This place is not safe. They do not have cameras that cover the parking lot. There is a lot of homeless people around. My car was broken into and I lost about $2000 worth of items. If you have elderly family, kids or vulnerable people. Thieves tend to take advantage of people like that. I would not recommend this. The hotel itself is very nice and they are remodeling. It is extremely loud at night very thin walls. You can hear the neighbors above you. Into the wee hours of the morning. Most definitely wear earplugs. But my largest recommendation is that if you are unable to protect yourself. I would not stay here. It is not safe again. Your car will be broken into. The staff does not care nor do the police in Anchorage. Save yourself a headache. read more

This place had pretty much everything for the price. The only thing I wished was that the rooms were a bit cleaner. A bit more detail oriented cleaning of the rooms would make this place better overall. Seems as if it was really decent in the beginning, but the room was worn N' torn a but with usage. Breakfast was hit and miss, there was always something that needed to be replenished and seemed like it wasn't. Kind of like, we have 10 bagels today and when they are gone that's it. read more

Did not honor reward program members with digital check in that they claim to offer that bypasses the front desk when checking in after a long travel day. When I brought it to Ataniamamao Ioane's attention, supervisor simply apologized and hoped I would stay again in the future. With the rewards member false accommodations, and supervisors lack of concern for Hilton's most valued guest, I will not be staying here in the future. read more

Best hotel I have stayed at in Anchorage...anyone that comes here frequently will know what I am talking about. Most of the major hotel chains locations are worn down and tired. The good news over the last 2 years there has been an insurgence of newer hotels and Home 2 Suites is one of them. Located right outside of downtown Anchorage and just minutes from the airport. The rooms are very spacious and equipped with all the necessities that you need for a comfortable stay. From a nice size fridge, small cook top, all the utensils you would need including an eating area, couch and separate bedroom. The bed and pillows were super comfortable and had great nights rest while staying here. The gym as well had plenty of equipment from ellipticals, bikes and treadmills plus some weights. In the morning they don't have the best hotel breakfast but it's decent. Overall enjoyed my stay and glad to have this option while visiting Anchorage. read more

I had major issues getting maintenance in to fix the heat in my first room. It took me calling Hilton and having them contact the hotel and move my room. Once moved, the experience was ok. I thought it came with a stove, instead it's a hot plate, but still, I was there for a month, so the ability to cook was nice. The elevator is scary as it tends to drop a notch occasionally. One of the two washers was broken the whole time I was there. The good was that the staff was nice. I never had to really ask for much. I brought my own pillow and blanket and the staff made my bed with my bedding included. There are propane grills out back if you prefer to grill. Overall, I've stayed at better hotels, but I've also stayed at worse ones. So this is a middle of the road experience. read more

When you get to the airport, ride a yellow cab taxi to the hotel and the hotel staff will give them a voucher to pay for the cab. Not many restaurants around here especially late at night. The room itself is pretty nice. Modern and clean. It's a suite that has a small kitchen which was nice. There was a curtain to separate the bed from the pull out couch for privacy. The included breakfast was lackluster. Coffee, Kirkland juice, yogurt, unmarked cold omelettes, and cold jimmy deans sausage egg and cheese breakfast sandwiches which were surprisingly pretty good.They closed the waffle station prob for COVID. There was no microwave downstairs so we had to microwave the breakfast Sandwiches in our room which was inconvenient bc there's nowhere to eat in our rooms so we brought them back downstairs to eat. They wouldn't extend our checkout by an hour which sucked. read more

