Stayed here for a quick 2 nights as I was using it as a base to explore the Badlands, Mount Rushmore, and Crazy Horse Memorial. The room was clean, spacious, and the shower had great pressure. The location is excellent as it is located near the interstate and the road to numerous adventures and sightseeing. There was s a water park attached which is great for families. I wouldn't stay here for business, but for leisure it's fantastic. read more

Overall cleanliness was disappointing. The mattresses were disgusting and stained. The overpowering smell of odor spray in the room is what I assume they use to overpower the smell of urine and whatever else was all over our mattreses. Yes, plural because they were all stained. First visit to this location and a Home2Suites brand hotel. Room was very large and beds very comfortable. There were sufficient plugs for cpap and chargers. Bathroom had a very nice shower with great water pressure. Free breakfast had a wonderful selection of breakfast food, egg bites, sweets and coffee. Parking was ample and there was an outdoor area where guests were hanging out. Desk staff were very accommodating. read more

I love staying at this location when I visit family. There is no resort fee and breakfast is decent for a small town. It is located near food and not far from the airport. I love the room sizes, and it's great when I bring an extra person along. I appreciate there is a microwave and refrigerator in the room when I want to pick up a few items for longer stays. It takes a lot to get me to the point of wanting to make a post like this; in fact I don't recall ever doing it before. Evening desk clerk was extremely rude and disinterested in helping customers. Definitely in the wrong profession. Digital key would not work; no empathy and no explanation. Dishes in room missing and what was there was dirty. Unfortunately; had to go back to the desk clerk and that just about did her in; having to retrieve a clean drinking glass for us. Bathroom door would not close; no privacy. Room smelled like an animal had made a mess and they could not get it cleaned properly. Window shad looked like it had been through the wringer. Clearly management is not paying attention. Worst Hilton property I've ever stayed in and I've stayed in many over the last 30 years. Usually Home2Suites are nice and employees are kind and welcoming. Not this one.... read more

I'm here for a conference. The Hotel is right across the street from the Box Event center. Nice location (only one restaurant near by) and the room is clean and nicely appointed. Little kitchen area. Everything but a cooktop does have a microwave. Pretty nice set up overall. The young lady at the counter when I came in was very professional. Very polite. Had tattoos on her left arm related to the game fallout. gave me an early check in. The staff seems well-trained. And the property is perfect for what I'm here for. read more

We have stayed here a number of times. This time was different in terms of cleanliness. I personally washed behind the sink as someone before us had cooked something red and splashed it which the housekeeping staff never addressed. There was one glass. Not more. There were two coffee mugs where usually there are 4. The shower area was not as clean as it should have been and there was a massive stain on the carpet. It was, all-in-all rather disappointing especially for $175 per night. Don't know if it is the water park trade or not but we will choose elsewhere to stay in the future. I went on a two week road trip around the western United States to get away from the heat of Phoenix. This was not only the best hotel I stayed at on my trip, it was also remarkably the cheapest! Curiously enough, when I arrived here in early September, an incredible cold snap came through that dropped temperatures to below freezing and left almost a foot of snow in places. I had issues in other hotels where their heaters were not functioning (since it has been over 90 degrees earlier in the week). Thankfully, this location had no issues, and my room was super toasty warm when I arrived! It was also incredibly spacious, with a work desk, generous living space, a full kitchenette, and two queen beds. The bathroom facilities were also super clean, modern, and top notch. The front desk staff were pleasant, helpful, and provided to-go breakfast (due to the current COVID situation). A fantastic experience from start to finish. I have never stayed at this Hilton Home2 Suites concept before, but I will very much look forward to doing so in the future! read more

We stayed here for one night on a long trip we were making and it checked all our boxes of necessities for the night. It's a large hotel attached via indoor walkways to a couple other hotels and a waterpark. A neat concept for families and there were indeed many kids running around soaking wet and screaming in happiness. It was nice that there were a couple of different restaurants in the area but I wish they would have had a room service option. Our check-in was quick and easy and while our room was quite narrow and not much space, it was updated and contemporary. We liked the attached kitchenette and bet it would be quite useful if we were staying here longer. For just the night we used a couple water glasses and the fridge to store our road snackas. There was also a little sitting area with a couch next to the kitchenette. The bed was overall pretty comfy but I wasn't a fan of the scratchy towels in the bathroom. Despite all the families we saw staying here, our room stayed pretty quiet and we slept well. The breakfast was an absolute crazyhouse with a huge line, tons of people, and everything crammed into one room, though they did have a lot of nice breakfast items to choose from including fresh fruit. Overall it was a pretty solid stay. read more

