I found this place more attuned to service than other aspects of dining. The service: 3.5 stars. I had to get myself a second napkin but she did refill my free ice-water. There seemed to be less than ideal coordination between kitchen and service, but maybe the mid-to-late afternoon time I arrived had to do with that. I've only been there once. The ambiance was so-so; 3 stars. I saw some interesting historical photos on the walls, so maybe 3.5 stars? I got the cranberry spinach salad with tree nut sprinkles. It was average at best: 3 stars; the tasty creamy dressing was 4.5 stars. With the salad, I had a Southwest Baby Pizza. The crust was very good, 4 stars. The toppings were more like 3 stars, although the cook with mozz melt was just right: 4 stars. Food overall: 4 stars, but only by rounding up. This place gets 3.5 overall (which rounds up to four). Your mileage may vary! I'd recommend it for a fairly speedy family meal in a decent downtown neighborhood, but this isn't gourmet food. I'm still searching for great pizza near Richmond, MO. I may revisit here, but I am not in a very big hurry to do so. read more

my husband and I went on a date there in Richmond mo. I got a personal pizza and I already at one slice when I started on another slice I saw a piece of hair. I told our waitress and she had them remake it. but I also noticed none of the cooks were not wearing hair nets. I don't think we'll be going there for a long time. read more

Back in my childhood hometown for the annual Mushroom Festival, we were a little disappointed walking around the booths of the event looking for morels to eat/buy, because all that was available at this point in the festivities was a couple from Nebraska selling $25 8oz bags of not-quite-fresh looking little treasures. We decided, instead, to stop in Hometown Pizza, which is sitiuated on the square across from the courthouse to get out of the sprinkles and have a quick lunch. When I spent my time in Richmond, this was probably a lawyer's office, or maybe an accountant or insurance agency, but now, the business operates in what was 2 narrow offices that have been combined into one large room, with the old dividing wall between the two punctuated by large, wood-trimmed windows. One area has a nice bar area, while the main dining room was lined with booths along the sides, and tables through the middle. Our waitress came by and took our order for a medium veggie pizza and a couple of ice teas, which we upgraded to Boulevard Wheats as the rain outside started coming down a little heavier. There was also a salad bar up by the counter which we probably would have taken advantage had we seen it earlier, but all in all, not a big deal. Our pizza came out quickly and with a smile, and a lady who I am assuming was the manager/owner came by a couple of times to check on us. The festival is not really a huge thing for out-of-towners, and so we were happy to not be picked out as the foreigners, which can happen in small towns - since both of us are children of rural areas, we know how it goes. We were assured we didn't need to rush to finish or take care of the check, and our drinks were kept filled throughout. The pizza itself tasted like everything was freshly made, as indicated on the menu. The sauce wasn't overly sweet, and the crust was just thick enough to hold everything without being the main thing taken away in each bite. Given the other options, we are really glad we stopped in Hometown Pizza for lunch - the carnival fair-style trucks outside had nothing appetizing and the only other thing open was the heavily meat-leaning deli/meat locker across the square - no-go for vegetarians, no matter how much "When in Rome . . . " we might wanted to tell ourselves. We've already made our calendar entries for next year's festival - with better planning to get on the morels - and will undoubtedly be looking to Hometown Pizza again for something a little more satisfying than corn dogs and texas twister fries. read more

This place is amazing. You have such a selection of what you want. The pizza can be individual size or larger. The have cheese sticks that are oh so yummy! Pretty good selection of beer. You can get sandwiches and salads! Recommend this place often! read more

We've ordered from them twice and they have said they ran out of cookies, the raviolis were burnt, and the sandwiches were hard and cold. We will NOT be going to them again. read more

The decor in this restaurant is industrial style. I love the exposed brick walls and acid stained floor. We usually order carry out pizza and it is the best in town. One Thursday we came and had the buffet. It's a small town, so you know someone every where you go. The kids loved having dinner there. They immediately wanted to come every week. It isn't often kids love a restaurant that isn't a play place. It is our go to family restaurant in town. read more

Terrible. Went to pick up an order, got back to work and realized we were missing one. Called for over 20 minutes on multiple phone lines with no answer. Finally got ahold of someone and told them we needed it delivered. Over 30 minutes later finally received it and the lady that delivered it was very hateful. read more
