And when I asked she said ohhh but I only put a little--- you up charged for oat milk- and I have an dairy allergy - if you know you messed up- then correct the mistake and make fresh. I absolutely love this place! It's a coffee shop & flower shop in one. It's also directly across the street from me so it's super convenient in the morning. The staff is always so nice. Much nicer than some of the other places on Franklin St. I always get their cold brew, it's very good. They also offer oat milk which is my new obsession. Not very many places do so it's a major plus for this place. FYI though, there isn't much seating so it's not a place you can hang out & do work on your laptop. read more

Great coffee, and a really cool place with really great employees. On a recent visit, I bought a chai latte which came out tasting odd and unlike when I had bought it in the past. I brought it back to the shop and the barista remade it right away, even though they were just about to close. The second drink was back to Homecoming's normal high standard, and I really appreciated their gracious customer service. Love spending my mornings at Homecoming! Vince, Casey and Vanessa are the best! It's so lovely having a spot in the neighborhood to grab some coffee and baked goods where everyone knows your name. Their plant selection is so wonderful and they are all super easy to take care of. I can barely walk out of the store without a new little one for my apartment. The most amazing part about Homecoming is they are always introducing me to new makers and artists. Their selection of ceramic, home goods and indie lifestyle magazines is very unique to the neighborhood and a great place to pick up a great gift for so many occasions. Cute little shop full of different types of plants, pots, plant holders and limited selection on some books, decor, candles and body care products. I came mainly because the aesthetics of this shop looked so airy and fresh, leaving me with a lot of room inspo. I've been looking all around for some peonies and originally had planned to pick some up here if they had some in store but I'm glad the flower shop I came to prior had better options. They were selling their peonies which seemed really small and unlikely to bloom for $10 each. $10 for 1 peony! not even a whole bunch...their little air plants also sold for $14 when I saw some at another place for $5 each. So basically, aesthically appealing but would not come back to purchase any flowers/plants from here. read more

I absolutely loved this shop, which makes my experience today all the more unfortunate. My boyfriend had gifted me a copper mister from the shop for Valentines Day. After a few months of gentle use, the finger loop popped off. I thought it would be simple to go to the shop and do an exchange for the same item. They informed me that returns/refunds were not allowed in their shop policy. In addition, because my boyfriend had bought it in December they felt this was too long a period to accept a return. I explained it was a gift so it wasn't used till late February. They still shook their heads and said no exchange sorry. I own 5 plants and used it 4 months, not nearly enough use to justify the malfunction. I go to local businesses with the expectation of strong service. Homecoming has an amazing atmosphere, tasty coffee, and lovely plants but sadly they are lacking where it matters. I will be taking my business elsewhere. read more

It's such a wonderful little Greenpoint nook to grab a coffee (Verve Coffee, from Santa Cruz, CA), perhaps a pastry, and nibble while you smell the flowers, admire the cacti, perhaps build your own bouquet, or grab some locally made soap, or jewelry. It's really, really good, and both locations stores are the similar great, though our experience is mostly based on Berry st location. Trendy little shop with a great selection of handmade ceramics and plants as well as blue bottle coffee and dough doughnuts. Although pricey, it's what you can expect for ceramics of this quality. Smallish but nice plant selection--I picked up a ruby rubber plant, and the plant guy was super friendly and helpful. I'm really not someone to leave a negative review on Yelp. Especially for a small biz in my neighborhood. But I've had a really crummy customer service experience at this shop several times over the last year & it absolutely infuriates me every time. The selection of objects is beautiful & I've purchased many pretty gifts and countless coffees there. But every time I ask for assistance or interact with someone who works there, I'm treated like I'm completely inconveniencing them. I just went in to purchase a fancy flower pot & the barista asked if I needed help. I explained I wanted to buy the pot but wasn't sure if it was the correct size. Before I could ask if it was returnable, the woman unpacking flowers behind me shouted at me word-for-word "why don't you ask me, because she's obviously busy making coffee". When I turned around & re-explained my question, she asked me - in a really rude way - why I didn't measure the pot before trying to buy it. It felt like she was calling me an idiot for trying to buy something in her shop. So I put the pot down & left. I refuse to spend money in a place that doesn't value their customers or encourage their employees to smile and speak kindly to the people who make their biz possible. And I'll buy my $50 boob pot directly from the artist, because I know that they won't shit on me for trying to patronize their business. read more

my history of going to 'homecoming' for tea or coffee began after hearing about the shop from a close friend. "there's a really great place in the neighborhood, george. it's all flowers and there's delicious coffee." so i took my curiosity down the street to a shop then called 'spina.' i was struck by the shop's minimalist yet lush environment: bright whites and an uncluttered layout peppered with potted plants and well-designed artifacts for the home. and at the center of the shop a table of fresh flowers for sale. it truly became apparent that it was an altogether beautiful space. moreover, i couldn't help but notice the pleasant effect of being surrounded by so many signs of life when going about the otherwise routine task of buying a cup of coffee or tea. the shop name changed along the way but the hallmarks of their service have remained unchanged. the staff shares their kindness during every visit. i believe it is a courtesy they extend to all of their customers. and yes, the coffee and tea, as well as the pastries, are all first rate. if you're in greenpoint, make it a destination. highly recommended. read more

The store is beautifully curated cafe, flower shop, and ceramics but the staff here is sort of unwelcoming. Every time i'm there is no warm greeting and staff actually seem bothered if you have a question or interrupt their personal conversation/whispering. This place gets 4 stars because of the decor and ambience. It's really nice to browse the flower section in the back, although I have never purchased because they are really overpriced (does anyone actually buy flowers here??). The coffee is never that good. We just purchased some presents for friends at home coming again and I'm so disappointed that I have to write this review. It is such a cute shop and but the arrogance of the staff is just devastating the athmosphere. The staff was so unfriendly, we just asked to wrap the products we purchased, explained that it is meant to be a present and he was not interested at all in helping us putting the products nicely together. In the end we got a crappy paper bag and presents thrown in the bag. I had to ask for every single thing, wrapping paper, ribbons...furthermore we bought the last book of a series which was pretty dirty and he was not even willing to give a little discount for that, we had to ask him to clean it. All in all very unsatisfying shopping experience with very arrogant staff, who was not interested in us at all, this is not the way to keep the local customers coming in again. I will definitely support other stores in the future and also get me coffee elsewhere. read more