I like the Home 2 Suite concept. On business trips I look for these because the rooms are bigger and if going to be someplace more than a few days it makes the traveling easier. For this trip, it was vacation and was able to get a big room at a low cost. Would recommend if visiting. Only disappointment was room faced Ellsworth AFB, but didn't see any airborne B-1s. If military and here for TDY or vacation be sure to ask restaurants/businesses if they have a military discount, most places about 10%. read more

While we had a great time enjoying the water park our room stay was a bit different. We had ants in our room the entire time. When we arrived on Sunday, we noticed a couple ants while getting changed to head to the water park right away. Just assumed it was just a couple so went and swam. Got back and there were tons of ants. We went and talked to front desk and they said they would send maintenance over but didn't know how long it'd be because there was only one maintenance guy for all 4 hotels. After waiting half hour for him to come, we ran and got bug spray at Target to spray them. The maintenance guy finally showed up about an hour later with bug spray. He sprayed one of the walls we hadn't sprayed because we didn't think the two sprays should be mixed. The guy mentioned something about ant baits he could put out but he never came back with them. We asked if they had had problems with ants in there before and he goes well yeah, you're on the first floor and close by the outside door. The front desk said they had no other rooms to move us to but did say they would give us a discount. We woke up the next morning still with ants. Went and talked to the front desk and they told us they could give us a discount on our stay. We had to spray our bug spray multiple times a day so our room constantly smelled like bug spray. We had friends staying in room 121 RIGHT BY the outside door and they had no ants. We got our invoice the morning we were checking out and didn't see a discount. We talked to the front desk and they said they could only put it in the day it was reported....considering we did complain Sunday night and Monday morning but then continued to spray bug spray because we had no other options. We got told we had to email the manager because the front desk couldn't do anything else. We emailed him and haven't heard anything back from him - going on day 2! read more

We stayed here for 3 nights during our trip to see Mt. Rushmore. Our stay was just fine. Checkin was easy, our room was clean, the staff was friendly. I was slightly concerned at check in because I discovered that this hotel (and the 3 nearby) are all linked (as in, have hallways to) a waterpark. I expected lots of screaming kids. We were lucky and had no issues, but I think it's not the season just yet. Breakfast here sucks. They have random bread, maybe fruit (some days yes, some no), no bagels some days, and microwaved breakfast sandwiches (like you would get from a gas station). Now I know this is Rapid City, SD and not NYC... but this is a Hilton property and it really should be better. There is coffee, tea or cocoa available at all times in the lobby which is nice. Now... we stayed here with our two dogs. They are allowed, for a $50 fee. Cool. What was less than awesome though is that there isn't anywhere to walk them other than the edges of the parking lot. This area is alternately weed filled or dirt, and after the rain it was muddy... which resulted in muddy paws. Ya'll. There's more to being dog friendly than just allowing the dogs and having dog treats at checkin. A grassy area for potty breaks would be helpful... or even some direction (if there is already such a place that's somehow hidden) at check in. Finally... the day we checked in, we were tired. There isn't anywhere to eat IN the hotel. We asked for info on delivery options, and they were clueless. This is helpful info, people. Yelp saved us... but the hotel should have this information on hand! read more

I can't say enough good things about this place. Our stay was 5 nights. We came here to renew our wedding vows for our 20th anniversary. We let the staff know ahead of time but didn't receive a complimentary bottle of wine or champagne. That was ok though, the staff was very friendly especially Ryder who made our day by taking a photo with us in our wedding attire. The rooms are spacious for a family of four and include a little kitchenette. The problem was, no cooktop. They do provide an induction cooktop free of charge at the front desk. It took a bit to master cooking on it. We cooked in one meal every day and one out. It comes with a fridge and freezer. The bathroom has a shower and a sink inside. The rooms are very clean and the staff takes great pride in keeping them that way. The hotel is pet friendly and you could see people walking dogs outside. Breakfast is average run of the mill food like frozen burritos, waffles, pastries, fruit, and juices. Can't complain, it's free! We used the outdoor grill several times and there is a grocery store right up the hill. The hotel is central to things to do near Rapid City such as Custer, Mt. Rushmore and the Badlands. We got a really good rate on Hotels and would love to stay here again. We made so many friends at this hotel, we really did feel like it was a home. There are many people that are there for long stays. The water park is geared more toward kids and not for us. You can use the hot tub for free though but it was packed full of people. They have a bar at the water park and the drinks are a bit over priced and come in a plastic cup. Also the tv could have been more centrally located in the room. They have it situated so if you have the privacy curtain open, you can't see the TV. We didn't find the two dressers necessary but there is plenty of room for storage. read more

