When we set up the appointment via phone the first thing he did was to clarify what our issue was and what brand and year our appliance (in our case our fridge) was. And he was upfront about the cost. You pay for initial diagnosis and visit which he applies towards the fix! We had issues with our ice maker that completely stopped - bad timing as it's summer now... Johe was prompt and professional, we have a no shoe policy in the house which he followed graciously. And in fact - when he came the 2nd time to fix it - he put on little shoe booties before he came into our house! For the initial diagnosis visit, he came on time, prepared and knowledgeable. Tried different things and determined we needed a new ice maker. He set our expectations about timing as he had to locate the ice maker and potentially had to be ordered if none in stock. He kept us informed on the status of the order (none were in stock) and called us to let us know when the order was expected to arrive and once it came - called me immediately to set up the next visit. When he came to fix it - he explained each step and what he was going to do and what it should be doing. He even cleaned up the inside of my fridge a bit as something spilled and he immediately cleaned it up. He ran the tests and for his service and new part we're all fixed!! He does all appliances and he is now my appliance fix it guy. Johe is personable and very professional. We feel like we hit the jackpot and highly highly recommend him. I didn't mention to him we actually had someone initially come to diagnose who charged less but that was my "learning fee" - cheaper doesn't mean better. The first guy who came looked at it, called someone, sat down and researched something on his phone. He finally came to the conclusion I needed a new ice maker, to seal in the ice maker and a new control board. At that point I contemplated just getting a new refrigerator all together! He did not give me the feeling he knew what he was talking about or knew the exact problem. He didn't even know there was a test button to try anything!! He did a great job. One other thing I'll say is that Jim is very conscientious and wants to do a good job. On my subzero, when he diagnosed the issue, he noticed that a previous person had almost cut through one of the tubes and when he touched it, he could see that it needed repair.
