A seven hour drive was all I had in me. I almost made it home. We stopped at the Home2 Suites for the night. They are located on the west side of Bakersfield. There were a couple of office buildings and an Italian restaurant nearby. Check in was quick and easy. They gave us a room with 2 queen beds on an upper floor, exactly as we reserved. The room was clean and comfortable. Soap, shampoo, conditioner and lotion bottles were full. They have a gym downstair with treadmill, ellipticals, and dumbbells. It was good enough to get a good workout. Breakfast is served downstairs in the morning. They have their usual Hilton special microwaved foods. Coffee and teas are also available. It's a good property. Good enough for one night. read more

We were extremely disappointed with our stay at this Home2 Suites. Unfortunately, the cleanliness and overall condition of the room were unacceptable. When we returned to our room, we found that the bathroom sink was completely backed up and would not drain properly. Even more concerning, there was pubic hair left in the shower, making it clear that the bathroom had not been cleaned thoroughly before our arrival. This was both unsanitary and disgusting. On top of that, the walls were incredibly thin. We could hear conversations, doors closing, and other guests throughout the night, making it difficult to relax or get a good night's sleep. We chose this hotel expecting the clean, comfortable experience that Home2 Suites is known for, but this stay fell far below those expectations. I so wanted to give it 5 stars as I feel the people who work there are very friendly and hardworking, plus it has a great lobby with all kinds of seating for hanging out to read after breakfast crowd leaves and 24/7 coffee, tea and cocoa a nice perk. Kitchen crew needs to work on replenishing food sooner as there are many people eating here. No bread? No hard boiled eggs? Yogurt empty. The room had issues. There is a barn door for the bathroom and it had been kicked in by a previous tenant and no one noticed so the door jammed everytime and I wrenched my back as I could not open the door to get out of the bathroom. They had a maintenance person come in ater I asked them to replace it but all they did was adjust it a bit so it didn't catch as bad, Still the same broken door. The worst part was because this is a "Pet Friendly" hotel, which is obvious from the parade of animals going by at breakfast time, the room smelled of sickening dog urine the whole time we were there. Could not open a window as they are one piece sealed. Put a damper on my Christmas having to smell that stench. Even a room freshener did not help much that I happen to carry in my luggage. I spent many hours sitting in the lobby to avoid it but I still had to sleep in there. Afraid this place will not be on our "Go To" list in the future. If they could properly clean the carpets and sofa to avoid this issue it would be a great place to stay. read more

Cancelled my reservation one day before arrival due to a serious accident making me unable to travel. The person who took my cancellation said "don't worry, things happen, we'll take care of it" when I asked about about charges, fees, etc for cancellation. But the full charge was posted to my credit card statement. Over two months later, no one from the hotel, including the listed general manager, Jennifer Overstreet, has replied to my messages. However hotel management did have time to justify their charge with my credit card company. This lack of care and understanding should be a red flag to anyone considering reserving a room at this hotel, or any Saffon /Azure Hotel Group property (a listing of their current holdings is posted to the Saffron Hotels website). My colleagues, family and friends are certainly taking this into consideration when planning personal and corporate hotel schedules. However the entire career of Ms. Overstreet appears to be a long-standing relationship with Hilton-branded properties solely in the Bakersfield area, so she may not be experienced with first-class guest care. read more

I drove to the Homewood Suites only to realize I accidentally booked this hotel instead. It is vastly different. It's like if Katy Perry circa 2015 was a hotel and I don't mean that in a good way. Coming here after seeing how nice the Homewood one was really sucked. Low quality construction, furniture falling apart, highway noise, it feels dirty and cramped. Haven't even tried the coffee yet but while the Homewood Suites has Sbux, this place has generic. You get the idea. For $229 a night (more than the Homewood one charged turns out), very bad. I will say Tyrena IS pretty awesome and funny and should be working somewhere better. Only reason this place gets one star. read more

This hotel worked out well for us. We had 8 people and got 2 connecting rooms. We were in the area to do some rafting on the Kern River. Our 2 rooms had 2 double beds and a pull out sofas. So they say you can sleep 6 people in each room. BUT it wouldn't work for us. We had 2 adult males that were 6 feet and needed to sleep diagonally on the bed. The kids were fine on the other bed and the sofa beds. There was a fridge, sink, dishwasher and lots of counter space. Our stay also included breakfast. They had lots of options. but get there early. If the hotel is at 75%+ capacity, they may run out of food. They also have a coffee bar that is stocked 24/7. The location is nice, about 5 mins away from shops and restaurants. read more