I'm very disappointed. There was dried feces from the previous occupant on the commode. There was something that looked exactly like what was on the toilet which was also in a corner of the bathroom sink! Then, hair on the shower floor. So we asked for the bath to be cleaned while took the four grandkids out to dinner. After dinner, it was all still there! All they did was put out a fresh hand towel. Needless to say, we're not thrilled to be here & it's far too late to haul all our belongings & go somewhere else. I do NOT recommend this hotel. The check-in and check-out with the Front Desk was quick, pleasant, professional. Stayed for six nights and overall we were pretty happy. Spacious rooms with a simple layout and a mini kitchen. I'm pleased to say that the decor is not nearly as lime green as it appeared on my computer monitor when I reserved the stay. Light housekeeping is the normal and there's no housekeeping on the weekends unless you call by 9AM, then a full housekeeping session occurs every five days. I'm a fan of light housekeeping and of the soap and shampoo dispensers instead of the stupid little hotel bottles you usually get that contribute to the landfill (they still have stupid little bottles of lotion and conditioner, but at least it's a start). If you need a full clean housekeeping service everyday, this might not be the right place to stay unless you're only there for one night. The hotel offers convenient indoor access to the adjoined indoor waterpark and they had a special offer for a few days of our stay. The route to access the waterpark is a little weird, but that's more for the waterpark review than the hotel! Definitely on the list of places I'm willing to stay in Rapid. read more

Paid for two nights and tried to cancel the second as my room was connected to an adjoining room with a very loud couple next door. At 11pm the kid was running back and forth and yelling. I spoke to Rob the assistant manager about getting a different room or canceling my second night and he said they were at capacity and would still charge me for the second night. Very disappointed, I am a Hilton honors Gold member and always feel like the service and accommodations at other Hiltons in Rapid City is beyond clean, quiet and courteous. This Home2 was a disappointment. There was a disgusting stain on the couch, children running up and down the halls and mirrors/shower had not been wiped down- toothpaste on mirror and hair in shower. Considering the precautions others have been taking for COVID-19, this was well below standards. None of the employees were wearing masks, did not sanitize card reader before or after use, and when told of the issues with my stay they did not acknowledge. Next time I will search out other Hiltons instead of staying here again. read more

This hotel chain is generally awesome, and I really like the Home2Suites ones, which is why we stayed here. Everything was fine till 530am when the sun hit my face like the Death Star. I was worn out from traveling and this was not cool. I stay at these places specifically because they have the blackout shades that pull down and seal the window. Not this room. The top was gone, so there might as well been nothing there at all. When I went downstairs the lady at the front counter was 0 help, and told me pretty much oh well... that was worse than the light. I understand there aren't many choices around Rapid City to stay at, but I can assure you this place is way too smug. I will never stay here again,and I will file a complaint directly with Hilton. Needless to say I left early with only 4 hours sleep. AVOID for customer service reasons. read more

I Absolutely loved this place!! We were traveling with cats and chose the one bedroom suite. This sweet was huge. It was also extremely clean and modern. Unlike other places that we had stayed along our trip from Tennessee to Washington state, it did not smell like the other animals that had previously stayed in that suite. My data were comfortable enough to explore around the room and that says a lot! I would give this place higher than a five star rating if I could. And I would stay here again if I needed to. After being on the road for two nights in our new motorhome on a 4000 mile journey from California. Our First night West Wendover Nv Peppermill parking lot which had ample level space for our night stay. Second night Rawling WY KOA, very nice spot right off 80 open year round. When we arrived it was just us, and a little deer family! Oh and the 25-35 mph winds gusting over 40!!! Needless to say wasn't the best night sleep lol but was a great spot nonetheless. Next stop "Bucket List" Mt Rushmore!!! SPECTACULAR!!!! A true must see! This took us about 8 hours to get to do to the winds "Crazy Winds" drove 50 mph most of the way nail biting at times. So this is how we ended up here. My husband did an awesome job gripping the wheel getting us there safe and sound and all he wanted was a long hot shower I emphasize "long" endless hot water!! So I granted his wish and called and booked a pet friendly room. Total $109 plus $25 pet fee no matter how many dogs you had! Our room was way more then we expected king size bed, fold out couch, full kitchenette and super clean, NO ODERS! Very Nice Surprise for the price! We are not in Cal anymore lol!! Oh did I mention a "HUGE" Indoor "WATER PARK" So if you have kids and dogs and would like a nice place to stay on your travels we definitely recommend this place! read more

