J and H is a freaking joke. Do not use, they are just scammers. We had a Whirlpool refrigerator we had for several years and had bought the extended warranty through Whirlpool. Our ice maker was freezing and causing large chunks of ice to build up. We never had this issue before. They sent out a guy from J and H Appliance. He diagnosed it and said whirlpool gave him a replacement ice maker but the issue was a valve issue. Said he needed to order the part and he would come back the following week. Following week he came back, replaced the valve and we still have the same issue but worse now. I looked up our issue online in the forums and they said it's probably an o-ring in the ice maker that went bad. We asked him to replace the ice maker but he said no. He just replaced a valve. He said he was the owner and he was the only person in my area that serviced whirlpool. I assume J and H technician bills for every service call to make their money. So by not actually fixing an appliance they can keep coming back. He didn't fix our issue, his resolution in the end was to use an ice pick to chip away at the ice. He said ALL whirlpool ice makers have ice built up. We never had this issue in the past, why now. I guess if you live in the Monterey area don't buy whirlpool, because J and H are the ONLY company in the area that can service whirlpool. Do not use J and H Appliances. It's all just a scam. In the end whirlpool sent them a brand new ice maker which they kept, refused to replace and billed whirlpool for a part they can charge a future customer. It's very bad business practice, to bill ie whirlpool for parts to pretend to use for a customer, but actually not fix the problem and keep the part for their own use to bill another customer. In 10/23 I called because my fridge stopped making ice. They sent someone over and diagnosed the issue and replaced the ice maker motor. This cost 381$. It worked for 2 weeks until it stopped making ice again. Came back out and then diagnosed it as a bad wire in the door and that the whole door needs to be replaced, luckily it can be under warranty and will take 4 to 6 weeks for the door to arrive. I waited two months before contacting them and they said just keep waiting. I reached out again at four months and the dispatcher said it should take 2 to 3 months for the door to arrive and will pass the message along. It has been over seven months later and they have not reached out at all. At this point, I am wondering if they just forgot about me or have forgot to actually submit the order for a new door. I suppose they are happy with getting $381 out of me and stopping the service there. I've had to reach out to them every single time to get an update and at this point have given up. It is June 18, 2024 and I am still without ice , original service called date was October 2023. read more

I'm glad most people had a good experience with JH, mine like some others had not. My Maytag dishwasher stopped working with an error code. It's 3 years old, no extended warranty but had limited warranty for some parts. Called the place where I bought it, they only deal with JH for repairs involving Maytag, Whirlpool appliances. JH came out, pulled dishwasher out and water was behind every where, mold on walls through out my kitchen. I had no idea of leakage. Been leaking for a while. Unknown if it was an installation problem or dishwasher problem. Repairman said it was possibly a faulty water valve. Unable to specifically diagnose the problem because motor is also out. He needed washer running to find out where water was leaking from. It would be 300 for motor, 200 for labor and 175 for service call which would be deducted from the 500.00. I called Maytag who said the motor was covered under parts warranty. I called JH back to tell them about warranty. You think they would have called Maytag (since they represent Maytag) to check the warranty. The manager now checked the warranty and determined the motor was covered. I asked them to return to install motor that is covered so I can determine which company is responsible for my moldy walls. I'm now told by manager there are two lawsuits involving the repair of dishwashers that caused water damage to two customer kitchens. I'm told " for liability reasons " they are now refusing to install the motor and fix my dishwasher. But....my service charge will be refunded. I let Maytag know JH refusal to fix my dishwasher and they have assigned another Maytag Repair Service to help me out. read more

Dishwasher with a minor leak...J&H fixed it by making it a major leak. Over the course of 2 years, J&H dispatched no less than 5 different technicians to replace no less than 8 parts on a single Whirlpool dishwasher. At the end of this drama I was left with a dishwasher with a much larger leak than I started with. If you have purchased an extended warrantee, keep in mind that J&H works for the manufacturer's insurance contractor...not for you! Because they could not figure this out, they worked with the insurance company to reimburse me with a whopping $267...which is less than what I paid for the extended warrantee, not to mention the cost of the dishwasher. What a racket...god for them...not so good for the consumer Thanks J&H. You wasted countless hours of my time and could not manage to properly diagnose or fix the problem. read more

Washer stopped working but was under warranty, so J&H appliance was sent. Parts would need to be ordered, which is fine, but if I had not called, I would not have known that the parts were coming in. I scheduled an appointment for the installation of new parts and was given a window of 8 AM to noon for Friday, by 11 AM I called and was told my repair slot was from 11 AM to 1 PM. The man on the phone was very rude. At 12:59 PM I received a call from the technician stating that he was running late and would be arriving at 1:30 PM. Tech arrived as promised and repair was completed by 1:59 PM. I was told by the technician that an email would be sent for the description of the repair. I did not receive an email; I had to call the company on Tuesday to receive an invoice via email. The technicians were great but the way the company operates sucks. read more