Stayed here on Sept 19-20 and I was so impressed. The late night clerk was one of the most thoughtful, kind, and informative staff I've ever met. Give this woman a raise! The rooms are comfortable and the kitchenette is ideal with a dishwasher, big fridge, and counter space. Note: staff are taking covid seriously. This hotel was excellent for a fairly moderate price. I am fairly certain it is a newer hotel from the looks of it, which is a plus. The rooms were well decorated, clean, and very comfortable. The beds were plush, and we got very good sleep here. We visited in March, but for those coming in the summer months they provide some heavy duty shades to get good sleep. Each rooms has a kitchenette, and upon request you can get a small stove top from the front desk. They offer a free shuttle service to, and from the airport, which arrived promptly. All I had to do was call upon arrival, and they sent the driver out. The staff was extremely friendly, helpful, and very accommodating. They have an indoor pool/hot tub as well as a fitness area. The lobby was very comfortable to complete some work, and they provided infused water, coffee, tea and hot chocolate 24/7. There was also a basket of free fruit available as well as other items for purchase. 2 tvs are located in the lobby that typically had the news on. The lobby also had literature for excursion, daily newspapers, and information on the state. They also had a nice patio seating area for when the weather got warmer. Included with your stay is a daily breakfast. This was not your average continental breakfast. There was a wide variety of items to choose from including breakfast sandwiches and a waffle maker. It was a very nice array of items. The location of the hotel was close to the airport, but also accessible to downtown, and the highway. You can easily get to Girdwood or Portage glacier area from this hotel as well as the downtown restaurants. We very much enjoyed our stay here, and would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a place to stay in the Anchorage area! read more

Front desk ladies were nice and the rooms appeared to be clean however, after I unpack after a long day of work to find the bed skirt of my bed with black dog hair and stains after just moving my pillows around at the head of the bed. I call and complain, get moved to a new room, have to pack up all my stuff to go to a room with the same exact problem after look except there is chip crumbs too.. how is it sanitary not to wash dirty bed skirts? read more

This is my second stay here in two years, staying about a week each stay. I used to stay in another Hilton brand just a few steps from here but since they opened the Home2, it has become my favorite. I love the cleanliness, upscale feel of the interior and ambiance in each room. The staff is superb, from the front desk, the breakfast staff and housekeeping. Everyone has a smile to offer. I will not mention names but the person who checked me in early wanted to charge me an extra day, because I'm checking in early (7am), their check in time is not until 3-4pm. I asked why and she just simply said I'm coming in earlier than usual. My flight came in at 425am and I took advantage of their Digital Key, checked in through the app a day earlier. I asked if she can ask the manager to wave it and she said she'll ask when the manager arrives. Thank God I was informed that they will not charge an extra day! Thank you! Overall, this is a fabulous stay for me and will continue to stay here as long as the rates stays reasonable. read more

An excellent place to stay. Entire facility is maintained very clean, a super breakfast offering, and especially noteworthy are their employees. I'd like to specifically mention Leslie Moore, Grace, and Edd. These employees were very helpful, courteous, and friendly. They really make you feel comfortable to be there. Over and above service. We inadvertently left an electric toothbrush charger in our room. Having just moved into another hotel in the city, because we were beginning a Disney Tour there, we realized we left the charger. I called Home2Suites and spoke to Leslie. They found it and at our request he physically drove downtown and brought it to us because we no longer had transportation of our own. Yes the hotel is new, modern, comfortable and quite enjoyable. Although the employees are a little uneasy. Checking in was a breeze and he was cool..although he somewhat vented that he hated working there. Also gave us a lecture on no marijuana allowed ( it somewhat came off offensive due to the pressure of insinuating that we smoke that crap or something although we had our two children with us) it was very strange. Also the night manager kept sending one of his employees to constantly remind us that the pool is closing soon although we were clearly aware and saw the signs stating when it closed. It was uncomfortable after the third time. Then the employee simply sat there and monitored us while we were swimming. It almost felt like we were at a prison then enjoying our stay amenities. We gave up swimming and went to our room. Our children were disappointed but it just wasn't worth staying and feeling uncomfortable. Then my grandmother was lost trying to find her room and my husband was trying to help her find her room..that in which the same employee sent by the same night manager came power walking down the hall saying they were just wondering what's going on because they were watching us on the cameras! We felt as if we are not allowed to stay in the hall longer than 5 mins top before being approached and questioned. It was the weirdest experience I've ever came across staying at a Hilton. We prefer staying at any of the Hiltons due to such pleasant past experiences all over the world, especially since we're HiltonHonors!! Being in the tourism marketing industry, we truly understand the concerns due to it being a new establishment, but being watched and practically stalked like a hawk is a bit excessive. Overall, the room and amenities were awesome. It accommodated my family and our expectations. Improvement needed which is why I gave it "two stars" is due to the staff. Which is unfortunate because tourist highly depends on amazing customer service while on vacation that practically ties their entire experience while visiting. read more