Long overdue, but I was still processing. I stayed here last week from July 9-15 2023. This was my 2nd stay at this exact location. Both times I traveled here for military training. The first time I came up, I only stayed 1 night with no issues (traveled alone). This time however, I had a terrible experience. First I do want to mention why they earned 1 star. The staff is extremely sweet, welcoming and courteous. Their fitness room is clean and stocked with towels and parking is free. Rooms are spacious and there's a 24/7 coffee bar. Downsides: Complementary breakfast is extremely bland. Waffle station wasn't properly set up until the very last morning of my stay. A load of laundry will cost you $5. Room was only "cleaned" 1 time during the week long stay (that's not enough, IMO ), some trash was taken out, beds were made, dirty towels were taken but not replaced except for the bathroom mat. It was a group of 7 service members, we were up early and rushing to get out every morning, and every single day we had to hunt someone down to get us to-go plates and utensils; they finally set those out on our last morning there. It took my roommate and I almost 2.5 hrs to watch a 1.5 hr long movie because of how terrible the internet signal was . Don't ask why we didn't just turn the TV off! P.s the movie was great! The main reason why I will not be coming back is because during my stay, my car and one of my Soldiers car, were broken into. The hotel takes ZERO responsibility because they have signs posted outside and claim to include this information in their welcome booklet (which I did not see). With the significant amount of crime that occurs in this area, I am baffled as to why management at this location has not taken precautionary action to make their guests feel safe. When I talked to local PD, after filling my police report- they stated that they receive the most calls from this location. Funnily enough, the Holiday Inn down the road has security cameras installed! The morning I walked out and saw the damage, I walked back in and asked the front desk girl if they had cameras- her immediate question was if my car had been broken into. She gave me a sad look and went to grab a broom for me to clean glass off my car. Corporate did reach out to me and they attempted to alleviate some of my concerns by depositing points into my account. However, I am out hundreds of dollars from the property that was stolen on top of repairs. For anyone looking to stay here, stay safe. Park in the very front (more visibility and light through the night), and don't leave any valuables in your car. Might actually be better to "downgrade" in hotel quality and stay at the Holiday Inn down the road, as they do have security cameras on their property. read more

I stayed here on a thurs night, it's close to the freeway, break in are on the ride everywhere and this location is near the freeway so please empty out your car. Tyrena greeted me with the warmest welcome and made me feel so good checking in and treated me with dignity, respect, kindness and honesty. I stayed on the 5th floor and it was quiet. Amenities are good heated pool, grills, fire pit, parking, gym and breakfast. I enjoyed my stay here and will be back. Tyrena made all the difference provided the best customer service and was so knowledgeable, staff members like her make me happy to be a Hilton rewards member. Thank you! read more

My room is fine, however, after about a dozen door slams several minutes ago from the three women cleaning the room next to mine, I finally asked why were they letting the door slam so many times? The response was, " because we're cleaning the room! " Not a great response from an employee who seemed to be the one in charge... I then asked, "but why are you letting the door slam, can you not let the door slam?" Her response was ..."because it doesn't have a door stop". No apology, just excuses. It appeared the one in charge and answered me was a brunette gal with a little defensive attitude. I'm thinking to myself...How about I'm sorry, we'll put a towel down as we come in and out or we'll close it quietly? As I heard their laughter throughout I suppose they forgot where they were... However, as they left they let it slam nice and hard again... not a great review unfortunately thanks to one of the wonderful folks here. Since no one else spoke up after her, I suspect I was just being sensitive ‍ I don't expect anything in return of course. As a diamond member I see this nationally and often enough to say the excuses are never a good response... learn tact and keep abreast of where you are. read more