I had a great experience staying at this Home2 Suites! My room was very clean and had very nice amenities, especially for a hotel that allowed my two dogs. I requested a ground floor room, and they gave me one right at the end of the hallway, which was a huge blessing! However, I was most impressed by the service. Michaela was kind and professional, answering all of my questions in an efficient manner. She was as cheerful when I checked out as when I checked in. She went above an beyond to assist me during my stay, from letting me use her post-it notes to helping me with my Hilton app. Everyone here, including the gentleman I spoke with who helped me book, was competent and kind. read more

We are moving a cross the country and have stayed in a number of Home 2 properties. This one is by far the worst. The room smelled like urine. The blackout shade was stuck down so it was always pitch black in our room. The sofa was stained and I saw a mouse in the stairwell. It grossed me out to put my head on the pillow or even brush my teeth in the room. At all the other properties I could eat a healthy breakfast, but this hotel had carbs, carbs and more carbs. I'm lactose intolerant and the other properties had options. This one did not. I gave two stars instead one because it's still better than a Motel 6 and I overheard the gentleman and the front desk put his foot down and fight for another guest other the phone with who I assume was the head office. This hotel is very nice and clean, as is expected for a Hilton property. It's connected to a few other hotels on the property by a very confusing hallway system. We were told at the front desk that we could use the pool at one of the other hotels, and that there were restaurants that we had access to as well. But we never could find anything in the hallway system. Breakfast was a mad-house, but there were good options. I think there just needs to be a better queuing system. I'm disappointed that Hilton's pet fees have gone up significantly, $200 for one night with a total 30lbs of dog seems steep, especially when no where on the website/app says what the fees are. The other thing keeping this rating from 5 stars is that the address isn't recognized by GPS, so we circled the drain looking for the entrance for an embarrassing amount of time. read more

This is a good hotel with one problem. The Home2 is an extended stay hotel and the rooms are spacious with great amenities. The kitchenette is well stocked and the room has plenty of cabinet space. I really enjoyed staying here next to the water park. The problem is the breakfast buffet. It has the standard fare of juices, yogurt, sausage gravy, bagels, and waffle makers. But there is no eggs, sausage or other standard favorites. Instead, there are frozen eggs, sausage sandwiches, and breakfast burritos which you can microwave. The microwave food is pretty average or subpar to scrambled eggs and sausage patties found at other hotel buffets. It is a shame. As Hilton Silver members, we have stayed at many Hilton properties, so we thought we knew what expect from Home2. And while most of our experience was quite pleasant (the decor was very new, modern and clean, the bed was firm and comfortable), the "kitchen" was not what I expected for a suite (microwave, sink and larger than normal fridge) and the "breakfast" was absolutely wretched. Microwaved sandwiches with zero meat-free options are not our idea of breakfast. I could eat better in a gas station. While we wouldn't rule out staying at a Home2 again, we will choose a Hampton Inn over Home2 every time, just because the breakfast is so dependably good. Or a Homewood Suites if we need to cook in a real kitchen for extended stay. read more

We stay here for 7 days and our room was never cleaned. Paying a rate of $180 per day and we never had our sheets changed and bathroom cleaned. We had to buy soap because the curtesy dispenser was always empty. The staff are very nice young people and always smiling and try to help. We complained twice but nothing happened. This state it is so beautiful and there so much to see it and we were here for the Sturges Rally. We used to leave our room very early and coming back at midnight. Our room was dirty and bed to be done. They never changed our sheets and the housekeeper just changed towels. By the end the housekeeper left us a card saying that she was taking care of us and wishing us a good stay!! There are any supervision of work here regarding housekeeper. We are very sorry but won't come back to this hotel again. Follow the dog's stain that it has been in this room since day one. One more prove that they didn't cleaned. We have allergy of dogs and smoke. That's the room we got. However we never mention that we were allergic but also we never though that we would get a room with dogs satin. read more

We were in town for 3 nights and were so impressed with the hotel. The room was large and comfortable for myself, my husband, and our 11 y/o son. The full sized fridge was a huge plus! Room and hotel itself were very clean; zero complaints! The complimentary breakfast was great! From bagels to biscuits and gravy to breakfast burritos -- there was something for everyone in the family (including our picky eater). The staff at the hotel were super friendly, helpful, and experts on the surrounding area. We look forward to visiting again and will definitely recommend to our family & friends! The water park attached to the building was nice. Very crowded at times and the hot tub was frequently overflowing with kids (would have preferred a separate adults only hot tub). The lifeguards on duty all 3 nights were not the best, so keep an eye on your kiddos. None of this should be a reflection on the Home2 Suites, as the water park is a separate business, but wanted to include as a heads up. read more