A hotel that decorate each room with a tiny kitchen and IKEA theme furnitures. The kitchen had a medium size refrigerator, toaster, plates, bowls, glasses, cups, full utensils, coffee maker, and DISHWASHER. It feel like my own kitchen. The hotel also provide free breakfast and Internet. The price is very competitive with the area's other hotels. The only negative is the small breakfast area. The manager illegally charged me for a window I did not break. It took me three calls to finally speak to a manager whom after five business days finally procured a receipt of the illegal charge and fake photos of the damage. Also they kept a charge for a cancelled booking from my cousin. They also double charged a coworker all under the same and current management. read more

We unexpectedly had to stay in a hotel one night during our trip to Anchorage, due to poor planning of our party! After lots of online searching and calling around, we found Home2. We were looking for something that was $200 a night or under and not scuzzy looking. The place looked nice on the outside (especially compared to the Ramada Inn, which we drove passed and I quickly said "nope"). They offered a military discount that beat out the other hotels by a lot - the price dropped from $219 to $189 and the other hotels only dropped the price by 5 or 6 dollars. I immediately said, "We'll stay here." The front desk attendants were very helpful, friendly, and nice. It took little time to get our room key and all that jazz. Our room was very clean and big! We were not expecting so much. It came with a LARGE fridge and freezer, a dishwasher, a couch, lots of counter space, and a table. What the heck?! This was the cheapest room possible, guys! We were only staying one night, but I totally would have loved to stay here longer. The bed was comfortable and we slept like babies thanks to the black out curtains. Totally clutch. They offer complimentary breakfast and it was pretty standard: cereal, waffles, yogurt, etc. Totally fine! I wasn't that hungry so I just ate a buttered biscuit and a banana. They have plenty to choose from though. The coffee was incredibly weak though, which is a problem for me but does not make or break a hotel experience by any means. If I ever come back to Anchorage, I will totally stay here again! read more

The check in process was way below par. Basically, we arrived a few hours early, 12 PM to be exact. I spoke with the front desk manager and asked if our room was possibly available. I am a Hilton Honors member gold level and he told me the room would be available at 1 PM but definitely not later than 1:30 PM. We arrived at 1:30 PM and the room was not ready and he said they were just finishing cleaning it. I noticed the front desk manager packing up and getting ready to leave for the day at 2:30 PM, one hour later! We had sat in the lobby the entire time and he never once followed up with us. I then walked up to the new oncoming employee and she checked with housekeeping to see if our room was available and it still was not. We saw numerous other people check into the hotel ahead of us and get their keys early with no issues. We finally were given a room at 3 PM. For some reason they gave us an accessible room although we did not request one nor have we ever requested one at a Hilton property. Basically, the false promise of a 1:30pm checkin time cost us 1.5 hours of our vacation. The main problems in the room were small black hairs on top of the shampoo dispenser, a pocket door between the bathroom and bedroom that would not fully close and/or latch, and a shower faucet that did not get the water hot (room 205) in the position that was supposed to be hot. Overall, the property had a nice atmosphere and overall cleanliness but the lack of front desk customer service turned me off and I would likely consider another brand prior to staying at Home 2 by Hilton again. One other thing is the fact that the majority of the patrons were not wearing a mask inside. I do not know if it is Hilton's policy for everyone to wear masks or not. However, the good thing is the fact that every employee we saw were wearing their masks. read more

