Local restaurant with amazing food and service. Best to have a reservation but they do take walking as well. The pasta...I've tried so many of the dishes and they have been phenomenal. And the bread!!!

It serves god Italian pasta and pizzas. Bread was ok The pasta I got was Luigi's special, which has different type of sausages, a piece of chicken and spinach and peppers. The sauce was thick and tasty, and pasta was ok, but with the sauce, I finished the whole plate. The servers were super friendly and attentive, it was a wonderful experience dining there. The location of this restaurant is in a cute nice shopping square, which is a plus so it can be a included in the shopping itinerary.

Luigi's has quickly become my favorite restaurant. They have a huge menu with plenty of Italian options for everyone. The Alla Panna appetizer is a simple but super flavor sauce that you dip with the complimentary bread. It was a huge hit with my whole family, we even took one to-go and it's only $6. I had the Ravioli Champagne for my entree and it was FANTASTIC. It tasted just as good as it looked. Our server was attentive to our needs and always kept our drinks refilled. The atmosphere is intimate but lively. You could go there for a nice lunch or to celebrate a birthday, it goes either way! I'd highly recommend this business to anyone and look forward to visiting again in the future.

Yelp never disappointments to suggest the best restaurants when you're in an unfamiliar area. Case in point - Luigis! We stopped in for a late lunch/early dinner. As with all Italian places, Luigis serves fresh baked bread. They accompanied it with an olive oil dip, but not the standard that you're used to. Luigis olive oil dip has balsamic vinegar swirled in and small bit of marinated red onion. It was SO good. It's hard to put the bread down and wait for your meal! The chicken fettuccini Alfredo was very good. The portion is a bit smaller than what you might receive at another restaurant, but still more than enough to fill you up. The pasta was egg based, sauced well and the chicken was very tender. The waitress brought out a huge bowl of thick, freshly grated Parmesan which added perfect flavor. The little guy couldn't resist scanning the dessert menu and opted for the Lemon Mist Cake. I was thankful he shared a few bites because it was SO good. The icing was made from marscapone so it wasn't overly sweet which I loved. If you're looking for authentic, homemade Italian in the Liberty area, give Luigis a try.

Well seasoned and not greasy. The lunch came with 3 pieces of chicken, a scoop of green beans (has bacon and onion in it fyi) and a scoop of their delicious mashed potatoes with white creamy gravy (no pepper, more cheesy, so good). I do wish they gave you a bit more of the sides, but it was a good amount for the $ at lunch. Appreciate the bread and butter as you wait for the meal. Great upscale Italian atmosphere without making you feel like you need to pronounce every menu item with an accent. The menu has a nice variety, and our waiter was fantastic. He took the time to explain the dishes and even gave us a heads-up on which items took longer to prepare. I always appreciate the honesty--nothing worse than wondering if your entrée is being handcrafted by Italian grandmas in the back. The drinks were delicious and surprisingly reasonably priced. We did find out they have a happy hour at the bar...right after we missed it. Rookie mistake on our part! The lasagna absolutely stole the show. Rich, flavorful, cheesy, and worth every bite. If you're on the fence, order it. The appetizer was tasty but felt a little small for the price, so I'd probably save room (and money) for more pasta instead. Overall, I'd definitely come back to work my way through the menu. Next time I'll aim for happy hour, order another pasta dish, and try not to let the lasagna set unrealistic expectations for everything else.

Some of the best Italian inspired food anywhere. It's justifiably difficult to get a booking, as befits the best restaurant in Kansas City. Beautiful dishes in a great atmosphere. Start with the ambiance: it's usually busy in an enjoyable uplifting way. People watching is at a peak here as smart diners move between elegant and tasteful furniture while friendly, professional (and invariably handsome) wait staff glide through it all. If you recognize and appreciate good Italian design, this place will delight you before you've even glanced at the menu. Talking of the menu - it's a revolving tableau of Italian inspired deliciousness that will cause you to pause after each first bite - and look up at your dinner companion with a smile that says "wow"! Last night I had a lobster roll that defied gravity in its lightness. And the taste and texture was just perfect - what an appetizer! It was a moderate eating evening so I only had the pasta. A Carbonara of homemade thick noodle pasta with a deeply seductive cream sauce base. Paired both with a selection from the other great feature of Farina, its wine list. My selection was a minerally dry sparkling rose (I know, but trust me!) from the slopes of Etna. The wine selection is itself a wonderful experience - I'd recommend sticking with the Italian options - of which there are many, and they are quality examples some of which are rare finds in America. When you add great service and - as always - a brief check in from one of the two owners (he chef, she sommelier) you can round out a top level dining experience right here in KCMO. One to rival any other eatery in much bigger markets - or even Italy itself.

Since I have children with food allergies, I called ahead and also spoke with the managers when we arrived. I was extremely impressed with how seriously they took our concerns. They personally entered the order and served the food for my kids to ensure everything was handled correctly. One disappointment was learning that the chicken tenders and fries are technically dairy-free but are fried in the same oil as other foods containing dairy. Thankfully, my son was happy with his meal -- "buttered" spaghetti made with margarine and sautéed shrimp. My daughter had grilled chicken and fries, though both were unfortunately much too salty. While the service was adequate, it could have been more attentive. When I ordered a salad with my meal, I specifically requested ranch dressing, but it appeared that the waitress was somewhat taken aback by my preference, as she seemed to assume that everyone preferred the traditional Italian dressing. Unfortunately, the salad arrived with the incorrect Italian dressing, which was a minor disappointment. Although the restaurant had a pleasant and inviting atmosphere, one significant drawback that I noticed was the complete lack of any hand sanitizer stations available anywhere within the dining area, which is something I believe is important for maintaining hygiene in a public space.