Went to stay at this hotel last night and I was told I could pay in cash upon check out. it was getting late and my husband and 3 other guest that were with us were exhausted only to get there and they ask to see my debit and id again no problem until the laday at the front desk tells me my card declined which I just Told them on the phone my card doesn't have enough cash to cover two rooms hence the reason why I needed to pay in cash. So I told her I was told I can pay in cash you were not supposed to pull money from my car. she then tells me she sees where it says I was paying cash but they don't except cash so there was nothing she could do for me. that's all fine I just then needed them to place the money back on my card so I can try to find a new room. She was extremely snotty. And basically told me to shove it up my ass with out saying so many words.. me now up set because they pulled money from my card and No place to sleep at night and almost 2,000 miles from home... I try to explain to her that I need my money placed back on my card and I would like a Receipt. that I didn't give them permission to pull anything off my card... my card was only to be used for Incidentals. She tells me she can't give me a receipt and she don't know when I will get my money back mind you all the while she's snotty rolling her eyes and laughing... Now my husband is very upset has a bit of an aditude but not being to mean and he asked her for our money back and a receipt she then look right at him and raises her voice and tells him she couldnt give a receipt and we could leave.. my husband said I will leave once u give my money back or a receipt she responed with ok leave or I'm calling the cops of course we both say call the cops... I swear it was nothing serious enough to call the cops over but she did as we waited b4 the cops came I attempted one last time to be kind and patient with her and again asked her if there was anything at all she could give me to show she reversed the payment.. she started screaming at me and I was like I havnt cussed at you I havnt yelled at u and your sitting here screaming and your making it very difficult for me to be patient with you, alls Asking for his receipt... She at this point has her hands flopping head shaking and yelling at me saying she can give me a blank Receipt but that will be all I'm getting At this point I realize the cops are standing right behind me which explains why she was getting so rowdy. At this point she's cussing and screaming so im yelling back because I'm not going to just get screamed at.. and she keeps saying she can defend her self so she can cuss and act the way she was.THERE WAS ZERO REASON FOR HER TO DEFEND HERSELF!! The police then asked her to give us a receipt/ or let me take a picture and she allowed me to take a picture of the screen on her computer practically tossing the computer off the counter when trying to turn it around mind you all while screaming still... her comment was yes go ahead take your stupid pictures do What ever the fuck you want to but get the fuck out of my hotel! i took the picture and I left just as I wanted the entire time mind you the money still isn't on my card! lucky we had a great conversation with the holiday inn and were Able to get Room. upon arriving at the holiday inn were were told this wasn't the first time they have taken gues from there because of similar reasons!!! I do not recommend them and I would never go back. my husband and I stay at a lot of hotels and never ever have experienced anything like this and To top it all off she said she was the manager I remember correctly her name was Rachel. The hotel was clean, friendly desk staff and nice rooms. I'm giving it 3 star because we had personal belongings disappear from our room after housekeeping stopped in to touch up. The front desk didn't even offer to get a manager or make a report, so I assume this happens on a regular basis. It's a decent place for the money but if you stay don't leave anything laying around, it will "walk off". Also, while in the hotel parking lot someone damaged the paint on our car door, trying to break in. My trip to Rapid City caused me to lose even more faith in the human race. read more

Furniture in lobby areas were visibly dirty and fresh fruit options at breakfast were not available when compared to the previous location. I read the reviews and booked based on the latest ones. The hotel itself is in a convenient place. I was there on business but wanted the kitchenette in the room which is why I ended up booking here as well. The room itself seemed just ok. Our shade was ripped and had holes. The dishwasher was broken. The conditioner and body wash were out (they had the big pumps in the shower). We had one regular coffee in the room and one creamer. The TV situation was interesting. I'm used to the TV in hotel rooms being in the middle of both but this one was way off to the side in front of the couch so it was kind of far away from the bed closest to the window which was odd. Breakfast was not great but I am gluten free so hard to base it off that. They do text you throughout your stay to ask how things are going or if you need anything. I did let them know we needed the shampoo and body washed refilled as well as more coffee for the room. They forgot to do it so I had to text again and ask. Overall, it was just ok. read more

My husband and I along with our granddaughter and her friend stayed here three nights. Rooms are very nice and clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The two teenage girls enjoyed the connecting water park. A great location near shopping areas, great places to eat and places to explore. read more