This is a very tough review for me to write. I went back-and-forth between a 3 and a 4, but I gave it a 4 because of how nice and friendly every single staff member I came across was. Everyone was positive and said hello, and were helpful anytime I needed anything. Ok so first impression. It's like walking into an IKEA show room. I would be floored if I found out there was a single piece of furniture or fixture here that was not from IKEA. And there's nothing wrong with that. Just an observation. And while it all looked new, I noticed throughout the hotel the floors appeared dirty. Maybe just high traffic? In our bathroom, the shower was pretty dirty too though. There was lots of hair and dirt or something from the person who was in here before us. One thing I noticed during my four day stay was the variety of people that stayed there. I saw families, couples, construction workers, a gentleman who appeared to be homeless, and what I firmly believe was a pimp and a prostitute. No judgment, again just an observation. There are two elevators and one was broken three out of the four days we stayed here. So the elevator wait was a bit much. But I got in some steps taking the stairs so that was nice. Our room was nice and comfortable. It had a refrigerator, dishwasher, sink, and microwave. The beds were comfy. And again, anytime I needed something, like more conditioner, they were very helpful. I chose not to get cleaning service because of the Covid situation. Just a note, on one occasion I left my room and the whole hallway smelled like weed. They served a free hot breakfast in the morning. I stayed during the Covid time, so I'm not sure how the food offerings would differ normally. The man who was serving breakfast was very nice and helpful. I have a food allergy and he went and checked the ingredients on the frittata to make sure it was safe for me to eat. Choices were a bit limited (only compared to other Hilton hotel stays) but still pretty good. They had cereal, yogurt, granola bars, stuff like that. And then depending on the day, they had a different variety of ham and cheese frittata, sausage, or biscuits and gravy. Overall, I did enjoy my stay! read more

Was here for a work trip and was greeted by the sweetest person in the front. (I wish I got her name, but the girl with the curly hair). In any case, she was able to check me in quickly and give me a little goodie bag that was much appreciated. She even text me shortly after to see if I was able to get on the wi-fi or needed anything else. Great customer service!!! My room was quiet and I was able to rest and relax for the evening. Starting with the 165.00 per night in Bakersfield one has expectations, none of which were met. So many problems: * understaffed * only one elevator working the busiest weekend of the year * Poorly maintained; no soap/shampoo, TV does not work (they suggested we simply unplug it, yay), heater unreliable, wall trims molding coming off *VERY cheap construction * obvious security/crime issues as they are posted notices all over the place PARK AT YOUR OWN RISK- the room even has a scary list of the most-often stolen items * the location surroundings looks like a junkyard * WORST of all was the food for the included breakfast. Inedible. Oh, and if you book your room through a vendor they will remind you at every contact "since you booked your room through a third party...." exact words For clarity this is the first poor review I have given a hotel in my life. This hotel has really gone downhill. I've stayed here at least three times and will no longer do so. For starters only one elevator was working during my stay so there was a lot of waiting. The first room I was assigned had a foul odor and upon closer examination the bed was found to be the source. So gross! The chair in this first room was disgustingly stained. I then switched rooms to one with a very noisy ac. Maintenance slightly improved the noise by tightening something but it was still really hard to sleep with. The breakfast was mediocre and the staff didn't seem to be paying attention to replenishing things when they were out. I also forgot an item in the room after check out and called three days in a row and each time I was told they would call me back after checking with others and housekeeping and never did. Unless you need a full size refrigerator and laundry machines this place should be skipped. read more

My biggest complaint is that Hilton advertises and even for this booking sent multiple emails and notifications about self check-in, however this particular location decided to disable that feature. No reason, just because. Yet they still tell you it's there and send you emails about it. Tiny bit of false advertising happening there. Otherwise a decent clean low/mid budget hotel. read more

This hotel is located by restaurant and stores. It's relatively new and there's ample parking. It took approximately 5 minutes for someone to check us in but was very pleasant once we were acknowledged. Our room was spacious and clean but had a funky, plastic smell coming from the bathroom. Closing the door helped but was a tad overwhelming when using the loo. If I could give it 3.75 stars, I would but the funky smell will not be forgotten any time soon. read more

