The common deck was a perfect place to start or end the day with views of the water. I think she could see how tired we were from driving, so she gave us a nice room on the1st floor which was very convenient - since we knew we would be coming and going from our truck to our room. She made a great choice.. we were close to our vehicle so we didn't have to walk far to unpack our vehicle. Our room was cozy with a heater and an air conditioner. The beds were comfortable and there was great water pressure for the shower. Thank you to Eurina for making our evening welcoming and enjoyable. A second shout out to Boyd, at breakfast. For the price, this is an absolute steal- meaning the owners of this hotel are stealing your money if you stay here. 1. The smell in the hotel rotated from smoke from cigarettes to urine depending on the time of day 2. Our room had crusty stains behind the toilet, a non functioning window which is stuck in the open position (did I mention we are next to the airport so those 7am low flying aircraft make for a great alarm clock, there is no cleaning service unless you specifically ask for it, the room is mind bogglingly hot for it being in Alaska and the window AC units only seem to spit out lukewarm air. The pillows were decent though. 3. The hallways are, not a lie, straight out of the back rooms or the shining. A labyrinth of twists and turns on fifty year old carpet that hasn't been cleaned since Reagan was in office awaits you on your stay. Just try to get a room near the elevator to save yourself ten minutes of walking the hallways and experiencing the smell that lingers from each fiber if the carpet. Do not stay here.

I am staying here an extra day as part of a Regent Seven Seas cruise. Regent is paying for tomorrow. I cannot believe that a luxury cruise line -- much less "the world's most luxurious cruise line" -- puts its passengers here. I suspect that it's an old relationship. But Regent needs to visit this place and rethink this relationship. And if you're thinking of staying here, I urge you to rethink too.