Washing machine not draining, here for 20 min Diagnosis bad pump bad computer. Didn't even drain the water out of the front load washer. They charged me for a full hour. Now they tell me the fix is $782. Turns out I watched you tube videos and drained the machine. As soon as it was drained the computer reset and it started the spin cycle. I ordered a pump and 10 minute install and the machine is fine. I needed them to help me with my machine and they didn't just handed me a bill. These are Maytag Factory Certified. Just one week ago, J& H Appliance's representative, Dave B. did an amazing job fixing the feeezer for my side by side Kitchen Aid 48 inch refrigerator finding that I needed to replace my inverter compressor. Dave carefully ruled out that anything else had to be done on the compressor or mother board which would have been extremely costly. He checked my ice maker at no charge and tweeked a flap on the door so that the ice maker no longer was leaking. I have used J&H Appliance in the past for so many years, & just like Dave, their technicians are very caring, yet professional, extremely honest & transparant, & supportive & friendly. Girls that work in the office are always extremely rude, they take forever to call back and book an appointment, I'm usually calling them to book my appointment obviously I'd feel frustrated with them not getting my appliances fixed for a whole month! My dishwasher was to be repaired on warranty. After one trip bringing the wrong part, weeks later the repairman returned. It has been 4 months since this process started. He says he fixed it, but could not finish as he did not know how to reattach the hoses under the sink. He even talked to my plumber who had worked under my sink before and talked to the repairman on how to do it. The manager at J&H was rude and told me that was my problem and that I had a hose missing. I have pictures and nothing is missing. Even the repairman said it was there. The manager said I had to pay a plumber to reconnect the hoses. So at this point, who knows if it is fixed or not? I still can't turn it on or use it! Not acceptable. read more

My new Kitchenaid dishwasher worked like a charm until it quit and kept draining. I tried to reset the unit by unplugging the power cord - didn't solve the problem. As it was still under warranty, Kitchenaid support scheduled a repair appointment with thier service affiliate in San Jose, J&H Appliance. I was thinking the worst, as this dishwasher was the fourth unit in the past 25 years to break down. However, I was so pleased with this new Kitchenaid dishwasher, thinking I had found the ultimate in dishwashers until it stopped working - too good to be true! J&H Appliance sent their highly skilled technician, Guillermo, to investigate the problem. Within minutes, he opened the door, simultaneously pushed a few buttons, and electronically reset the dishwasher. My new Kitchenaid dishwasher was working again and my faith in the Kitchenaid dishwasher had been restored! Guillermo told me the cause of the problem, explaining that it was a common "user error" he has seen many times - I had pre-washed the dishes with Dawn detergent causing suds to build up in the drain. Good morning, On February 22, 2024, I had to put in a call for service for my Maytag Washer. I received confirmation verbally and email from Maytag customer service that a service company had been scheduled for Monday, February 28, 2024 between the hours of 12:00 - 2:00.the name of the service company was going to be J & H Company from Fresno. On Monday I received a call from a technician, James Dean that will be coming out within 15 minutes. Upon his arrival James Dean was dressed very professional and greeted me right away. He had recapped what was on his work order and wish to see the Maytag washer. In seeing the error codes and highly accurately assessing what was wrong. James ensured me that he would be able to fix this with no problem. In evaluating the water level he immediately explained that he would have to drain the machine before claring out the filter. James had brought up a Wet-vac and you can see that his level of competence being prepared on having all the tools needed to avoid any mistakes. I mention that wow, you really know and have been down this road before. James replied, yes that you have to get rid of the water first before we fix the real problem. Once this was done he immediately took apart the washer and explain the reason as to why it would not drain. He showed me a filter below the basket which at times will get clogged. He mention to make sure that we clean the from of the washer to be free of any lint or items that would cause this. James put back the washer and ran a cycle and everything was fine. He asked that I monitor a few washes to make sure that there's no leaks due to the this service call, should there be a leak just call us back and J&H will provide service. Enclosing, J&H holds and the bar high for customer service. I say this because of the total professionalism and confident of technician James Dean of his abilities in his field. James was very professional and highly skilled. You can see that he accepts each new job assignment willingly as a challenge. He make a strong and good positive first impression. I would highly recommends James for any job should I need him in the future. Today It is rare that you come across with such a matured skilled problem solving employee.