Exactly what we needed for our week long stay working from "home." It was covid, so they left us breakfast brown bags at our door every morning, guest followed wearing masks indoors, we were able to reserve out the entire gym (so we did every day for an hour)! It was only 1/2 mile walk from a cute park, a mile walk to bomb ice cream and Bear Paw restaurant was also a short walk away we liked the food so much we went twice.  Unfortunately, the starbucks nearby was closed to walkups and you know how much coffee it takes to stay in a hotel room all day and work. One saving grace was that we could borrow a hot plate from the front desk and cook our own food too! I would stay again, so much so that we actually booked another Home2Suites in the lower 48 and it reminded me I should write a nice review for this one! Overall, this was a pretty good hotel. We stayed here for almost a week. It was clean and pretty. Housekeeping was nice about bringing us extra blankets and pillows. The front desk was nice about us staggering through their lobby at 10pm, muddy, and exhausted after another Alaskan adventure. They have good blackout shades on the windows, good pillows, and the bathroom was nice. They have a little recycling bin in the room. They have cell phone charger outlets on the bedside lamps (thank you!) and the desk has a slide-out table on wheels that was very handy. - The free breakfast was quite satisfactory - probably because I love waffles and I love oatmeal. (Milk is very expensive in Alaska, you have to adjust your breakfast.) - The hotel does not have a restaurant BUT there is a really great pizza and gyro place (Sparta) that delivers to the hotel, and directly to your ROOM in the hotel. Look them up on GrubHub. They were so good. - The walls are thin. Just about every night there was an action movie playing in the next room, around midnight. We could even hear the individual words and theme music - that's how thin the walls are. We had to play a white-noise app to drown it out, so we could get to sleep. - There is a privacy curtain between the real bed and the sofa. Don't count on sleeping on the fold-out sofa-bed, though. After 2 nights, the lumps and bars under the mattress really wear on you. Maybe it's OK for 40 pound kids? But I wouldn't count it as a real 'bed' if you're planning a group trip. read more

I stayed in this hotel after being in Anchorage and staying in another hotel for 2 days. This hotel is new and very up to date and accomodating. I have to mention Sean. He's one of the staff members and he went out of his way to make sure I was comfortable. The room was small and featured a queen bed and a full/queen pull out that my 2 girls slept on. There are larger rooms. This one kept up with the military's budget. We had our dog with us and we were on the first floor. Even with this being the case all was quiet and peaceful at night. My kids loved the pool. I loved the hot tub. It was excellent, because I really found it hard to relax with the midnight sun that summer in Anchorage brings. There is a nice gym and there are TVs EVERYWHERE. The breakfast was nice. There was a decent variety. However it was early as heck. 6am to 9:30pm. We struggled at first to catch it due to jetlag. We just wanted to sleep, but waking up hungry in a hotel room without a stove is no good. Some of the other guests were a bit snobby with regard to either my pajamas or my skin color either way my kids and I felt more comfortable taking breakfast in our room. The guests did seem to be of a better caliber than those at our previous hotel. The laundry facility was way too small but affordable. The cost was $1.00 for each thing. I found myself timing other peoples laundry because a family of 5 needs clean clothes. What stops a full 5 star review from me is the fact that there were dirty blankets and sheets left INSIDE the pullout. This wasn't discovered until it was very late and I as a guest should NOT have to strip the sheets ans blankets off of any kind of bed in any hotel. That I didn't like and that spoke to the true heart of the cleaning staff. Cutting corners is not acceptable but because the front desk and grounds staff was wonderful, ESPECIALLY SEAN, I only took away one star. I find myself missing this hotel. Living in Fairbanks this, for the last two years, has been my go to place when doing business in Anchorage. Always great staff and very clean rooms. The workout area has top-notch equipment and the pool is a blast for the kids. After long stays the breakfast gets tired but as others have said there is a Starbucks nearby to shake it up.
