they said this bar only allows 21 and older to dine in the bar area, which means only the outside for us. This being a cold (because of the wind) and cloudy morning. Sigh. Asked for a kids menu and was told it's only for 12 and under. Got the evil eye from the hostess when I said my kid qualifies. Then I offered to show them her ID and they backed off with smiles even. The complementary potato chips kind of tasted like Chips Oman. At least they weren't stale and it's a nice addition while you wait. The kiddo got the kids catfish which was just a pretty small piece of fish. Fries were good. Side fruit consisted of strawberries pineapple and red grapes. No drink included. Had to chase down the staff to get some tartar sauce. I wanted a Po Boy but was told they don't offer it on the weekends. Asked about beignets and was told it's only for dessert. Sigh. Decided to get the pork ribeye fricassee. The flavor was good but boy was it salty. Almost like they dropped a whole shaker of salt on it. Good thing there was some rice to counter the effect. Otherwise it would be inedible. So after our meal we had access to the desert menu and got a half order of beignets (4 pieces). They were ok. The dough on these is pretty thick though. Not sure if that's standard but I'd prefer light and fluffy. Soft opening was just the day before. So I think they're trying to find their stride. Water girl was on it though so kudos to her. Waiter was meh. Had to go in and fetch him a few times as they don't come outside much, especially when you're the only one out there. The bar area is small but the bartenders are nice. They have a sectioned off room in the back which might be good for a larger group. Place is kinda small overall though.
