If you are craving a big American breakfast then this is your stop. Delicious food, fresh pressed orange juice, wonderful coffee, and a super friendly staff. The seating is very limited and can only seat around 11 people at a time inside, so expect a wait. We waited for the larger table and we're provided drinks while we stood there and the owner chatted with us and remembered all of our names along with the names of all the other guests. She even remembered people walking in from days ago, a super friendly and cozy feeling. The food was on point and we all scarfed down our "American breakfast" (pancakes) and "French breakfast" (French toast). I would come back in a heart beat, but maybe on a non rainy day so we could utilize one of the small outside tables. read more

My boyfriend and I traveled to Paris, Venice and Rome over the New Year (2019). By the time we got to Rome I was completely sick of eating croissants, drinking coffee I didn't like and trying disgusting bacon (how is it even possible to say disgusting and bacon in the same sentence? In Europe, they use the stomach lining or the inside of the cheek from a pig for bacon). After spending over an hour looking for a place in Rome to get a real American/English breakfast I found Homebaked. If you're looking for orange juice, pancakes, eggs and real bacon this is your spot. I got there when the place opened and was able to grab a table and was quickly served my food. I would highly recommend checking this place out if you're ever in Rome. The menu had a variety of items not only breakfast, that I wished I could have tried. LOVE THIS PLACE. It's a little piece of home in Roma. The staff is friendly and speak English! If you ever come here, you must try the "Olga" which is a French roast sandwich with egg and bacon inside finished with some drizzled maple syrup. It's delicious! Get a side of OJ and you'll have your typical American breakfast. Since "colazione" (breakfast) out here consists of coffee and a bread, you must come here to fully satisfy your hunger! P.S. I'm used to a "Grand Slam" American brrakfast.... eggs, bacon and pancakes, something Italian Cafes and/or restaurants do not offer. So as you can imagine, after a few days of only having an espresso and a measly croissant I was aching for a good old American Breakfast and Home Baked had just that. It was such a delight finding out this place existed! Obviously Italy is...Italian, so you're going to get food that is..Italian! Which is amazing. But I was there three months and you're bound to get homesick. So this place was a godsend! The food is amazing! You can basically order whatever you want. They'll make it for you as long as they have the ingredients. Plus they have "The Utopia," which is just a plate of bacon, for only €3 And their milkshakes are amazing too! But everything is amazing, really. It's usually very packed, because there's an American college nearby. The students are annoying and they talk really loud about really shallow and annoying things. So just go in the morning before they actually wake up. But the couple who owns the place is fantastic! Warm and friendly. They make you feel so welcome. read more

I've been traveling/living in Europe for 8 months and the change in its breakfast game really takes a toll on you, especially if you find yourself without a kitchen. We were recommended to this place by our Airbnb host and it was one of the most amazing breakfasts I have had in Europe. I asked for my bacon extra crispy and it was made perfectly. The cups of coffee really hit home too. Fried eggs, bagels, chocolate chip pancakes.. you name it. The owner was also very personal and kind. Homebaked is a must for any homesick American. The locale is small so be sure to get there when the nearby study abroad students are still in class. The Canadian owner, Jesse, and his Italian wife are such pleasant people. They make it feel like you're coming home whenever you enter their restaurant. Although they are more known for their brunch menu (I always get the "American Breakfast" of bacon, scrambled eggs, and pancakes with REAL Canadian maple syrup) they Also have good sandwiches, such as BBQ chicken that would make any american's mouth water. They also offer free coffee refills, an unusual treat in italy. Their delectable deserts like pies and brownies displayed on the counter are always hard to resisit. Homebaked is a very nice change of pace for whoever wants a taste of North America in the middle of Rome. It is also a good place to meet other expats and get a taste of home. read more

I got the buffalo chicken wrap and my husband got the chicken wrap along with two Iced lattes. All of it was great. The owner (I think) was so friendly and nice. I live in Rome now as a student and I love the place takes me back home. Super kind staff with a good story and truly takes me back to Delaware. Good food if you are missing American breakfast highly suggest the pancakes and eggs (I'm vegetarian but I'm sure the bacon is delicious). It is affordable and a beautiful location as well! Very cool hole in the wall. The wife wanted an American breakfast so we made a $20 cab ride 2.2 miles and found this very small gem with pancakes, eggs and bacon. Had a great walk to the river down hill after our dining experience. read more

Walked in to the most helpful and cheerful group of people. Meeting one of the professors from the local university was a God sent! She's from Philadelphia! Any how back to the review! Ordered two Americana breakfasts and a Thanksgiving lunch! Jesse, the owner, a Buffalo native was kind and super nice to the first timers! If you want a true American breakfast in Rome this is the only place to go. We visited a bunch of different places that said American breakfast but didn't have it. This place is right by the American University here and a great change of pace. Everything from bacon cheeseburgers, peanut butter and jelly, to an all American breakfast with eggs, bacon, and pancakes. The owner is great and originally from Buffalo in the States. Most of the breakfast places here only serve pastries and coffee, so this was a nice find! From hot chocolate with marshmallows to eggs with bacon and waffles, you'll find it here. My family and I were joking around that we wanted an IHOP, and this is even better! The owner is also very amicable and made us feel comfortable and at home.