We had a wonderful stay, we got stuck in a lot of traffic and had to stop to look for a last minute place, Ali at the front desk was extremely helpful. I always make sure that we stay at a safe locations, this place was nice and they have security around 24/7. Ali was extremely helpful and nice, even though I walked in at 2 am looking for a room. Ali made sure I had everything I needed and was very informative. The rooms were nice and big and the bed are super comfortable! Do not park on the south side or rear of the building. They have reoccurring break ins and theft. 5 vehicles, mine included, in one night. The hotel has no cameras and accepts no responsibility. They dont have a security guard. The hotel itself is fine, but its unacceptable to not be able to know your vehicle and belongings are safe. read more

I WILL NEVER COME BACK! I came on a business trip and had a break in to my room. My equipment was stolen and the hotel is denying the event when clearly my door was not closing properly after the break in. I have contacted the assistant manager and got no help from anyone. The general manager is never in office despite me following up every day. Corporate will not do anything either. I do not feel safe staying in their rooms anymore and DO NOT RECOMMEND this place. Hold on to your belongings because the hotel staff is negligible and will not assume any liability for break ins. I'm very disappointed and will advise my travel coordinator to never do business with Hilton Hotel ever again. read more

I discovered Home 2 Suites by accident, I was on a very long drive and was super tired and needed a place to stop. Low and behold, across from the gas station sat Home 2 Suites beckoning me an offer of shelter and a haven from an arduous journey. The entire facility is very well run and modern. The lobby is new and feels like a full on hotel. They also have alcohol for purchase by the reception which is nice if you are so inclined. Staff very professional. I think Home 2 suites is great value because its slightly more expensive than a motel 6 but its far, far nicer and the rooms are extremely large and comfortable. read more

Very nice, new hotel. Nice accommodations and pool. Stayed on the 2nd floor and quite a bit of noise from upper levels walking around, stomping and such, to be expected. Really appreciate that this hotel is trying to be as environmentally friendly and eco friendly as possible. To reduce energy, lighting is controlled by keeping your room card in a slot, as to not waste energy while not in the room. I also liked that they have in shower dispensers for hair care and body wash, eliminating plastic bottle waste. I wish more hotels would follow their example. read more

I don't write a lot of reviews, especially for the amount of travelling I do for work and leisure but this location deserves a good review. Stayed here three nights during the week and expected it to be empty like most others I have stayed at. The first indicator that I knew the stay would be good was that someone from the hotel called me in the early afternoon to let me know my room was ready for my arrival. Not a text, email, but a phone call. The room was very nice and clean. It had all the amenities for a long stay like a full fridge, microwave, storage, coffee maker, etc. TV was large and new and quality was very good. The room itself was what I expect from a midrange hotel (I have stayed at very expensive hotels with lower quality). Morning breakfast was as expected and good. Parking was plentiful with some businesses on one side a ways away and open fields all around. The staff from front desk to breakfast attendant to housekeepers were consistently friendly and had great attitudes from morning to night. I picked this hotel due to Hilton brand loyalty, because it was new, and because there wasn't any other businesses (like a 7-Eleven, gas station, etc) in the area making it very quiet and secure. This is now my go-to hotel for any future stays in the area. read more

Unusually outgoing and happy staff. Most hotels have at least positive staff as it's their job to be so. This facility clearly chose everyone we encountered for being the nicest most upbeat group I've seen. I've stayed in hundreds of hotels. The rooms are pleasant, the kitchen far better appointed that any I've seen in a long stay hotel in a while. Definitely better than any recent Marriott I've stayed in. The bed was comfortable (though the sheets didn't tightly fit the mattress) and the rooms were spacious. It is near highway 99, so I'd recommend a west facing room. This is the nicest hotel I have ever stayed at! It is super clean, they provide: bowls, plates, mugs, glasses, forks, spoons, microwave, and dishwasher for all rooms. The staff is super friendly. So impressed with service at this recently opened hotel. We had our son come and stay for 4 nights earlier this month and we will definitely recommend to others. The set up is great for business meetings in the lobby and all of the suites are very spacious, with their own separate living room. They adapted well to the COVID regulations and were able to modify their food offerings to meet the guests needs. I interacted with management when I delivered meals to my son and all were super attentive. I also had direct service needs that were taken care of during his stay by Devon and he was outstanding. The follow up after his stay was also wonderful. I discovered a billing issue and called in 5 days after. I was assisted by Journey and then subsequently by Devon, who remembered my name and all the details of my son's stay and was quick to get everything fixed! I am a huge fan!!! read more
